Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a day-long visit to Chhattisgarh today. During his visit, Mr Modi will participate in the Silver Jubilee celebrations in capital Raipur, marking twenty-five years of the formation of the state. On the occasion, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of a series of developmental projects worth over 14,260 crore rupees. The Prime Minister will also attend four other programmes during his stay in the state’s capital.
“During his visit to Raipur today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with around two- thousand five hundred children as part of the ‘Dil Ki Baat’ programme in Shri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital. These children were successfully treated for congenital heart diseases in this hospital. Later, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris’ Shanti Shikhar, a modern centre dedicated to spiritual learning, peace, and meditation. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the new building of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and unveil the statue of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee installed there. Subsequently, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and visit the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and the Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museum developed in Nava Raipur. The museum showcases and preserves the legacy of courage, sacrifice and patriotism of the tribal communities of Chhattisgarh. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will participate in the Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee celebrations. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is participating in the 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia today. Mr Singh will address the forum on ‘Reflection on 15 years of ADMM-Plus and Charting the Way Forward’. The ADMM serves as the highest defence consultative and cooperative body within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Defence Minister yesterday took part in the 2nd ASEAN-India Defence Ministers’ Informal Meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Singh highlighted that ASEAN-India relationship remains a strong pillar of stability in today’s uncertain world, where many old beliefs and expectations are changing.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has unveiled the Aadhaar Vision 2032 framework to strengthen future-proof digital identity through AI, blockchain, quantum computing and advanced encryption. The Ministry of Electronics and IT yesterday noted that the framework will provide a comprehensive roadmap to redefine India’s digital identity ecosystem and accelerate next-generation digital governance for the next decade. The framework has been guided by a high-level expert committee of technology leaders to make Aadhaar compliant with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and global cyber security standards.

The campaign which was held between 17th September and 2nd October witnessed unprecedented community participation. The initiative set multiple records, including the highest number of people to register for a health care platform in a single month, numbering over three crore 21 lakh. It also achieved the record for most people to sign up for a breast cancer screening online in one week. Over Nine lakh ninety four thousand women had signed up for the screening.

The next-generation GST reforms have offered relief to the electronics sector by reducing tax burdens and making key devices more affordable. GST on televisions monitors and projectors now attract 18 percent GST instead of 28 percent, reducing costs for households, schools and offices. Similarly tax rates on air-conditioners and dishwashers have been lowered from 28 percent to 18 percent, making home-electronics accessible to more citizens. Furthermore, renewable-energy devices such as solar panels and composting machines which earlier attracted 12 percent GST are now placed under 5 percent tax slab, promoting green growth and sustainability.This move has supported domestic manufacturing, reduced import dependence and boosted sales across the sector.
