It was the day of Good Friday when Jesus was crucified by the Romans for the sins of humanity and he went saying the words ‘Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.’
Good Friday is being observed by Christians across the world today. Good Friday is a day of religious importance for Christians worldwide. Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. This day is of great importance in Christian theology, for it marks the start of the Passion of Christ and preceding the celebration of Easter Sunday, which is a symbol of his resurrection.
In Nagaland, Christians are holding special services and fasting. We have a report:
“In Nagaland, Good Friday is being observed with prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Many believers are attending special church services to commemorate Jesus’ suffering. While, church bells muffled as a sign of mourning.Believers of the Catholic denomination in the state capital Kohima are holding a procession carrying a wooden cross to symbolise the ultimate sacrifice of Christ Jesus for the mankind. The believers will also congregated in churches for special prayers to mark the day. For Akashvani, Asonuo from Kohima.”
गुड फ्राइडे का दिन ईसाई धर्म के लोगों के लिए बेहद महत्वपूर्ण है। गुड फ्राइडे के दिन प्रभु यीशु को सूली पर चढ़ाया गया था। जिस कारण.कई लोग गुड फ्राइडे वाले दिन शोक मनाते हैं। इसे ग्रेट फ्राइडे, होली फ्राइडे, ब्लैक फ्राइडे के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। गुड फ्राइडे का पर्व मानव समाज को प्रेम, ज्ञान और अहिंसा का संदेश देने के लिए मनाया जाता है। इस दिन ईसाई लोग काले रंग के कपड़े पहनकर प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा मांगते हैं और कई जगह प्रभु यीशु की पदयात्रा भी निकाली जाती है। मान्यता है कि रविवार के दिन यीशु ने येरुशलन में प्रवेश किया था। विद्वानों का मत है कि प्रभु ईसा गधे पर चढ़कर यरुशलम पहुंचे थे और लोगों ने खजूर की डालियां बताकर उनका स्वागत किया था, इसलिए इस दिन पाम संडे कहा जाता है। यहीं यरुशलम या जेरूसलम में उनके खिलाफ षड़यंत्र रचा गया और शुक्रवार को सूली पर लटका दिया गया। सूली पर लटाने की घटना को गुड फ्राइडे के नाम से जानते हैं।
Lord Jesus Christ was inspiring people to follow the path of goodness by preaching humanity, unity and non-violence. People with religious superstitions accused him of treason. They were sentenced to death and Lord Jesus was crucified. The day on which Lord Jesus was crucified is called Good Friday. Because of the sacrifice of Lord Jesus, this day is called Good Friday.
गुड फ्राइडे के तीसरे दिन यानी संडे को प्रभु ईसा मसीह दोबारा जीवित हो गए और 40 दिन तक लोगों के बीच उपदेश देते रहे। उनके दोबारा जीवित होने की घटना को ईस्टर संडे के रूप में मनाया जाता है। गुड फ्राइडे को चर्च में उनके जीवन के आखिरी पलों को दोहराया जाता है और लोगों की सेवा की जाती है। यह शोक का दिन है। इस दिन चर्च एवं घरों से सजावट की वस्तुएं हटा ली जाती हैं।लोग प्रभु यीशु की याद में काले वस्त्र धारण कर पदयात्रा निकालते हैं। इस दिन चर्च में कैंडल नहीं जलाई जातीं और न ही घंटियां बजाई जाती हैं। गुड फ्राइडे को लोग अपने गुनाहों की माफी मांगते हैं। गुड फ्राइडे को शाकाहारी और सात्विक भोजन पर जोर दिया जाता है।
To observe Good Friday, there are several customs and traditions in place and they slightly differ from one country to another. But, the most common ones include –
- Fasting and abstinence: On Good Friday, and the days leading up to it, many Christians fast and abstain from meat or certain types of food as a form of penance and discipline. Jesus’ sacrifice for his people and the pain he went through is remembered and people promise themselves to live a better life.
- Processions and reenactments: In some Churches and regions, people perform processions and reenactments of the Passion of Christ. Participants dress in biblical attire and enact scenes from Jesus’ trial, crucifixion, and burial.
- Reading of the scriptures: Reading and meditating on the Scriptures, particularly the accounts of Jesus’ arrest, trial, crucifixion, and death, are the main agendas of Good Friday. Many families and church groups gather to read these passages together, and take good lessons from them.
- Charity: Just like many other Holy days, where charity and giving is encouraged, Good Friday too comes in a similar spirit. Just like Jesus gave up on his life on Earth to enable others to live a life free of sin.

The women voter was never as important as she is now. They are increasingly getting recongnised to bridge the gardern garden gap. To attract more women voters to polling booths, the Election Commission is planning to set up ‘sakhi booths’ in areas where fewer women voted during the previous elections.
These model booths will be an all women with one women staff conducting the process. In Odisha, the staff in these booths will wear an Odisha handloom. More from Our Sambalpur Correspondent;
“Election Commission introduces ‘Sakhi Booths’ in Odisha to attract female voters to polling booths. The staff in these booths will wear an Odisha handloom. As per information, in every district of the state, at least 20% of polling booths will be model booths which will include youth-managed polling stations, PWD-managed polling stations, and around 10 percent sakhi or all women-managed polling stations. The process has started and the exact number of Sakhi booths to be set up in the state has not yet been decided. Earlier, these booths were known as pink booths. This year, the staff in these booths have been asked to wear Odisha handloom on the polling day, though they can wear whatever they feel like. The chief electoral officer (CEO) of Odisha said, “The participation of women voters in the past elections will be the first criterion for selection of places to set up Sakhi booths. With all-women booths in their locality, more and more women will feel encouraged to come out and vote. Every vote counts, and we would try to ensure that each voter must take part in this festival of democracy,” For Parikrama, Alok Chandra Barik, Akashvani Sambalpur.”

In Jammu and Kashmir, the youth, particularly the first time voters are enthusiastic to take part in the festival of democracy slated to commence from the next month. Elaborate security arrangements are being put in place by the election commission of India to ensure free, fair and smooth polling in the entire Union Territories for five Lok Sabha constituencies. To know more, let us listen to our Srinagar Correspondent:
“Like in other parts of the country, Lok Sabha election-related activities are gaining momentum in Jammu and Kashmir, as well. The voting in the Union Territory will be held in five phases. The first phase of voting will be held on April 19 for Udhampur Parliamentary seat. The elections in the second phase will be held for the Jammu parliamentary constituency on April 26. Voting in the Kashmir valley will start in the third phase as polls in Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary seat will be held on May 7. Subsequently, on May 13 polls will be held for Srinagar LS constituency in the fourth phase while as polls for Baramulla LS constituency will be held on May 20 in the fifth phase. So far, nominations for Udhampur Parliamentary seat have been filed by 15 candidates from major parties including BJP, Congress, DPAP and others. Senior BJP Leader, Dr Jitendra Singh, Congress Leader, Choudhary Lal Singh is some of the big wigs that will battle it out in the first phase. Notification for the second phase was issued on March 28, and many regional as well as the national parties besides independents are expected to submit their papers for the Jammu LS constituency. There are 86 lakh 94 thousand and 992 registered voters in the UT-about eight lakh more voters than the 2019 elections. Pertinently, there are three lakh 40 thousand first time voters and 42 lakh 59 thousand 82 female voters. A total of 11 thousand 629 polling stations have been set up across the UT where assured minimum facilities are ensured by the ECI. This is Sunil Koul for Akashvani News.”

“There are 28,921 first time voters in the Puducherry Parliamentary constituency and the Election Department is motivating them to cast their vote on the polling day without fail. Since youths are using social media in abundance, Instagram Reels competition on the theme of Elections was announced. Rallies are conducted and sports are organized to create a sense of responsibility in everyone’s mind about the forthcoming general elections. Both CEO and DEO used all the opportunities to make popular the mobile applications introduced by the Election Commission of India. Since the nomination process was over in Puducherry, CEO has requested the voters to use the Know your Candidate App to decide the candidate. This app gives the details of each candidate of the constituency as given in their affidavit. Based on the details of qualification, criminal antecedents, assets and liabilities, the voters can judge the candidates and choose the best by applying their mind. cVigil app has become active from the date of announcement of the elections and anyone can report unlawful activities and violation of model code of conduct through this app. Voter help line app is one stop solution for registration and election related services. One can generate Voter information slip through this app. SVEEP thus makes the voter as informed voter and helps to decide to whom to vote ethically. Moreover, the election department is trying to make this General Election as Green Election. So, both CEO and DEO appealed the voters to avoid vehicles on polling day and reach the polling booths by walk. The slogan Walk for Vote is attracting all walks of life in Puducherry. T. कल यानी 30 मार्च को राजस्थान स्थापना दिवस मनाया जाएगा। इस अवसर पर पूरे राज्य में कई कार्यक्रम आयोजित होंगे। राजस्थान जिसे ब्रिटिश हुकूमत में ‘राजपुताना’ के नाम से जाना जाता था। अलवर, भरतपुर, धौलपुर, करौली, जयपुर, जोधपुर, जैसलमेर और बीकानेर की रियासतों को 7 चरणों में एकीकृत कर इस संघीय ढांचे को 30 मार्च 1949 में अंतिम रूप दिया गया, और जयपुर को इसकी राजधानी बनाई गई। इसके बाद से प्रत्येक वर्ष इसी दिन राजस्थान स्थापना दिवस मनाया जा रहा है। इस साल 30 मार्च को राजस्थान अपनी स्थापना का हीरक जयंती (75वां वर्ष) मनाएगा। ब्यौरा हमारे संवाददाता से –

आज जन्म हुआ था प्रसिद्ध कवि तथा गांधीवादी विचारक भवानी प्रसाद मिश्र का। भवानी प्रसाद मिश्र उन गिने चुने कवियों में थे जो कविता को ही अपना धर्म मानते थे और आम जनों की बात उनकी भाषा में ही रखते थे। उन्होंने कवियों को नसीहत भी दी, जिस तरह हम बोलते हैं उस तरह तू लिख,और इसके बाद भी हम से बड़ा तू दिख।
अज्ञेय ने दूसरे तार-सप्तक में उनकी कविता को प्रकाशित किया। उनका प्रथम संग्रह ‘गीत-फ़रोश’ अपनी नई शैली, नई उद्भावनाओं और नये पाठ-प्रवाह के कारण काफ़ी लोकप्रिय हुआ। भवानीप्रसाद मिश्र का जन्म 29 मार्च 1914 में मध्य प्रदेश के होशंगाबाद ज़िले में हुआ था। इसके बाद अगले पांच साल उन्होंने वर्धा के महिलाश्रम में शिक्षा देते हुए बिताया। उनकी कविताओं में नये भारत का स्वप्न झलकता है। उनकी कविताएं परिवर्तन और सुधार की अभिव्यक्ति हैं। उन्होंने ख़ुद को कभी निराशा के गर्त में डूबने नहीं दिया।
कितने भी गहरे रहें गर्त,
हर जगह प्यार जा सकता है ;
कितना भी भ्रष्ट ज़माना हो,
हर समय प्यार भा सकता है ;
जो गिरे हुए को उठा सके
इससे प्यारा कुछ जतन नहीं,
दे प्यार उठा पाए न जिसे
इतना गहरा कुछ पतन नहीं ।
He was honoured with Sahitya Akademi Award in 1972 for his book Buni Hui Rassi. A Gandhian in thought and deeds, Mishra was deeply disturbed by the so-called effects of colonizaton in the country. He used to call it a kind of poisoned sweet in the garb of present English education system of India.

Utpal Dutt (born March 29, 1929, Barisal, Bengal [now in Bangladesh]-died August 19, 1993, Calcutta) Indian actor, director, and writer who was a radical figure in Bengali theatre and cinema for more than 40 years. His legacy of plays and other writing remain a valuable chapter in Indian theatre history. Dutt appeared in some 200 films, beginning with Michael Madhusudan (1950), and had considerable success as a director, particularly for Megh (1961), Jhar (1978), and Mother (1984). An intense, dramatic actor, he did some of his best work with the directors Satyajit Ray (Jana Aranya; Agantuk), Mrinal Sen (Bhuban Som; Chorus), and James Ivory (Shakespeare Wallah; The Guru). He also published books on Shakespeare and the revolutionary theatre.
वर्ष 1979 की सुपरहिट फ़िल्म ‘गोलमाल’ में उनके निभाए ‘भवानी शंकर’ का किरदार देखकर आज भी हंसी के फव्वारे छूट जाते हैं।
