नीति आयोग जल प्रबंधन, संरक्षण और सतत विकास के प्रति जागरूकता और संवेदनशीलता पैदा करने के लिए कल से 15 दिवसीय ‘ जल उत्सव’ शुरू करने जा रहा है।
जल शक्ति मंत्रालय के पेयजल एवं स्वच्छता विभाग के राष्ट्रीय जल जीवन मिशन के साथ साझेदारी में 6-24 नवंबर, 2024 के बीच 20 आकांक्षी जिलों/ब्लॉकों में जल उत्सव मनाया जाएगा। 20 राज्यों में शुरू किए जा रहे इस महोत्सव में जल संसाधनों के संरक्षण और सुरक्षा में सामुदायिक भागीदारी की परिकल्पना की गई है। इसका उद्देश्य घरों में जल का सदुउपयोग और उपयोगिताओं एवं एजेंसियों के बीच जल प्रबंधन के प्रति जिम्मेदारी की भावना पैदा करना है। स्कूली छात्रों को जल प्रबंधन गतिविधियों में नामांकित किया जा रहा है, जिससे वे अपने परिवारों और समुदायों में बदलाव के रूप में कार्य कर सके।
Yes, the NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the National Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, and the Ministry of Jal Shakti, is set to launch a 15-day water festival, ‘Jal Utsav.’ This initiative, spanning 20 Aspirational Districts across 20 states, aims to raise awareness around water conservation, sustainable management, and efficient usage, fostering community involvement to secure the nation’s water resources.
The concept of Jal Utsav aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, inspired by the success of ‘Nadi Utsav’ (River Festival) discussed in December 2023 at the 3rd Chief Secretaries Conference. Through various community-driven activities, the festival seeks to empower individuals, particularly students, to become active agents of change within their families and communities, reinforcing the need for water stewardship in everyday life.
दो सप्ताह तक चलने वाले इस उत्सव की शुरुआत ‘जल बंधन’ से होगी – जिसमें प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्ति और स्थानीय नेतागण जल संपदाओं पर पवित्र धागा बांधेंगे। वे अपने-अपने ब्लॉक और जिलों की “जल संपदा पर तथ्य पत्रक” भी लॉन्च करेंगे। पखवाड़े में विभागीय गतिविधियों की योजना पर चर्चा करने के अलावा, लोग ‘जल उत्सव शपथ’ भी लेंगे, जिसमें जल संसाधनों को बनाए रखने और उनकी रक्षा करने का संकल्प लिया जाएगा, ताकि विवेकपूर्ण और सतत उपयोग सुनिश्चित हो सके। इस शपथ के माध्यम से, समुदायों को जल का उपयोग करते समय 5 आर: सम्मान करना, सीमित करना, पुनः उपयोग करना, पुनर्चक्रण और पुनर्भरण का पालन करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जा रहा है।
Throughout the fortnight, a series of engaging activities are planned, including the cleaning of water assets, the celebration of “Jal Sanchay Diwas” for water conservation, and the introduction of water management lessons in schools. Teachers will use stories, experiments, and field trips to educate students on water quality testing and sustainable practices. Students will also have the opportunity to visit water supply and treatment plants, further enhancing their understanding of water resource management. Additional events include a “Jal Utsav Run,” tree-planting drives under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, and skills development programs for Nal Jal Mitra under the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Self-help groups and ASHA workers will also take part, focusing on capacity-building for water conservation.

In Bihar, the ritual of Kharna is being performed today on the second day of Chhath Puja celebrations. After offering prayers to Sun God and her mother Chhati Maiya, devotees will consume Kheer and Roti as Kharna prasad. After the Kharna a 36 hours fast of devotees will begin in which they abstain water and food. More from our correspondent:
“Tomorrow, evening oblations or Sandhya Arghya will be offered to the setting Sun. The festival will culminate on 8th November with morning oblation to the rising Sun. Majority of devotees perform Chhath puja on the banks of rivers on specially decorated ghats. The festival symbolizes equality and respect without any discrimination in the society. This year several inmates in different jails are also observing Chhath Puja. In Khudiram Central jail in Muzaffarpur several muslim inmates are observing Chhath puja inside jail premises, where a small water body has been set up by the jail administration. अल्ट्रा मॉडर्न सुविधाओं एवं संसाधनों से युक्त प्रसव-प्रतीक्षालय में गर्भवती महिलाओं को प्रसव के एक से दो सप्ताह पूर्व से ही सभी जरूरी सुविधाएं एवं सहूलियतें प्रदान की जाएंगी। अरविंदो अस्पताल के प्रमुख डॉ. प्रमोद भंडारी ने बताया कि प्रसव-प्रतीक्षालय में जैसे ही कोई महिला प्रसव के लिए एडमिट होगी, उसकी 24 घंटे सतत निगरानी के साथ सभी तरह की सावधानियाँ रखनी शुरू कर दी जाएंगी। उन्हें ‘एंटीनेटल एक्सरसाइज कराने के साथ एंटीनेटल डाइट’ भी दी जाएगी। गर्भवती महिलाओं को ‘फिजियोथेरेपी, म्यूजिक थेरेपी, बर्थिंग वाथ एक्सरसाइज, अरोमा थेरेपी जैसी सुविधाएं भी प्रदान की जाएंगी। ‘फुली एयरकंडीशंड प्रसव-प्रतीक्षालय’ में मरीज के साथ आए परिजन की सुविधाओं का भी ख्याल रखा जाएगा। प्रसव प्रतीक्षालय का लोकार्पण मुख्यमंत्री डॉ मोहन यादव ने किया। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में देश और मध्य प्रदेश स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को क्षेत्र में तेजी से आगे बढ़ा रहा है। मेडिकल टूरिज्म डेवलपमेंट करने की सोच विकसित हो रही है। प्रसव-प्रतीक्षालय की पहल स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को और बेहतर बनाने में सहायक सिद्ध होगी।
उन्होंने कहा कि अरविंदो अस्पताल प्रबंधन का चिकित्सा सेवा भाव अनुकरणीय है। मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. यादव ने प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केन्द्र, सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केन्द्रों को गोद लेने की पहल का स्वागत करते हुए शासन की ओर से हर संभव सहयोग के लिये आश्वास्त किया। कार्यक्रम में डॉ. भंडारी ने बताया कि श्री अरविंदो विश्वविद्यालय, प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केन्द्र, सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केन्द्रों एवं सिविल अस्पतालों में शिशु-मातृ मृत्यु दर कम करने के लिए राज्य शासन के साथ काम करेंगे। शासन के एनआरएचएम के साथ ट्रेनिंग प्रोटोकॉल का विस्तृत मॉडल प्रोजेक्ट तैयार कर सबसे पहले इंदौर और उज्जैन में शुरू किया जाएगा। परिक्रमा के लिए भोपाल से मैं संजीव शर्मा

Ningol Chakkouba Festival is one of the biggest festivals of Manipur. The Festival is being organised on the Hiyanggei Nini Panba of the Meitei calendar. This year the festival was organised on 3rd of october across the state. The festival symbolised the bone of nerve between married women and their paternal family. The festival was organised in different states and countries where Manipuri’s reside.The main component of the festival is to have splendid feast and to give gifts to married women. The domestic benchmark indices today continued their upward momentum for the second consecutive session amid positive global cues. The 30-share BSE Sensex surged 901 points, or 1.13 percent, to close at 80,378, while the NSE Nifty50 added 271 points, or 1.12 percent, to settle at 24,484.
In the Global Crude Market, Brent Crude was trading 1.69 percent down at 74 dollars and 25 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude shed 1.67 percent to trade at 70 dollars and 79 cents per barrel. In the Indian bullion market, the 24 Karat Gold was trading down at 78,460 rupees for 10 grams, Silver 999 fine, is also trading down at 93,870 per one kilogram, when reports last came in.

The Indian Premier League’s 2025 mega auction will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. The event, scheduled at the Abady Al Johar Arena (Benchmark Arena), marks the second consecutive year the auction has moved overseas, following Dubai’s hosting in 2024.
A total of 1,574 players have registered for the auction by the November 4 deadline, comprising 1,165 Indian and 409 international cricketers. The player pool includes representatives from emerging cricket nations such as Italy, Canada, Netherlands, Scotland, USA, and UAE, alongside Full Member nations, with Pakistan being the only exception. Following the retention phase, franchises can build squads of up to 25 players, with 204 slots available for the taking.
Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, welcomed the development, describing it as a historic first for Saudi-India relations. “

Sanjeev Kumar was an Indian actor. He is well remembered for his versatility and genuine portrayal of his characters. He acted in genres ranging from romantic dramas to thrillers, and was voted the seventh greatest actor of Indian cinema of all time in a poll conducted by Rediff.com. His double role in the film Angoor was listed among the 25 best acting performances of Indian cinema by Forbes.
He won several major awards, including two National Film Awards for Best Actor for his performances in the movies Dastak (1970) and Koshish (1972). Unlike his peers, Kumar did not mind playing roles that were non-glamorous, such as characters well beyond his age. Movies such as iconic character Thakur in Sholay (1975) Arjun Pandit (1976) and Trishul (1978), along with the remakes of Tamil films into Hindi such as Khilona (1970), Naya Din Nai Raat (1974), Yehi Hai Zindagi (1977), Devata (1978) and Ram Tere Kitne Naam (1985) exemplify his versatility. He also did suspense-thriller films such as Shikar (1968), Uljhan (1975) and Trishna (1978) and Qatl (1986), Kumar also proved himself to do comedy in films such as Manchali (1973), Pati Patni Aur Woh (1978), Biwi-O-Biwi (1981) Angoor (1982) and Hero (1983).
संजीव कुमार का जन्म मुंबई में 9 जुलाई, 1938 को एक मध्यम वर्गीय गुजराती परिवार में हुआ था। वह बचपन से ही फ़िल्मों में बतौर अभिनेता काम करने का सपना देखा करते थे। इसी सपने को पूरा करने के लिए वह अपने जीवन के शुरुआती दौर में रंगमंच से जुड़े और बाद में उन्होंने फ़िल्मालय के एक्टिंग स्कूल में दाख़िला लिया।
वर्ष 1962 में राजश्री प्रोडक्शन की निर्मित फ़िल्म ‘आरती’ के लिए उन्होंने स्क्रीन टेस्ट दिया, जिसमें वह पास नहीं हो सके। सर्वप्रथम मुख्य अभिनेता के रूप में संजीव कुमार को वर्ष 1965 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘निशान’ में काम करने का मौक़ा मिला।
वर्ष 1968 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘संघर्ष’ में उनके सामने हिन्दी फ़िल्म जगत के अभिनय सम्राट दिलीप कुमार थे लेकिन संजीव कुमार अपनी छोटी सी भूमिका के जरिए दर्शकों में प्रसिद्ध रहे। इसके बाद ‘आशीर्वाद’, ‘राजा और रंक’, ‘सत्यकाम’ और ‘अनोखी रात’ जैसी फ़िल्मों में मिली कामयाबी के जरिए संजीव कुमार दर्शकों के बीच अपने अभिनय की धाक जमाते हुए ऐसी स्थिति में पहुंच गए जहां वह फ़िल्म में अपनी भूमिका स्वयं चुन सकते थे। वर्ष 1970 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘खिलौना’ की जबर्दस्त कामयाबी के बाद संजीव कुमार बतौर अभिनेता अपनी अलग पहचान बना ली।

Karan Dewan (born Dewan Karan Chopra; 6 November 1917 – 2 August 1979) was an Indian cinema actor in Hindi films. He worked in over seventy films from 1941 to 1979. He started as a journalist while still in college, editing a film-based magazine in Urdu. His brother was the film producer and director Jaimani Dewan. His decisive film was Rattan (1944), which was produced by his brother Jaimini Diwan, and this movie had turned out to be the biggest hit of 1944. He also sang songs in this movie under music director Naushad, and his song “Jab Tum Hi Chale Pardes” became popular.
He sang in films such as Piya Ghar Aaja (1947), Mitti Ke Khiloune (1948) and Lahore (1949).
