The notification for second phase of Assembly elections in Bihar will be issued today. With this, the nomination process for 122 assembly constituencies across 20 districts will begin. The last date for filing nominations for the second phase is 20th October.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on 21st October, and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is 23rd October. Voting for this phase will be held on 11th November. Nominations can be filed between 11 AM and 3 PM.
Election Commission has made strict security arrangements at the nomination centers. Counting of votes for both phases of the 243-member Bihar Assembly elections will take place on 14th November.
A total of 7.42 crore voters will exercise their franchise in the assembly elections.
In the second phase, polling will be held in West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, and Katihar districts. In addition, voting will also take place in Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Arwal, Kaimur, and Rohtas districts.

सत्तारूढ़ राष्ट्रीय जनतंत्रिक गठबंधन-एनडीए ने बिहार विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए सीट बंटवारे की घोषणा कर दी है। इसके बाद कल रात नई दिल्ली में भारतीय जनता पार्टी की केंद्रीय चुनाव समिति की बैठक हुई। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी, गृहमंत्री अमित शाह, रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह, भाजपा अध्यक्ष जे.पी नड्डा और पार्टी के अन्य वरिष्ठ नेता बैठक में शामिल हुए। इस बैठक का उद्देश्य पार्टी की चुनावी रणनीति और उम्मीदवारों की सूची को अंतिम रूप देना था। समझौते के अनुसार भारतीय जनता पार्टी और जनता दल यूनाइटेड 101 – 101 सीटों पर चुनाव लडेंगे। लोक जनशक्ति पार्टी- रामविलास गुट को 29 तथा हिन्दुस्तानी अवाम मोर्चा और राष्ट्रीय लोक मोर्चे को 6-6 सीटें दी गई है। चुनाव में एनडीए का मुकाबला विपक्षी इंडी गठबंधन से होगा। इस गठबंधन में राष्ट्रीय जनता दल, कांग्रेस, भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी- माले लिब्रेशन, भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी और मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी तथा विकासशील इंसान पार्टी शामिल हैं। इंडी गठबंधन को अभी सीट बंटवारे पर फैसला लेना है। मतदान दो चरणों में- 6 और 11 नवंबर को होगा। वोटों की गिनती 14 नवंबर को होगी।

An international summit aimed at finalizing a peace agreement to end the war in Gaza is set to take place in Egypt’s Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh today. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and US President Donald Trump will co-chair the meeting, which is expected to draw leaders from more than 20 countries. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is also scheduled to attend it. The summit will focus on ending hostilities in the Gaza Strip, advancing regional peace efforts, and ushering in a new phase of security and stability across West Asia.

The gathering comes in light of US President Donald Trump’s vision for achieving peace in the region and his efforts to end conflicts around the world. Cairo said the summit is designed to finalize an agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza and rally international support for the second phase of Trump’s peace plan, which seeks to disarm Hamas and create a new governing body in the Strip. However, neither Israel nor Hamas will take part in the event, and the Palestinian Authority is also not attending.
The summit follows a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas that entered into effect on Friday after three days of intensive negotiations in Sharm El Sheikh between the two sides, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States. The first phase of the plan includes Israeli troop withdrawals from Gaza the opening of five crossings for aid, and the release of hostages and prisoners. Under the agreement, Hamas has time until Monday to release all Israeli hostages, including 20 who are believed to be alive and the remains of up to 28 deceased hostages. पर्यावरण मंत्री मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने कहा है कि आगामी सर्दी में प्रदूषण से निपटने के लिए दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा विंटर रेडीनेस प्लान सक्रिय है। उन्होंने बताया कि इस प्लान में सड़कों की सफाई, डस्ट कंट्रोल, निर्माण स्थलों पर सख्त निगरानी और हॉटस्पॉट इलाकों में मिस्ट स्प्रेयर की लगातार तैनाती शामिल है। श्री सिरसा ने बताया कि सरकार द्वारा किए जा रहे प्रयासों से इस वर्ष दिल्ली में 199 दिन वायु गुणवत्ता स्वच्छ रही। जो 2016 के 110 दिनों के मुकाबले लगभग दोगुना हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि यह सुधार दिल्ली में रोज़ाना चल रहे साफ़-सफाई, रोड डस्ट कंट्रोल और लैंडफिल बायो-माइनिंग जैसे उपायों से संभव हुआ है। पर्यावरण मंत्री ने यह जानकरी दी कि पिछले 24 घंटे में सफाई अभियान के अंतर्गत लगभग 10 हजार मीट्रिक टन से अधिक कचरा हटाया गया, 6 हज़ार किलोमीटर सड़कें साफ़ की गईं और 12 हज़ार से अधिक वाहनों के चालान किए गए।

The State Government has empowered police to take stronger action against those absconding and evading despite Court warrants. The Government has extended Section 356 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita to anyone against whom a Court has published a written proclamation under Sec 84 (1). This allows police and courts to initiate steps such as property attachment and trial in absentia once a person is declared to have absconded. Earlier Cases involving absconding accused often remained pending for years because Courts could not proceed until the person was arrested. The new order removes the delay allowing trials to continue and preventing the accused from using absconding as a means to stall proceedings.

Greater Bengaluru Authority Chief Commissioner- Maheshwar Rao inspected the progress of Project Walkaluru that is working on improving pedestrian facilities in the city. Mr. Rao visited Iblur Junction and inspected the works to improve footpaths and safe traffic movement.
Iblur Junction serves as a major traffic route and works are on to make the Junction pedestrian friendly and safer for the public. As part of the works, the transformers on the pedestrian path are relocated. The waste, dirt and debris are cleared and a high rise zebra crossings are installed to enhance pedestrian safety. A stormwater drain is being constructed near Iblur junction to prevent waterlogging and ensure proper water flow in the area.

Hyderabad
Telangana health authorities have launched a special Pulse Polio vaccination drive across six districts, including Hyderabad, as part of a nationwide campaign to prevent the re-emergence of the disease. Children under five are being administered oral polio drops during the drive, which will continue till October 15th. The drive is underway in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Hanamkonda, and Warangal districts.
The Health Department has urged parents to ensure that every child, from newborns to five years old, is administered the vaccine. According to the State Health Department, about 17.56 lakh children below the age of five residing in these districts will be given vaccination. Among these, about 5.17 lakh children under the age of five will receive oral polio drops across the Hyderabad district during the special drive. Hyderabad District authorities informed that over 2,800 polio booths have been set up across the district. They will open at 7 AM and will remain operational till 6 PM while over 11,200 health personnel will conduct door-to-door visits till 15th of this month to ensure full coverage.

The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction is being observed today globally. This day encourages every citizen to take part in building more disaster-resilient communities. The theme for this year is “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters”, that calls for increase funding for disaster risk reduction (DRR) in public and international budgets, and ensuring all development and private investments are risk-informed and resilient.

आज पुण्यतिथि है किशोर कुमार की। उनका जन्म: 4 अगस्त, 1929 को मध्य प्रदेश में हुआ था। (मृत्यु: 13 अक्टूबर, 1987) वे भारतीय संगीत के इतिहास में अमर गायक, अभिनेता, निर्देशक, निर्माता और गीतकार थे। किशोर कुमार का असली नाम ‘आभास कुमार गांगुली’ था। उन्हें पार्श्व गायन के लिए आठ बार फ़िल्म फेयर पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।
He is regarded as one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema. He is considered to be the first superstar of Indian cinema as well as the first lead actor to play an anti-hero. He also became the first star to reinvent himself, enjoying a long and hugely successful career as a character actor.
