सरकार ने पांच किलोग्राम के एलपीजी सिलेंडर की बिक्री बढ़ा दी है। वैध पहचान पत्र दिखाने पर एलपीजी वितरक-काउंटर पर ये सिलेंडर उपलब्ध होंगे। पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस मंत्रालय ने बताया कि बढ़ती मांग पूरी करने के लिए आपूर्ति बढ़ाने के बाद 23 मार्च से पांच किलो के लगभग छह लाख साठ हजार सिलेंण्डरों की बिक्री हुई है। इन सिलेंडरों की कीमत बाजार दर पर रखी गई है और इनकी खरीद के लिए पता-प्रमाण की जरूरत नहीं है। मंत्रालय ने बताया कि एलपीजी वितरण केन्द्र पर इन सिलेंडरों की कमी की खबर नहीं है। चार अप्रैल को 51 लाख से अधिक घरेलू सिलेंडरों की आपूर्ति की गई और कुल मांग के 95 प्रतिशत की ऑनलाइन बुकिंग हुई।
जमाखोरी और कालाबाजारी रोकने के लिए सख्त निर्देश दिए गए हैं। मार्च से अब तक पचास हजार एलपीजी सिलेंडर जब्त किए गए हैं।

Amid the ongoing war in West Asia, Air India has suspended its flights to Israel. An Air India official said that the airline has suspended flights on the New Delhi-Tel Aviv route till May 31. Most of the leading airlines have suspended their operations on the Tel Aviv route with only Israeli carriers operating under severe restrictions. The suspension of flights has caused major worries among more than 40 thousand Indians living in Israel who wish to travel to India for personal or professional reasons, or even to escape the escalating tensions in the region. Indians looking to leave Israel have to go through Jordan or Egypt by entering the two countries through the land crossings. The Indian mission in Tel Aviv has been assisting those looking to travel through various means.

With just 74 days remaining for the International Day of Yoga, the Ministry of AYUSH has organized a grand Yoga Festival tomorrow at Lonar in the Vidarbha region to promote the practice of yoga. Union Minister of AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, appealed to citizens to participate in large numbers during a press conference held in Buldhana. As part of the ‘Yoga Mahotsav 2026’ initiative, the Ministry is conducting a 100-day campaign leading up to International Yoga Day. Under this initiative, the event at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Udyan near Lonar Lake is expected to witness participation from around 7,000 yoga practitioners. The minister also informed that an attempt will be made to enter the Asian Book of Records by performing Trikonasana simultaneously with the highest number of participants.

The Indian Navy’s frontline warship, INS Trikand, arrived at Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania, as part of its deployment in the South West Indian Ocean Region. The visit is aimed at strengthening cooperation and friendly relations between India and Tanzania.
In a statement, Ministry of Defence said that engagements during the port call include professional interactions – joint training activities with the Tanzania Navy. The training will enhance interoperability and maritime cooperation.

दिल्ली
दिल्ली पुलिस की अपराध शाखा ने कल सरकारी अस्पतालों की मुफ्त दवाओं की अवैध हेराफेरी करने वाले एक संगठित गिरोह का भंडाफोड़ कर पांच आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस के अनुसार आरोपी के पास से अवैध वाहन के साथ एंटीबायोटिक्स और जीवन-रक्षक दवाएं बड़ी मात्रा में बरामद की गई हैं। पुलिस ने बताया कि मामले में आगे की जांच जारी है।
इसके अतिरिक्त पुलिस ने दिल्ली में नकली दवाइयां बनाने वाले एक गिरोह का भंडाफोड़ कर शाहदरा से छह आरोपी को गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस ने बताया कि आरोपी के पास से 12 लाख से अधिक नकली दवाईयां जब्त की गईं। वहीं, अपराध शाखा के पुलिस उपायुक्त आदित्य गौतम ने बताया कि आरोपी वर्ष 2011-12 से नकली दवाओं का काम कर रहे थे।

दिल्ली पुलिस की अपराध शाखा ने कल अंतरराष्ट्रीय ऑनलाइन निवेश संगठित साइबर धोखाधड़ी गिरोह का भंडाफोड़ किया है। इस मामले में दिल्ली पुलिस ने 11 आरोपी सहित मुख्य आरोपी को कोलकाता हवाई अड्डे से गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस के अनुसार आरोपियों के पास से 48 मोबाइल फोन, दो सौ 58 सिम कार्ड, कई एटीएम कार्ड और चेकबुक, 4 लैपटॉप, बैंकिंग और केवाईसी दस्तावेज़, 19 लाख रुपए ज़ब्त किए गए। पुलिस ने बताया कि मामले में जांच जारी है।

दिल्ली सरकार ने गोदामों से सीधे एलपीजी सिलिंडर की बिक्री पर पूरी तरह प्रतिबंद्ध लगा दिया है। तेल विपणन कंपनियों ने सभी वितरकों को स्पष्ट निर्देश जारी किया है कि इस तरह कोई भी बिक्री गैर कानूनी मानी जाएगी और इसपर कड़ी कार्रवाई होगी। सरकार ने रसोई गैस को आम लोगों के लिए, विशेषकर उनके लिए जिनके पास समुचित पते का प्रमाण नहीं है, अधिक सुलभ बनाने के लिए पूरे शहर में पांच किलो के सिलिंडर की उपलब्धता बढा दी है। प्रवासी मजदूरों की मदद के लिए हिन्दुस्तान पेट्रोलियम निगम लिमिटेड के बिक्री केन्द्रों पर 11 हेल्प डेस्क बनाए गए हैं।

IIT Madras is developing a new technology to reduce noise at busy city junctions. The system uses acoustic resonators and barriers to absorb and block sound. According to Prof. S.M.Shiva Nagendra, Department of civil engineering IIT-M, the goal is to cut noise levels by 30–40 decibels. It will use materials like porous structures, PVC-based resonators, and plants to reduce sound. The system may be installed at noisy areas such as the Cancer Institute junction in Chennai.

महाराष्ट्र ने तटीय सुरक्षा को बेहतर बनाने के लिए समुद्री क्षेत्र जागरूकता (एमडीए) ऐप लॉन्च किया है। भारतीय नौसेना और आईआईटी मद्रास के सहयोग से विकसित यह ऐप छोटी नौकाओं पर नज़र रखने में सहायक है। मछुआरों और नौका संचालकों को संदिग्ध गतिविधियों की सूचना देने के लिए ऐप से लैस फोन दिए जाएंगे। इसका उद्देश्य 2008 के हमलों जैसी घटनाओं को रोकना है। परीक्षण के दौरान इसने 100 नौकाओं पर नज़र रखी। निगरानी माहिम सागरी पुलिस स्टेशन से की जा रही है और इसके विस्तार की योजना है।

मुंबई महानगर क्षेत्र विकास प्राधिकरण ने महाराष्ट्र सरकार के साथ मिलकर मॉस्को सरकार के साथ 10 साल का समझौता किया है। यह साझेदारी शहरी विकास, अवसंरचना, पर्यटन, स्वास्थ्य सेवा और कौशल विकास पर केंद्रित होगी। इसका उद्देश्य वैश्विक विशेषज्ञता को शामिल करना, शहर नियोजन में सुधार करना और मुंबई को एक प्रमुख आर्थिक केंद्र के रूप में विकसित होने में सहयोग देना है।

Bengaluru Central City Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholan has directed officials to work in coordination for Census-2027 and avoid any lapses during a meeting held in Bengaluru. Six training centers have been set up across Assembly constituencies to train enumerators, with supervisory teams led by Revenue Officers at each center. Training will be held from today till 8th of this month, ahead of the survey scheduled from April 16 to May 15, 2026. Attendance is mandatory, and strict action including legal proceedings, suspension, and loss of pay will be taken against staff who fail to report for duty.

Amid summer, 324 villages in Karnataka are facing drinking water scarcity due to drying sources and reduced borewell yield. Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge said water is being supplied to affected villages through tankers and leased private borewells, with priority given to borewell sourcing. The government is also conducting water quality checks, setting up control rooms, and deploying rapid response teams, while taking measures like borewell flushing and limited new drilling.

आगामी विधानसभा चुनावों से पहले राज्य भर में तलाशी अभियान के दौरान चुनाव आयोग ने 319 करोड़ रुपये की अवैध वस्तुएं जब्त की हैं। मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी के कार्यालय के अनुसार, जब्त की गई वस्तुओं में 55 करोड़ रुपये की शराब, 39 करोड़ रुपये की कीमती धातुएं और 150 करोड़ रुपये के उपहार शामिल हैं। आयोग ने यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सख्त निर्देश जारी किए हैं कि इन तलाशी अभियानों के दौरान आम जनता को किसी भी प्रकार की परेशानी न हो। इसके अलावा, शिकायतों के निवारण के लिए जिला स्तरीय शिकायत निवारण समितियां गठित की गई हैं।

Today we are remembering Merle Haggard who was one of country music’s most versatile artists, stylistically mining honky-tonk, blues, jazz, pop, and folk. He stands as the single most influential singer-songwriter in country music history. Haggard’s repertory ranged wide: aching ballads (“Silver Wings”), sly, frisky narratives (“It’s Been a Great Afternoon”), semi-autobiographical reflections (“Mama Tried”), political commentaries (“Rainbow Stew”), proletarian homages (“Workin’ Man Blues”), and drinking songs that are jukebox, cover-band, and closing-time standards (“I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink”).Haggard’s acolytes are legion and include many of country music’s brightest and lesser lights, as well as thousands of nightclub musicians.
As fiddler Jimmy Belken, a longtime member of Haggard’s exemplary touring band, the Strangers, once told the New Yorker, “If someone out there workin’ music doesn’t bow deep to Merle, don’t trust him about much anything else.”

आज जंयती है सुचित्रा सेन की जो हिन्दी एवं बांग्ला फ़िल्मों की प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री थीं। वे प्रथम बांग्ला अभिनेत्री हैं जिनको किसी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय चलचित्र महोत्सव में पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया। उत्तम कुमार के साथ अभिनय करने के कारण वे सारे पश्चिम बंगाल में अत्यन्त जनप्रिय हुईं। उत्तम-सुचित्रा की जोड़ी आज भी बांग्ला चलचित्र की श्रेष्ठ जोड़ी मानी जाती है।
उन्हें ‘सात पाके बांधा’ के लिए 1963 में मॉस्को फ़िल्म फेस्टिवल में सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेत्री का पुरस्कार मिला था। सुचित्रा सेन ने 1955 में ‘देवदास’ में पारो का किरदार निभाया था, ये उनकी पहली हिंदी फ़िल्म भी थी। लोगों की नज़रों से दूर और एकांत में रहने के लिए 2005 में सुचित्रा सेन ने दादा साहब फालके पुरस्कार लेने से इनकार कर दिया था। सुचित्रा सेन अभिनीत फ़िल्म ‘आंधी’ के रिलीज के 20 हफ्तों बाद ही इसे गुजरात में प्रतिबंधित कर दिया गया था। 1977 में जनता पार्टी के सत्ता में आने के बाद ही इससे रोक हटाई गई। फ़िल्मों से अपने रिटायरमेंट के बाद से ही सुचित्रा सेन लोगों की नजरों से दूर रहीं और अपना समय रामकृष्ण मिशन में लगाया। सुचित्रा सेन ने फ़िल्म ‘देवी चौधराइन’ के लिए सत्यजीत रे का ऑफर ठुकरा दिया था। जिसके बाद सत्यजीत रे ने ये फ़िल्म कभी नहीं बनाई। फ़िल्मफेयर में सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेत्री के लिए उन्हें दो बार नामित किया गया। 1963 में फ़िल्म ‘ममता’ और 1976 में फ़िल्म ‘आंधी’ के लिए। 1972 में भारत सरकार द्वारा पद्मश्री पुरस्कार मिला।
We are remembering Suchitra Sen, the legendary actress widely known as the “Mahanayika” (Great Actress) of Bengali cinema..She formed one of Indian cinema’s most enduring romantic pairs with Uttam Kumar. Together, they starred in 30 of her 60 films, including classics like Saptapadi (1961) and Harano Sur (1957).
2012 में उन्हें पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार का सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार ‘बंगो बिभूषण’ दिया गया। उनकी सर्वाधिक चर्चित फिल्मों में शामिल है- देवदास, बंबई का बाबू, ममता और आंधी।
