The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.
The resolution places emphasis on involving young people, as future leaders, in community activities that include different cultures and promote international understanding and respect for diversity.

Over the years, the idea of commemorating the International Day of Friendship gained popularity and various nations began adopting the occasion. While July 30 is celebrated as International Friendship Day, it is observed on the first Sunday of August in some places.

World Day Against Trafficking In Persons

Globally, one in three victims of human trafficking is a child, and the majority of these trafficked children are girls.

According to the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons (GLOTIP) by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), children are twice as likely as adults to face violence during trafficking.

As a part of the global campaign of initiating actions against human trafficking, the World Day Against Trafficking In Persons is observed on July 30 every year.

The United Nations General Assembly established the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons back in 2013. This step was taken as a part of the Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons, which was adopted in 2010. Its objective was to fight against human trafficking in the United Nations’ broader development and security agendas. This day was observed as a way to raise awareness, take global action, and support victims of human trafficking. People around the globe come together to help survivors, recognise their trauma, and raise awareness to prevent trafficking.

उत्तर प्रदेश में हरित क्षेत्र को बढ़ाने के लिए प्रदेश की योगी सरकार गंभीरता से प्रयास कर रही है। पिछले छह वर्षों में उत्तर प्रदेश में पौधारोपण के साथ ही हरित क्षेत्र बढ़ाने के लिए कई बड़े कदम उठाए गए हैं। राज्य का कुल हरित क्षेत्र 2021-22 में 9.23 प्रतिशत था, जिसे 2026-27 तक बढ़ाकर 15 प्रतिशत करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।

उत्तर प्रदेश में बीत छह वर्षों में 168 करोड़ से अधिक पौधे रोपित किए गए हैं। वहीं इस वर्ष 20 जुलाई को वृक्षारोपण महाभियान के तहत प्रदेशभर में 36.50 करोड़ पौधरोपण किया गया।  सरकार विशेष कार्ययोजना के साथ अपने इन प्रयासों को आगे बढ़ा रही और लोगों को जागरूक करने की कोशिश कर रही है। इसी दिशा में सरकार ने मित्र वन बसाने का फैसला किया है। इसके तहत नेपाल के साथ ही प्रदेश के सीमावर्ती राज्यों से समन्वय स्थापित कर सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों पर ज्यादा से ज्यादा पौधे लगाकर हरियाली बढ़ाने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। इसके लिए 35 वन प्रभागों ने स्थानों का चयन कर लिया है। इस बारे में उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार में वन एवं पर्यावरण राज्यमंत्री अरुण सक्सेना ने बताया कि नेपाल के साथ ही दिल्ली, राजस्थान, बिहार, मध्य प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड जैसे राज्यों के सहयोग से सीमावर्ती क्षेत्र में ज्यादा से ज्यादा पेड़ लगाए जाएंगे।

With this win, Manu etched her name in the history of Indian sports by becoming the first Indian athelet to win two medals at the same edition of the Olympics. Sarabjot, on the other hand, got his first Olympic medal. Earlier, Manu won a bronze in the women’s 10m Air Pistol event.

Shuttler P V Sindhu and wrestler Sushil Kumar are the only two Indians to have won multiple Olympic medals but in separate Olympic games.
