After 41 long years, the Indian Tricolour is soaring beyond the skies once again – as **Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Indian Air Force** is all set to go to the much awaited space mission, with the **International Space Station aboard the **Axiom-4 Mission.

India is back in space – and what a proud moment this is. Born in the heart of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow’s  son, Group Captain Shukla, is making history by  becoming the **first Indian to reach the ISS**, and only the **second Indian in space** after the legendary **Rakesh Sharma** in 1984!”*

June 26th marks the **International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking**, a day the United Nations designated back in 1987 to strengthen global action against drug abuse and illegal trade.This year’s observance is more relevant than ever.

इस दिन को मनाने का मकसद लोगों को नशे की लत से होने वाले खतरों के बारे में बताना है। साथ ही अवैध दवा व्यापार के जोखिमों के बारे में भी जागरूक करना है। आजकल लोग शराब, ड्रग्स, गांजा और हेरोइन जैसे कई तरह के नशे कर रहे हैं। इनसे हो सके आपको कुछ देर के लिए अच्छा महसूस हो, लेकिन इनकी लत आपको कई तरह की परेशानियों का शिकार बना रहीं है।

चहल-पहल भरी सड़कों से लेकर शांत रास्तों तक नशे के खिलाफ लड़ाई जारी है। दुनिया भर में, नशे की समस्या बढ़ती जा रही है। नशे की लत से जूझ रहे लोग, बिखरते परिवार और अपराध और हिंसा से तबाह हुए समुदाय इससे पीड़ित हैं।

But there is a way forward.

“We cannot fight drug abuse and trafficking by punishment alone.

• Strengthening *education* that empowers young minds before addiction begins.

• Expanding *health care* for treatment and mental well-being.

• Creating *alternative livelihoods* that offer real hope beyond the reach of organized crime.

This is how we build **resilient communities**. This is how we **break the cycle**.”

केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री अमित शाह ने कहा है कि मोदी सरकार मादक पदार्थ उत्‍पादक गिरोहों के विरूद्ध कडाई से पेश आ रही है और इसके शिकार युवाओं को सामान्‍य जीवन जीने की राह पर वापस ला रही है। एक सोशल मीडिया पोस्‍ट में नशीली दवाओं के दुरुपयोग और अवैध तस्करी के खिलाफ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस के अवसर पर आज श्री शाह ने कहा कि मादक पदार्थ युवाओं के लिए सबसे बडी समस्‍या है। उन्‍होंने मादक पदार्थ मुक्‍त भारत के संघर्ष में देश के यौद्धाओं और सहयोगियों को शुभकामनाएं दीं। उन्‍होंने कहा कि मोदी सरकार इस खतरे के खिलाफ संकल्‍पबद्ध होकर आगे बढ रही है। श्री शाह ने आशा व्‍यक्‍त की कि यह दिवस मादक पदार्थ के खतरों के विरूद्ध सरकार के संकल्‍प को और सुदृढ बनाएगा।

Leading the charge was **Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan**, accompanied by students from the **National Service Scheme**, government officials, and local dignitaries.

But the mood turned serious when the Governor highlighted a disturbing trend-a **recent survey showed 23% of government school students in Puducherry** have been affected by drug use.

He urged the youth to take responsibility, reject narcotics, and guide each other toward healthier, brighter futures.”

As the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is being observed globally, today, the Punjab Police has reaffirmed its relentless fight against drugs. Punjab Police Chief Guarav Yadav has said that from cracking down on traffickers to dismantling supply chains and supporting rehabilitation, Punjab Police is taking all the necessary steps. More from our Jalandhar correspondent:

Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav said the Yudh Nashian Virudh mission is not just an enforcement drive but it’s a people’s movement. He said Punjab Police is encouraged by the growing support from citizens who are standing with the force to curtail this menace. A cyclothon was organized in Mohali by Narcotics Control Bureau to spread the awareness against the use of drugs.

In Chandigarh, Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development in convergence with the Chandigarh Police, National Service Scheme (NSS), and National Cadet Corps (NCC) organized an Anti-Narcotics Pledge and Rally at Sukhna Lake as part of the series of programs being conducted by the Administration to celebrate the “International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”. The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and Chandigarh Police personnel, all coming together under a shared spirit to tackle the serious issue of drug abuse and to make Chandigarh truly Nasha Mukt. Chief Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, Rajeev Verma administered the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ pledge to the assembled participants and dignitaries. An awareness rally was also flagged off by him from Sukhna Lake.

26 जून विश्व नशीले पदार्थ को दुरूपयोग और अवैध तस्करी के खिलाफ अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस पश्चिम बंगाल के दार्जिलिंग पहाड़ व तराई तथा डूवर्स क्षेत्र में पालन किया जा रहा है। ड्रग्स सीधे मृत्यु को निमंत्रित करता है तथा इसके लत मे डुबे व्यक्ति को मौत के मुख में ढकेलता है, जन-धन की हानी तो करता ही है परन्तु घरों को भी बरबार कर देता है। अतः ड्रग्स को ना कहें, सचेत बनें व सतर्क रहें। अपने आस पास पड़ोस में नजर रखें तथा ड्रग्स के सेवन तथा इसके तस्करी करनेवालों की जानकारी पुलिस को दें। इस आशय के साथ दार्जिलिग पहाड़, तराई व डुवर्सको नाश मुक्त बनाने का आभियान तेजी से चलाया जा रहा है। जिसका सार्थक परिणाम भी दिखाई देरहा है। इस अभियान के दौरान एस सौ से अधीक ड्रग्स माफिया व तस्करों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। तथा करोड़ों रूपए के मादक पदार्थ बरामद किया गया है।

नशा मुक्त भारत अभीयान के तहत उत्तरबंगाल में विशेष कर दार्जिलिंग के पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में पुलिस प्रशासनद्वारा नशीले पदार्थों के विरोध में एक विशेष अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। यहां के जिला पुलिस अधिकारियों द्वारा विगत एक सप्ताह से चलाए जा रहे नशीले पदार्थों के दुरूपयोग  तथा अवैध तस्करी विरोधी अभियान में पुलिस को बड़ी सफलता मिली है। दार्जिलिंग पुलिस अधीक्षक प्रवीण प्रकाश स्वयं इस अभियान का निगरानी कर रहे हैं तथा सभी थानों के अघिकारियों को दार्जिलिंग पहाड़ को नशा मुक्त बनाने हेतु कड़े व सख्त निर्देश दिए हैं। विगत एक सप्ताह से चलाए जा रहे इस अभियान में सौ से अघिक ड्रग्स माफिया तथा तस्करों को गिफ्तार किया गया है तथा करोड़ो रूपए मुल्य के ड्रग्स व अन्य लागु पदार्थों को जपत किया गया है। नेपाल तथा बंगलादेश की सीमा से सटा क्षेत्र होने के कारण अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय तस्कर सिलिगुड़ी कारिडोर को लागु पदार्थ तस्करी के लिए सहज व सुरक्षित क्षेत्र समझते थे। परन्तु प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के नशामुक्त भारत बनाने के आह्वान के बाद यहाँ भी पुलिस, बीएसएफ व एसएसबी काफी सतर्क व सक्रिय है। एक तरफ ड्रग्स माफियाऔं व तस्करों पर कारवाही हो रही है तो दुसरी तरफ आम लोगों में इस के भयानक दुस्परिणामों के बारे में व्यापक जनजागरण अभियान भी चलाया जा रहा है। परिक्रमा के लिए अशोक चौरसिया, आकाशवाणी समाचार, कर्सियांग।

Major Rama Raghoba Rane

Major Rama Raghoba Rane, PVC (26 June 1918 – 11 July 1994)
was an Indian military officer. He was the first living recipient of India’s highest military decoration, the Param Vir Chakra, which he was awarded along with Karam Singh.
He remained in the military during the post-war period and was commissioned in the Bombay Sappers Regiment of the Indian Army’s Corps of Engineers on 15 December 1947. In April 1948, during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947, Rane played a key role in the capture of Rajauri by Indian forces by being instrumental in clearing several roadblocks and minefields.

बाल गन्धर्व (जयंती)

आज मराठी रंगमंच के महान् नायक और प्रसिद्ध गायक बाल गन्धर्व की जयंती है। उनका पूरा नाम नारायण श्रीपाद राजहंस था। यह नाम उन्हें भारत के प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों में से एक बाल गंगाधर तिलक ने दिया था। उन्होंने रंगमंच पर अपने अभिनय की शुरुआत सर्वप्रथम शकुंतला का चरित्र निभाकर की थी, जिसे देख दर्शक मंत्रमुग्ध हो उठे थे।

बाल गन्धर्व मराठी रंगमंच पर महिला चरित्रों को निभाते थे, क्योंकि तत्कालीन समय में महिलाएँ रंगमंच पर किसी भी प्रकार की भूमिका नहीं निभाती थीं।  

नारायण श्रीपाद राजहंस ने अपने समय के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार भास्करबुवा से संगीत की शिक्षा प्राप्त की थी। रंगमंच के प्रति आकर्षण के कारण वे 1905 में ‘किर्लोस्कर नाट्य मंडली’ में सम्मिलित हो गए।

बाल गन्धर्व ने ‘गन्धर्व नाट्य मंडली’ नाम से अपनी एक संस्था बनाई थी। इस संस्था ने वर्ष 1944 तक अनेक नाटक प्रस्तुत किए। यह मराठी रंगमंच की सिरमौर संस्था बन गई थी। उन्हें भारत सरकार द्वारा संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार और पद्मभूषण से सम्मानित किया गया।

Bankim Chandra

Bankim Chandra (26 June 1838– 8 April 1894)

The author of the 1882 Bengali language novel Anandamath, which is one of the landmarks of modern Bengali and Indian literature. He was the composer of Vande Mataram, written in highly Sanskritised Bengali, personifying India as a mother goddess. Set to music by Rabindranath Tagore, the song was taken up by many Indian nationalists, and is now the National Song.

यह गीत बंकिम चन्द्र चट्टोपाध्याय की एक ऐसी कृति है जो आज भी प्रत्येक भारतीय के हृदय को आन्दोलित करने की क्षमता रखती है। 27 वर्ष की उम्र में उन्होंने ‘दुर्गेश नंदिनी’ नाम का उपन्यास लिखा। इस ऐतिहासिक उपन्यास से ही साहित्य में उनकी धाक जम गई।

Gauhar Jaan

Gauhar Jaan (born Angelina Yeoward; 26 June 1873 – 17 January 1930) was an Indian singer and dancer from Kolkata. Popularly known as gramophone girl. Indians first celebrity singer. She was one of the first preference record music 78rpm record in India in 1902.
Born to a family of Armenian descent with his father working in India at the time she later grew up in Benaras with her mother.

She popularised light Hindustani classical music with her thumri, dadra, kajri, chaiti, bhajan, tarana renditions, and also mastered the technique of condensing performing the elaborate melody Hindustani classical style to just three and a half minutes for a record. गौहर जान ने 1902 से 1920 के बीच बंगाली, हिन्‍दुस्‍तानी, गुजराती, तमिल, मराठी, अरबी, फ़ारसी, पश्‍तो, फ्रेंच और अंग्रेज़ी समेत 10 से भी ज्‍यादा भाषाओं में 600 से भी अधिक गाने रिकॉर्ड किए। गौहर जान ने अपनी ठुमरी, दादरा, कजरी, चैती, भजन और तराना के जरिए हिन्‍दुस्‍तानी शास्‍त्रीय संगीत को दूर-दूर तक पहुंचाया।

Legendary producer Yash Johar passed away on June 26, 2004, at the age of 74. In his celebrated career, he has backed some masterpieces.

Yash Johar began his career as a publicist and a still photographer in the 1950s.

यश जौहर ने अपने करियर में कई सफल फिल्मों का निर्माण किया, जिनमें “दोस्ताना”, “अग्निपथ”, “कुछ कुछ होता है”, “कभी खुशी कभी गम”, और “कल हो ना हो” शामिल हैं। उनकी फिल्में अक्सर भव्य सेट, भारतीय परंपराओं और पारिवारिक मूल्यों को दर्शाती थीं।

उन्हें कुछ कुछ होता के लिए फिल्मफेयर पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।
