रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने विश्वास व्यक्त किया है कि वर्ष 2030 तक भारत का रक्षा निर्यात 50 हजार करोड़ रुपये तक पहुंच जाएगा। वे कल महाराष्ट्र के छत्रपति संभाजीनगर में चैंबर ऑफ मराठवाड़ा इंडस्ट्रीज एंड एग्रीकल्चर- सी.एम.आई.ए. द्वारा आयोजित ‘मराठवाड़ा-आत्मनिर्भर भारत की रक्षा भूमि’ संवाद सत्र को संबोधित कर रहे थे। मोदी सरकार की उपलब्धियों का उल्लेख करते हुए रक्षा मंत्री ने कहा कि मौजूदा सरकार के कार्यकाल में रक्षा निर्यात में चालीस गुना वृद्धि हुई है।

Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said electronic manufacturing has increased five times in the last 10 years. Talking to reporters at Manesar in Gurugram of Haryana, Mr Vaishnaw said there has been a big jump in the electronics manufacturing sector because of the Make in India initiative. He said the Electronics export has also increased six times in the last ten years, and it has crossed three lakh 25 thousand crore rupees.
The Minister also said that the government had recently approved the electronic component manufacturing scheme, which will further deepen the Electronics manufacturing ecosystem and lead to job growth. Mr Vaishnaw said, Global confidence in India’s electronics manufacturing surges with rising product quality and stronger IP safeguards. The IT Minister also inaugurated VVDN Technologies’ state-of-the-art Surface Mount Technology SMT Line and Mechanical Innovation Park at Manesar.

India reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive, equitable, and sustainable agriculture at the 15th meeting of BRICS Agriculture Ministers. Speaking at the meeting held in Brazil yesterday, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said global food security goals would remain unfulfilled unless small farmers are protected and empowered. He underscored that for India, empowering women socially, economically and politically is a mission.
During the meeting, BRICS Agriculture Ministers launched the BRICS Land Restoration Partnership to address land degradation, desertification, and the loss of soil fertility. In the Joint Declaration, BRICS nations collectively reiterated their resolve to make the global agri-food system fair, inclusive, innovative, and sustainable. Meanwhile, Mr. Chouhan also invited BRICS nations to participate in the World Audio-Visual Entertainment Summit beginning May 1 this year and the World Food India to be held in September 2025.

The Government stated that claims suggesting it is considering levying GST on UPI transactions over two thousand rupees are completely false, misleading, and without any basis. In a statement, the Finance Ministry clarified that currently, no such proposal is under consideration by the Government. It added that GST is levied only on charges, such as the Merchant Discount Rate (MDR), related to payments made using certain instruments. The Ministry further noted that, effective from January 2020, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) removed the MDR on Person-to-Merchant (P2M) UPI transactions.

US President Donald Trump said the United States could stop trying to help negotiate peace between Russia and Ukraine if either side makes talks too difficult. Speaking in the Oval office yesterday, Trump said he wanted the war to end quickly but wasn’t setting a deadline. He said, If one of the two parties makes it very difficult, we’ll just take a pass.
His comments came after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also warned that talks wouldn’t continue for long if progress isn’t made soon. He said United States is not going to keep at this for weeks and months.

राइड एशिया-ईवी एक्सपो का छठा संस्करण कल से शुरू हुआ जो 20 अप्रैल तक आयोजित किया जाएगा। इस प्रदर्शनी में 300 से अधिक ब्रांड हिस्सा ले रहे हैं।

दिल्ली सरकार में पर्यावरण मंत्री मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने कहा है कि दिल्ली में प्रदूषण से निपटने के लिए सरकार जल्द ही रूपरेखा और रोडमैप जनता के सामने पेश करेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि राजधानी के 13 स्थानों पर वाटर मिस्ट प्रणाली लगाई जाएगी और प्रदूषण से ग्रस्ति इलाकों की तराई के लिए एक हजार वॉटर टैंकर को काम पर लगाया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली में अन्य प्रदेशों से आने वाले 10 से 15 वर्ष पुराने वाहनों की कैमरों के जरिए निगरानी की जाएगी ताकि उन्हें वापस भेजा जा सके।

दिल्ली के मुस्तफाबाद इलाके में आज तड़के छह मंजिला इमारत ढ़ह गई। मलबे में कई लोगों के दबे होने की आशंका है। अधिकारियों के अनुसार राष्ट्रीय आपदा मोचन बल-एनडीआरएफ और दिल्ली पुलिस के दल घटना स्थल पर पहुंच गए हैं और राहत तथा बचाव कार्य जारी है। करीब दस दमकल गाडि़यां भी घटना स्थल पर भेजी गई हैं।

Dr. Matthew Samuel Kalarikal popularly known as the father of angioplasty in India passed away at Apollo hospital on Friday. A pioneer in interventional cardiology who repaired thousands of hearts and mentored many young doctors over 50 years was under treatment for a chronic condition. He was the Founder Convenor of the National Angioplasty Registry of India, a forum for interventional cardiologists, Dr.Kalarikal was keen on setting standrad protocols for cardiac procedures while embracing new technology and research. After obtaining an MBBS degree from Kottayam Government Medical College in Kerala, he secured post graduation at Stanley Medical College and super speciality at Madras Medical College.

महाराष्ट्र के जन स्वास्थ्य मंत्री प्रकाश अबितकर ने जन स्वास्थ्य विभाग को राज्य में दुर्घटना पीड़ितों के लिए स्वीकृत और अन्य आपातकालीन अस्पतालों में 1 लाख रुपये तक के कैशलेस उपचार का प्रावधान सुनिश्चित करने का निर्देश दिया है। कल मुंबई में राज्य स्वास्थ्य गारंटी सोसायटी के मुख्यालय में बोलते हुए, उन्होंने आयुष्मान भारत प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना और महात्मा ज्योतिराव फुले जन आरोग्य योजना के कार्यान्वयन की समीक्षा की। उन्होंने यह भी चेतावनी दी कि किसी भी तरह की गड़बड़ी के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

मुंबई के ठाणे और पालघर जिलों में यातायात को संचालित करने के लिए कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता-आधारित पहचान प्रणाली शुरू की गई है। पुलिस आयुक्त मधुकर पांडे ने कल बताया कि इस साल मार्च में एक पायलट प्रोजेक्ट के रूप में एआई-आधारित प्रणाली शुरू की गई थी और इसके माध्यम से पहला ट्रैफ़िक चालान 7 अप्रैल को जारी किया गया था। उन्होंने बताया कि एआई-संचालित प्लेटफ़ॉर्म ट्रैफ़िक उल्लंघनों की पहचान करने और उन पर कार्रवाई करने के तरीके को बदल देगा।

Karnataka ranks fourth in organ pledging nationwide, with 35,920 registrations as of April 17, according to the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO). Maharashtra leads with 50,886 pledges, followed by Rajasthan (43,376) and Gujarat (36,550). The highest number of pledges comes from the 30–45 age group (16,045), followed by the 18–30 group (8,423). Notably, women account for the majority of pledges in Karnataka, with 18,655 registrations.

The premium Floor Area Ratio (FAR) scheme has officially been launched in Bengaluru, with the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) now accepting applications from property owners and developers. BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath confirmed that the town planning department has begun receiving applications, supported by newly developed software for digital processing.

Japan based global digital transformation and IT services company, NTT DATA, cloud platform company Neysa Networks, and the Telangana government have signed an agreement to set up an Artificial Intelligence data centre cluster in Hyderabad with an investment of 10 thousand 500 crore rupees. The agreement was formalised in the presence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during a high-level meeting in Japan yesterday. An official release stated that the upcoming facility in Hyderabad will feature a 400 MegaWatt data centre cluster, designed to host the country’s most powerful AI supercomputing infrastructure with 25,000 GPUs (Graphics Processing Units).

आज भारत की प्रसिद्ध एथलीट अंजू बॉबी जॉर्ज का जन्म दिन है। अंजू का जन्म 19 अप्रैल, 1977 दक्षिण मध्य केरल के कोट्टायम ज़िले के छोटे से कस्बा चीरनचीरा में हुआ। अंजू ने सितम्बर 2003, पेरिस में हुए वर्ल्ड एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनसिप लंबी कूद में कांस्य पदक जीत कर भारत को पहली बार विश्वस्तर की प्रतियोगिता में पुरस्कार दिलाया था। अंजू बी. जॉर्ज वर्ष 2003 में 25 वर्ष की उम्र में विश्व एथलेटिक्स में भारत की पहली पदक विजेता बनी। 2004 में अंजू बॉबी जॉर्ज को ‘राजीव गाँधी खेल रत्न’ सम्मान प्रदान किया गया।

Krishnaji Gopal Karve was an Indian freedom fighter. He was a member of the Abhinav Bharat Society in Nashik. He was charged with anti-British activities. Karve formed revolutionary groups with other freedom fighters like Vinayak Narayan Deshpande, Baburao Savarkar, and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. On 21 December 1909, he along with Anant Laxman Kanhere and Vinayak Narayan Deshpande shot Jackson, the Collector of Nashik. Karve and Vinayak were ready to kill Jackson, in case Anant Lakshman Kanhere failed to succeed. Anant succeeded in killing Jackson. He committed suicide on the spot to save his fellow revolutionaries and take complete responsibility for the killing. Karve was sentenced to death by the Bombay High Court. He was hanged in Thane Jail on 19 April 1910.

बात उन दिनों की है जब नासिक का तत्कालीन कलेक्टर जैक्सन अपने आपको भारतीयों का हितैषी दिखाने का ढोंग करता था, लेकिन वास्तविकता में वह अंग्रेजी साम्राज्य का कठोर और अन्यायी अधिकारी था। उसने बाबाराव सावरकर और वामन सखाराम खरे जैसे स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को गिरफ्तार कर प्रताड़ित किया। जैक्सन के इन क्रूर कार्यों ने क्रांतिकारियों के सब्र का बाँध तोड़ दिया। 21 दिसंबर 1909 को जैक्सन के सम्मान में नासिक के विजयानंद थिएटर में एक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया, जहाँ मराठी नाटक ‘शारदा’ का मंचन होना था। अनंत कान्हेरे ने इस मौके का फायदा उठाकर जैक्सन को मारने का संकल्प लिया। अनंत ने वीर सावरकर द्वारा भेजे गए रिवॉल्वर से जैक्सन के सीने में चार गोलियाँ दाग दीं। जैक्सन वहीं ढेर हो गया। लेकिन अनंत को तुरंत पकड़ लिया गयाअनंत पर मुंबई की अदालत में मुकदमा चलाया गया। 19 अप्रैल 1910 को उन्हें थाणे जेल में फांसी दी गई। अनंत कान्हेरे का बलिदान न केवल ब्रिटिश शासन के क्रूर चेहरे को उजागर करता है, बल्कि यह भी दिखाता है कि स्वतंत्रता के लिए भारतीय युवाओं ने किस तरह अपने प्राणों की आहुति दी। अनंत लक्ष्मण कान्हेरे को शत-शत नमन।

सुरेखा सीकरी (अंग्रेज़ी: Surekha Sikri, जन्म- 19 अप्रॅल, 1945, नई दिल्ली; मृत्यु- 16 जुलाई, 2021, मुम्बई) एक भारतीय अभिनेत्री और टेलीविजन कलाकार वह मुख्य तौर से हिंदी सिनेमा में सक्रिय थीं। वर्ष 2018 में आयी बॉलीवुड फिल्म ‘बधाई हो’ और धारावाहिक टेलीविजन शो ‘बालिका बधु’ (2008) के लिए सुरेखा सीकरी को जाना जाता है। धारावाहिक ‘बालिका वधु’ ने उन्हें घर-घर में पहचान दिलाई। वह हिंदी रंगमंच में वर्ष 1978 से लेकर 2021 तक सक्रिय थीं।
