प्रधानमंत्री ने ई-एन.ए.एम. और डिजिटल सार्वजनिक अवसंरचना के विकास का उल्लेख करते हुए कृषि में प्रौद्योगिकी संस्कृति का जिक्र किया। उन्होंने किसान पहचान पत्र जारी करने और डिजिटल भूमि सर्वेक्षण को परिवर्तनकारी कदम बताया श्री मोदी ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि सरकार ने तीन करोड़ लखपति दीदियों को सृजित करने का लक्ष्य सफलतापूर्वक हासिल कर लिया है और देश ने 2029 तक तीन करोड़ और लखपति दीदियों को जोड़ने का लक्ष्य रखा है।

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over 3,770 crore rupees in Odisha yesterday. These include development initiatives of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), the Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) as well as various projects of the state government. Mr Shah also inaugurated Sulphuric Acid Plant-III at Paradip unit of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) Limited.
Mr Shah also addressed a Cooperative Development Seminar in Bhubaneswar. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi were among those present at the event.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Shah said, the projects launched during the day mark an important step in the development of Odisha. He said the sulphuric acid plant at Paradip will help strengthen domestic production and contribute to making the country self-reliant in the chemical. He added that in the coming years, organisations such as IFFCO and KRIBHCO would work together to help make India self-sufficient in sulphuric acid production.
Referring to internal security, Mr Shah said the Centre has intensified efforts to eliminate Left-wing extremism and expressed confidence that the country will be free from Naxalism by the end of this month. He added that the government is working to accelerate development in regions that were affected by Naxalism and to ensure that tribal communities benefit from development initiatives.
The Home Minister also laid the foundation stone for a campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Odisha and inaugurated its temporary campus. Mr Shah saids the government is expanding forensic infrastructure across the country by establishing forensic science laboratories and NFSU campuses to strengthen the criminal justice system. He also said Odisha has achieved a conviction rate of more than 87 per cent in FIRs registered under the new criminal laws, adding that scientific investigation methods and forensic evidence are helping strengthen law enforcement. Highlighting the cooperative sector, Mr Shah said, the Centre and the Odisha government would work together to build a strong cooperative base in every village in the state, similar to the Amul model.
The Union Minister also said India has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy in the world and noted that several free trade agreements have been signed in recent years to boost economic growth and global trade.
Mr Shah said, the Centre and the Odisha government will work together to accelerate development in the state and make up for what he described as lost development over the past two decades.

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar met leaders of various countries on the sidelines of Raisina Dialogue 2026 in New Delhi. Dr Jaishankar held bilateral talks with his counterparts from Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Mauritus, Kenya, Malta, Seychelles and Rwanda yesterday. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar informed that during his meeting with Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka, Vijitha Herath, the two leaders held a warm discussion on their bilateral ties and regional situation. He asserted that Vision MAHASAGAR and Neighbourhood First continue to guide their endeavours. During his interaction with Bhutan counterpart Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepen their unique partnership. On his meeting with Mauritian Foreign Minister Dhananjay Ritish Ramful, Dr Jaishankar said, they emphasized their commitment to further enhanced strategic partnership. With his counterpart from Kenya Musalia W Mudavadi, the External Affairs Minister discussed realising the full potential of their ties. On his interaction with Malta’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ian Borg, Dr Jaishankar appreciated his insights on the maritime industry. The conflict in West Asia entered its eighth day today. US President Donald Trump ruled out any deal with Iran, calling for its unconditional surrender. On social media, Trump said the US and its allies will work to help rebuild Iran economically once it agrees to capitulate.
Talking to reporters, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the US is progressing toward controlling Iranian airspace and expects objectives to be achieved within four to six weeks.
On the Iranian side, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that some countries have begun mediation efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel. In a social media post, he said, Iran is committed to lasting peace in the region yet they have no hesitation in defending nation’s dignity and sovereignty.

EMRI Green Health Services, an agency outsourced by the State Government for emergency services has turned to QR codes and WhatsApp chatbots to help users share their location. Under the new system, the patients or attendants can scan a QR code to access the TN Health Systems Project, a chatbot available on the WhatsApp Number. After sending “hi ” triggers a welcome message prompting them to select an ambulance from a list of services . Then they click send location after which 108 staff call and gather emergency details before dispatching an appropriate ambulance. Callers then receive the ambulance number , driver’s name and live tracking via WhatsApp and SMS. During traditional 108 calls , call centre staff take an average of 2.32 minutes to gather details from callers, sometimes stretching to 13 minutes , data show.

The Chief Commissioner of railway safety carried out a statutory inspection of the long awaited 4.5 km MRTS extension between Velachery and St.Thomas Mount. The inspection was arrived at to verify whether the line meets all operational and passenger safety standards before launch. The service would start on March 10. The new stretch is expected to significantly improve rail connectivity in South Chennai and other commuters easier interchange options. CCRS Janak Kumar Gard inspected the corridor through a motor trolley run between St. Thomas Mount and Velachery.The exercise evaluated the line up and down rail lines, Checking the track structure ballast profile, gradients and overall parenthand overall riding quality.

European aerospace giant Airbus yesterday inaugurated a state-of-the-art technology centre in Bengaluru, marking a major expansion of its strategic footprint in India. Spread across about 8.8 lakh square feet, the new facility is designed to accommodate around 5,000 employees, the company said. It will serve as a hub for engineering, digital transformation, customer service and procurement, strengthening Airbus’s ‘Make in India’ initiatives. Work carried out at the centre will support the entire aircraft lifecycle, with engineers and digital specialists contributing to the maintenance and optimisation of Airbus’s commercial aircraft and helicopter programmes.

Police in Bengaluru detained 124 Bangladeshi nationals during an early-morning operation on Friday in areas under Kadugodi and Varthur police stations. The detainees include 48 men, 42 women, and 34 children who were living in makeshift sheds. The action is part of an ongoing drive to trace illegal foreign nationals in the city, with around 200 people detained so far. Officials said the cases have been reported to the FRRO for verification and further action, including possible deportation.

The Telangana state government has launched its ambitious 99-day action plan called ‘Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika’ across the state yesterday. The programme will continue until June 12th. The Congress government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is organising this initiative for the third time, with the aim of solving public problems. As part of this programme, Gram Sabhas and Ward Sabhas will be held across the state. Over ten weeks, one government department will be given special focus each week. Week-long events will be held on topics such as rural development, health, welfare, farmers’ welfare, and women’s empowerment etc. As part of this plan, job fairs will be organised in all districts to provide employment to one lakh youth. Pending files in government offices will also be cleared. Opening new buildings under the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme and supporting business development are among the key goals. All elected representatives from Sarpanches to Members of Parliament will be made partners in this initiative. Special stalls will be set up by various departments to create awareness about government schemes.

गोविंद बल्लभ पंत (1887-1961)
भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन और देश के लोकतांत्रिक इतिहास में जिन नेताओं का योगदान अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है, उनमें गोविंद बल्लभ पंत का नाम प्रमुखता से लिया जाता है। आज गोविंद बल्लभ पंत की पुण्यतिथि है। उनका जन्म उत्तराखंड के अल्मोड़ा ज़िले में हुआ था और वे प्रारम्भ से ही राष्ट्रसेवा के प्रति समर्पित रहे। वे महात्मा गांधी के विचारों से गहराई से प्रभावित थे। स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन के दौरान उन्होंने कई आंदोलनों में भाग लिया और जेल भी गए। स्वतंत्रता के बाद वे उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री बने और राज्य के प्रशासनिक ढाँचे को मजबूत बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। बाद में वे भारत के गृहमंत्री भी बने और राष्ट्रीय एकता को सुदृढ़ करने के लिए कई महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय लिए। उनकी सेवाओं के सम्मान में भारत सरकार ने उन्हें 1957 (सत्तावन) में देश के सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया। राष्ट्रनिर्माण में उनका योगदान आज भी प्रेरणा देता है।

John Herschel was an English polymath, perhaps best known as the inventor of the blueprint; a process which allowed the rapid duplication of technical and engineering drawings by using a photosensitive compound.
Herschel was further prominent in astronomy, naming the seven moons of Saturn and four moons of Uranus. The latter planet, Uranus, had in fact been discovered by his father Sir William Herschel. Alongside mathematical and theoretical contributions, Herschel was also involved in photographic and optical studies as well as botanical work.

अब हम बात करेंगे दयाराम साहनी के बारे में, आज उनकी पुण्यतिथि है। भारतीय पुरातत्त्व के इतिहास में दयाराम साहनी का नाम विशेष सम्मान के साथ लिया जाता है। वे उन अग्रणी पुरातत्त्व-विदों में थे जिन्होंने प्राचीन भारतीय सभ्यताओं के अध्ययन में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया। वे लंबे समय तक भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण से जुड़े रहे और अनेक ऐतिहासिक स्थलों की खोज और अध्ययन में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाई। सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि उन्होंने 1920 के दशक में पंजाब के हड़प्पा क्षेत्र में खुदाई का कार्य प्रारम्भ कराया। इसी खुदाई से प्राचीन सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता के अस्तित्व के महत्वपूर्ण प्रमाण सामने आए। उनके शोध और खोजों ने भारतीय इतिहास की समझ को एक नया आयाम दिया। भारतीय पुरातत्त्व में उनका योगदान हमेशा याद किया जाता है।

Veteran music director Ravi Shankar Sharma, popularly known as Ravi who gave several hit songs like Chaudhvin Ka Chand Ho” and “Dil Ke Aarman Aansu Bankey Rah Gaye”, died here tonight following prolonged illness, family sources said. 86-year-old Ravi, who has composed music for over 70 Hindi and 14 Malayalam filmsRavi began his career in 1955 by composing the music for “Albeli” and went to do the same for movies like “Dilli Ka Thug” (1958), “Humraaz” (1967), “Neelkamal” (1968), “Ek Phool Do Maali” (1969) and “Mehendi” (1984).

आज जयंती है – हिन्दी साहित्य में प्रयोगवाद और आधुनिक चेतना को नई दिशा देने वाले महान साहित्यकार ‘अज्ञेय’ की। उनका पूरा नाम सच्चिदानंद हीरानंद वात्स्यायन था, लेकिन साहित्य जगत में वे ‘अज्ञेय’ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुए। उनकी रचनाओं में गहरी संवेदनशीलता, आधुनिक विचार और भाषा की विशिष्ट शैली देखने को मिलती है। वे केवल कवि ही नहीं, बल्कि कथाकार, उपन्यासकार, पत्रकार और संपादक भी थे। उनका प्रसिद्ध उपन्यास Shekhar: Ek Jivani हिन्दी साहित्य की महत्वपूर्ण कृतियों में गिना जाता है। इसके अलावा ‘हरी घास पर क्षण भर’ और ‘आँगन के पार द्वार’ जैसी काव्य रचनाएँ भी अत्यंत चर्चित रहीं। हिन्दी साहित्य में उनके योगदान के लिए उन्हें ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया। अज्ञेय ने हिन्दी साहित्य को आधुनिक दृष्टि और नई अभिव्यक्ति प्रदान की।

But Viv Richards was not a slogger. 8000+ Test runs at a 50+ average with 24 centuries cannot possibly come from mere slogging. Add to that the 5 centuries he made in World Series cricket, and Richards will comfortably fall into one of the all-time best Test batsmen. He made his Test debut in 1974 in India, and scored an unbeaten 192 in his very second game. Just 2 years later, in 1976, Richards scored 1710 runs at an average of 90 with 7 centuries from 11 Tests. It remained a record for almost 30 years, until it was broken by Mohammad Yousuf in 2006. He also scored the fastest ever Test century, when he smashed a ton in just 56 balls against England in 1986.
