Another LPG shipment has arrived at Vadinar Port in Gujarat. The ship, Jag Vasant, carrying 47,000 metric tons of LPG, departed from Kuwait and successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz. The Madras High Court has directed Geetham Chain of Restaurants to refrain from using a trademark similar to that of Sangeetha chain of restaurants and to pay profit earned between June 1, 2022 and November 2, 2023 by using such a trademark to Sangeetha. Justice Senthil Kumar has imposed 10 lakh rupees cost on Geetham to be paid to Sangeetha for court fees, lawyers fee and expenses. The Court passed the order on a suit moved by Sangeetha Caterers and Consultants LLP against Rasnam from using a trademark deceptively similar to its mark.

Today is the birth anniversary of Mangalam Chinnaswamy, an eminent Indian cricket administrator and lawyer.
He served as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India from 1977 to 1980 and as Secretary from 1960 to 1965. He also held key positions as Vice President and Joint Secretary for extended periods. He represented India at the International Cricket Council in 1965, 1973, and from 1977 to 1980.
He was one of the founders of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and played a crucial role in the construction of the KSCA stadium in Bengaluru. With the support of several eminent personalities, he successfully persuaded the Karnataka government to allot land for cricket near MG Road in 1969. The stadium was later named in his honour as the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

सहज लेखन और सहज व्यक्तित्व का नाम है, भवानी प्रसाद मिश्र। कविता और साहित्य के साथ-साथ राष्ट्रीय आंदोलन में जिन कवियों की सक्रिय भागीदारी थी, उनमें भवानी प्रसाद मिश्र भी प्रमुख थे। गांधीवाद पर आस्था रखने वाले मिश्र की कविताएं हिंदी की सहज लय की कविताएं हैं। इस सहजता का संबंध महात्मा गांधी के चरखे की लय से भी जुड़ता है, इसीलिए उन्हें ‘कविता का गांधी’ भी कहा गया। 29 मार्च 1913 को मध्य प्रदेश के होशंगाबाद के टिगरिया में जन्मे भवानी प्रसाद मिश्र जिस किसी विषय को उठाते, उसे घरेलू बना लेते। ‘आंगन का पौधा’, ‘शाम और दूर दिखती पहाड़ की नीली चोटी’ भी जैसे परिवार का एक अंग हो जाती है। वृद्धावस्था और मृत्यु के प्रति भी एक आत्मीय स्वर मिलता है। उन्होंने प्रौढ़ प्रेम की कविताएं भी लिखी, जिनमें सहजीवन के सुख-दुख और प्रेम की व्यंजना है। 1930 में उन्होंने लिखा, ‘जिस तरह हम बोलते हैं उस तरह तू लिख, और उसके बाद ही हमसे बड़ा तू दिख।’ यह भवानी प्रसाद मिश्र की ओर से रचित एक प्रसिद्ध कविता के बोल हैं, जो साहित्य में सहजता, बोलचाल की भाषा और सादगी की वकालत करते हैं। “

He was active in the film industry from the mid-1940s to the late 1980s. Beginning his career in Marathi theatre, he transitioned into Marathi cinema and later Hindi films. He gained popularity for his comic timing and later moved into character roles.

He has composed, written, and sung for numerous Bengali films. In 2015, he made his Bollywood debut with the film Piku, where he composed the songs and background score. He was nominated for the 61st Filmfare Award for Best Music Director and won the award for Best Background Score.
