The Chief of Army Staff, General Manoj Pande said that the Army’s vision for the future is to transform into a modern, agile, adaptive, technology-enabled and self-reliant future-ready force. He said, the transformation roadmap entailed five pillars namely force restructuring and optimisation, modernisation and technology infusion, improvement of systems, human resource management, and promoting jointness and integration with the sister Services. Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDO has successfully developed the lightest Bullet Proof Jacket in the country for protection against highest threat Level 6 of BIS ammunition. Recently, this bullet proof jacket was successfully tested at TBRL, Chandigarh. Ministry of Defence in a statemetn said that this jacket is based upon new design approach, where novel material along with new processes have been used. It added that the front Hard Armour Panel (HAP) of this jacket defeats multiple hits. The ergonomically designed front HAP is made up of monolithic ceramic plate with polymer backing which enhances the wearability and comfort during the operation. Secretary Department of Defence Research and Development and Chairman DRDO Dr. Samir V Kamat has congratulated Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment of DRDO for the successful development of this lightest bullet proof jacket for protection against highest threat level.

An Armenian art exhibition featuring 18 works of the Armenian Artist, designer and entrepreneur settled in Chennai was held yesterday. The famed Garni temple- the only pre christian relic in Armenia – hidden monasteries in mountain sides in full bloom and a duduk on a red carpet with a snowy mountain as the backdrop was shown. Mari Poghosyan’s paintings are an attempt to showcase Armenian architecture, history and heritage. The date marks the 109th commemoration of the Armenian Genocide. The artist said that the exhibition is to showcase the cultural resilience of Armenia and raise awareness about the preservation of the Country’s historical monuments. The painting with the statue of a mother holding a baby represents Armenia rising from its ashes.

The Chief Electoral Office in Karnataka has organised a state level photography competition on the Festival of democracy reflected in the General Election for the Lok Sabha. Both the photojournalists and amateur photographers taking the best photographs of the election to be held on April 26 and May 7th in Karnataka will be awarded with the cash prizes. During the 2019 General elections to the competition was held and the best photographs selected by the commission were used for its publications. Hence the competition is being rearranged during this election. Those desiring to participate in the photo competition have to send five of their best photographs taken during the election days and send it to the Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Karnataka with catchy captions. The photographs have to be sent with personal details to mediacellceokarnataka@gmail.com before May 15th. There are five cash prizes announced for the best photographs totalling to a sum of 61,000 rupees.

In Telangana, a total 191 nomination sets have been received in all 17 lok Sabha Constituencies in the state yesterday. BJP candidates BB Patil from Zaheerabad, Dr Narsaiah Boora from Bhongir, and Vinodrao Thandra from Khammam filed their nominations yesterday. Congress candidates G Ranjit Reddy from Chevella, Dr Mallu Ravi from Nagarkurnool, R Raghuram Reddy from Khammam were among them who filed nominations. From BRS, Athram Sakku from Adilabad, R. Lakshma Reddy from Malkajgiri, K Gyaneshwar from Chevella and K Krishna Reddy from Nalgonda were among those who filed nominations yesterday. Union Ministers Dr S Jaishankar took part in the nomination rally held by the BJP candidate in Bhongir. The nominations will be received today and tomorrow. Meanwhile, Union Minister and BJP senior leader Anurag Singh Thakur will be taking part in the nomination rally of party Hyderabad Candidate later today. Polling for all 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana will be held on 13th next month.

खराब मौसम के कारण दिल्ली के इंदिरा गांधी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे से 15 विमानों को डायवर्ट किया गया। इन विमानों में से नौ को जयपुर, दो को अमृतसर, दो को लखनऊ और एक-एक को मुंबई और चंडीगढ़ के लिए डायवर्ट किया गया।
कल शाम राजधानी दिल्ली में अचानक मौसम में बदलाव आया और कई हिस्सों में बारिश के साथ तेज़ हवाएं भी चलीं।

रेलवे ने गर्मी के मौसम में यात्रियों की सुविधा के लिए ‘किफायती खाना’ उपलब्ध कराने का निर्णय लिया है। उत्तर रेलवे ने बताया है कि सामान्य श्रेणी के डिब्बों में यात्रा करने वाले यात्रियों को रेलवे स्टेशन पर उनके कोच के बाहर ही किफायती दाम पर खाना और अन्य फूड उपलब्ध करवाया जायेगा, ताकि यात्रियों को गर्मी में कोई दिक्कत न हो।

कोलकाता सहित दक्षिण बंगाल में पिछले एक सप्ताह से भीषण गर्मी पड़ रही है। उत्तर बंगाल में भी गर्म और उमस भरा मौसम है। थाईलैंड में प्रकाशित एक रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि कुछ दशकों से पश्चिम बंगाल में तापमान 0 दशमलव 5 से 1 डिग्री तक बढ़ जाता है। सुंदरबन में समुद्र का स्तर बढ़कर 4.44 मिलीमीटर हो गया। वैज्ञानिक कह रहे हैं कि अगर यही सिलसिला जारी रहा तो 2080 तक पश्चिम बंगाल के सभी शहरों का तापमान 50 डिग्री सेल्सियस होगा और दार्जिलिंग के तापमान में वृद्धि की दर नई दिल्ली से भी अधिक होगी।

तीजनबाई (अंग्रेजी: Teejan Bai, जन्म: 24 अप्रैल, 1956) छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य की पहली महिला कलाकार हैं जो पण्डवानी की कापालिक शैली की गायिका है। तीजनबाई ने अपनी कला का प्रदर्शन अपने देश में ही बल्कि विदेश में भी किया है, जिसके के लिए उन्हें भारत सरकार द्वारा पद्म भूषण और पद्मश्री की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया गया है। तीजनबाई ने अपना जीवन का पहला कार्यक्रम सिर्फ 13 साल की उम्र में दुर्ग ज़िले के चंदखुरी गाँव में किया था।
बचपन में तीजनबाई अपने नाना ब्रजलाल को महाभारत की कहानियाँ गाते हुए सुनती और देखतीं थी और धीरे धीरे उन्हें ये कहानियाँ याद होने लगीं। अनेक पुरस्कारों द्वारा पुरस्कृत तीजनबाई मंच पर सम्मोहित करने वाले अद्भुत नृत्य नाट्य का प्रदर्शन करती हैं। नाट्य का प्रारम्भ होते ही पात्र के अनुसार उनका सज्जित तानपूरा भिन्न भिन्न रूपों का अवतार ले लेता है। तीजनबाई की विशेष प्रभावशाली लोकनाट्य के अनुरूप आवाज़, अभिनय, नृत्य और संवाद उनकी कला के विशेष अंग हैं।

रामधारी सिंह ‘दिनकर’ (अंग्रेज़ी: Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, जन्म: 23 सितंबर, 1908, बिहार; मृत्यु: 24 अप्रैल, 1974, तमिलनाडु) हिन्दी के प्रसिद्ध लेखक, कवि एवं निबंधकार थे। ‘राष्ट्रकवि दिनकर’ आधुनिक युग के श्रेष्ठ वीर रस के कवि के रूप में स्थापित हैं। उनको राष्ट्रीय भावनाओं से ओतप्रोत, क्रांतिपूर्ण संघर्ष की प्रेरणा देने वाली ओजस्वी कविताओं के कारण असीम लोकप्रियता मिली। दिनकर जी ने इतिहास, दर्शनशास्त्र और राजनीति विज्ञान की पढ़ाई पटना विश्वविद्यालय से की। साहित्य के रूप में उन्होंने संस्कृत, बांग्ला, अंग्रेज़ी और उर्दू का गहन अध्ययन किया था।
रामधारी सिंह दिनकर साहित्य के वह सशक्त हस्ताक्षर हैं जिनकी कलम में दिनकर यानी सूर्य के समान चमक थी। उनकी कविताएं सिर्फ़ उनके समय का सूरज नहीं हैं बल्कि उसकी रौशनी से पीढ़ियां प्रकाशमान होती हैं।

Deenanath Mangeshkar (Marathi pronunciation: 29 December 1900 – 24 April 1942) was an Indian actor, a Natya Sangeet musician and a Hindustani classical vocalist who was active in Marathi theatre. He is also the father of well-known singers Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Meena Khadikar and Usha Mangeshkar as well as composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
Deenanath Mangeshkar started taking singing and Indian classical music lessons from Shri Baba Mashelkar at the age of five. He was also to become a disciple at the Gwalior gharana. In his youth, he also travelled to Bikaner and took formal training in classical music from Pundit Sukhdev Prasad, father of Pundit Mani Prasad, of the Kirana Gharana. He joined the Kirloskar Sangeet Mandali and the Kirloskar Natak Mandali at the age of 11. Later, he left Kirloskar Mandali, and formed Balwant Mandali with his friends Chintaman Ganesh Kolhatkar and Krishnarao Kolhapure.
