A Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, on September 11, had reserved its decision after hearing oral arguments over 10 days from Attorney General R. Venkataramani and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta for the Centre, as well as from Opposition-ruled states, including Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh, who opposed the Presidential reference.

Anna University has decided to suspend course affiliation to more than 100 engineering colleges for showing fake faculty members over two academic years. The University issued show cause notices to 82 engineering colleges to suspend affiliation to 188 programs which had upto 45 percent fake faculty members for the 2024-25 academic year. It also levied a penalty of 3 lakh to 5 lakh rupees on 163 engineering colleges for showing more than two fake faculty members.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कल प्रधानमंत्री किसान सम्मान निधि योजना की 21वीं किस्त वितरित की। इसके तहत, महाराष्ट्र के 90 लाख 41 हजार 241 पात्र किसान परिवारों के खातों में 1 हजार 808 करोड़ 25 लाख रुपये जमा किए जाएंगे। महाराष्ट्र के कृषि मंत्री दत्तात्रेय भरणे ने एक बयान में कहा कि यह किस्त रबी सीज़न के लिए किसानों को आवश्यक वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करेगी।

President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate 2nd edition of Bharatiya Kalamahotsav at Rashtrapathi Nilayam at Bollaram tomorrow evening. The 10-day festival will showcase traditions from Western India in Hyderabad with states Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Goa, and UTs Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu taking part in the Kalamahotsav.
Speaking at a poster launch at Rashtrapati Nilayam last evening, Rashtrapati Bhavan OSD, Swati Shahi and PRO Kumar Samresh informed the media that the Western India Kalamahotsava is expected to draw a larger audience than last year. The inaugural edition attracted more than 1 lakh visitors, and this year’s turnout is projected at around 1.5 lakh.

During the Bengaluru Tech Summit in the State Capital of Karnataka yesterday, the Government signed MoU under the flagship programme of Local Economy Accelerator Program that is LEAP, Elevate next Deeptech and Elevate Beyond Bengaluru. Elevate is a grant in aid seed funding scheme designed to empower early stage startups in the state. The Electronics Sector Skills Council that functions under the State Government signed an MoU with Marvell Semiconductor company to train 90 women in VLSI design and embedded skills. The beneficiaries will be from tier 2 and tier 3 cities who will gain industry relevant, job ready semiconductor skills as part of their academic pathway. The Government also signed Letter of Intent with leading innovators and enterprises in semi con, EV battery and biotech sector to boost state’s manufacturing and innovation landscape.

मिलखा सिंह (अंग्रेज़ी: Milkha Singh, जन्म- 20 नवंबर, 1929; मृत्यु- 18 जून, 2021) भारत के ऐसे प्रसिद्ध धावक थे जिन्हें लोग फ्लाइंग सिक्ख के नाम से जानते हैं। सन 1956 में मेलबर्न में आयोजित हुए ओलंपिक खेलों में उन्होंने पहली बार 200 मीटर और 400 मीटर की रेस में भाग लिया था। मिलखा सिंह ने 1958 में कटक में आयोजित नेशनल गेम्स में 200 मीटर और 400 मीटर स्पर्धा में रिकॉर्ड बनाए। इसके बाद उसी साल टोक्यो में आयोजित हुए एशियन गेम्स में उन्होंने 200 मीटर और 400 मीटर की दौड़ में भी गोल्ड मेडल अपने नाम किया। साल 1958 में ही इंग्लैंड के कार्डिफ में आयोजित कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में मिलखा सिंह ने एक बार फिर अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवाते हुए 400 मीटर की रेस में गोल्ड मेडल अपने नाम किया। उस समय आज़ाद भारत में कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में भारत को स्वर्ण पदक दिलाने वाले वे पहले भारतीय थे।
और यह बहुत कम लोग जानते होंगे कि मिल्खा सिंह ने अपनी जीवनी पर फिल्म बनाने की अनुमति देने के बदले निर्माता राकेश ओम प्रकाश मेहरा से मात्र एक रुपया लिया। इस एक रुपये की खास बात यह कि एक रुपये का यह नोट सन् 1958 का है, जब मिल्खा ने राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों में पहली बार भारत के लिए स्वर्ण पदक जीता था।
