राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मु आज नई दिल्ली के विज्ञान भवन में एक समारोह में 82 शिक्षकों को राष्ट्रीय शिक्षक पुरस्कार 2024 से सम्मानित करेंगी। आकाशवाणी, दिल्ली से इस कार्यक्रम का सीधा प्रसारण आज शाम चार बजकर 10 मिनट से एफएम गोल्ड, इंद्रप्रस्थ और आकाशवाणी के सभी चैनलों पर उपलब्ध होगा। आकाशवाणी के यूट्यूब चैनल पर भी कार्यक्रम का सीधा प्रसारण होगा।
हर वर्ष 5 सितंबर को डॉ. सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन की जयंती को राष्ट्रीय शिक्षक दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने कहा है कि राष्ट्रीय शिक्षक पुरस्कार का उद्देश्य देश के कुछ ऐसे विशिष्ट शिक्षकों के अद्वितीय योगदान को मान्यता प्रदान कर उन्हें सम्मानित करना है जिन्होंने न केवल स्कूली शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता में सुधार किया बल्कि विद्यार्थियों के जीवन भी समृद्ध बनाया है। स्कूली शिक्षा एवं साक्षरता विभाग ने इस वर्ष के राष्ट्रीय शिक्षक पुरस्कार के लिए 50 शिक्षकों का चयन किया है। ये चयन पारदर्शी और ऑनलाइन तीन चरणों – जिला, राज्य और राष्ट्रीय स्तर की प्रक्रिया के माध्यम से किया गया है। चयनित 50 शिक्षक 28 राज्यों, तीन केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों और छह संगठनों से हैं। उच्च शिक्षा विभाग के 16 शिक्षकों और कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता मंत्रालय के 16 शिक्षकों को भी सम्मानित किया जाएगा। प्रत्येक पुरस्कार में योग्यता प्रमाण पत्र, 50 हजार रुपये का नकद पुरस्कार और एक रजत पदक दिया जाता है।
राष्ट्रपति भवन स्थित अमृत उद्यान आज शिक्षक दिवस के अवसर पर विशेष रूप से शिक्षकों के लिए खुला रहेगा। राष्ट्रपति सचिवालय में एक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति में बताया कि अमृत उद्यान में प्रवेश राष्ट्रपति भवन के गेट नम्बर 35 से होगा। आगंतुकों की सुविधा के लिए केंद्रीय सचिवालय मेट्रो स्टेशन से गेट नम्बर 35 तक एक मुफ्त शटल सेवा चलाई जाएगी। अमृत उद्यान पिछले महीने की 16 तारीख से जनता के लिए खोला गया था और यह 15 सितम्बर तक खुला रहेगा। अमृत उद्यान में भ्रमण का समय सुबह 10 बजे से शाम 6 बजे तक है। सोमवार को यह बंद रहेगा। आगंतुक, राष्ट्रपति भवन की वेबसाईट से ऑनलाइन टिकट बुक कर सकते हैं तथा गेट नम्बर 35 के बाहर बने कियोस्क केंद्र पर भी टिकट बुक की जा सकती है।
शिक्षक दिवस के अवसर पर आज लखनऊ में देश के सबसे बड़े काव्य महोत्सव ‘कवि कुंभ’ का आयोजन हो रहा है। यह आगामी प्रयागराज महाकुंभ-2025 के शुभारंभ का भी अवसर है। हिंदी साहित्य अकादमी द्वारा आयोजित यह तीसरा कवि कुंभ है। पहले दो आयोजन हस्तिनापुर में हुए थे। शिक्षक दिवस पर शुरू होने वाले तीन दिवसीय काव्य महोत्सव में राज्य और देश भर से लगभग 340 प्रमुख कवि और कवयित्रियाँ भाग लेंगे।
The Centre has asked all States and Union Territories to provide an action taken report on safety and security measures for doctors and healthcare workers in all medical institutions before September 10th. Union Health Secretary Apurva Chandra has written a letter to all Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police in this regard. Each territory and district has been asked to identify hospitals with high footfall and consider them as high-priority establishments for security improvements. They have been instructed to conduct security audits in consultation with local health and police authorities to assess and improve security measures. States have also been urged to ensure the installation and proper functioning of CCTV cameras, particularly in high-risk areas. They have also been asked for robust background checks for all outsourced personnel and contractual workers employed in the hospitals.

Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh has said that India’s textile industry is expected to grow to 350 billion US dollar by 2030. He said, it will add 3.5 crore jobs in the country. Addressing a Curtain Raiser event of Bharat Tex 2025 in New Delhi, Mr Singh expressed hope of India being recognised by its Bharat brand and green sustainable textile products at the world stage. He asserted that the Union Government’s PLI scheme for textiles will enable the apparel industry to boost production and promote their branding. Mr Singh informed that the Global Textiles Expo – Bharat Tex 2025 will be held from 14th to 17th February next year at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.

India Meteorological Department, IMD has forecast widespread light to moderate rainfall over West and Central India during the week. It has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh during next six days and in Saurashtra and Kutch till tomorrow while in Konkan and Goa and Gujarat region till 8th of this month. IMD added that isolated very heavy rainfall is also expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana today. Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is also likely over Northeast India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the week. It added that scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is also expected over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha during the week. Isolated heavy rainfall is also very likely over Uttarakhand, Rajasthan till 8th of this month and West Uttar Pradesh today.
At the Paris Paralympics, it was a memorable day for India yesterday as it clinched four medals with two of them being gold. Harvinder Singh made history by becoming the first-ever Indian archer to win a Paralymic gold medal. He achieved the glory in the men’s individual recurve open event last night. After this, Dharambir smashed the Asian record with a throw of 34.92 meter to claim the gold in the men’s club throw F51 final. Pranav Soorma claimed the silver medal with his best throw of 34.59 meter in the same event.
Earlier in the day, world champion Sachin Sarjerao Khilari had clinched a silver in men’s shot put F46 event. With the four medals in the day, India’s tally has risen to 24 including five gold, nine silver and ten bronze. India have moved up to 13th place in the standings.

The State Selection Committee has initiated the admission process for PG Degree and Diploma Courses in medicine and dentistry for 2024-25 academic year. The applications were available on the State Government websites. The State surrenders 50 percent of seats in government colleges to the All India Quota. The Committee will conduct counselling for admission to government quota seats in state run medical colleges. All seats in self financing medical colleges affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University can be accessed. The deadline for submitting applications is September 15. The Committee said it will declare the dates for the release of the rank list, counselling and the data for the commencement of courses later.
In another news, four youths died when a car in which they were travelling rammed into a truck stationed nearby on the outskirts of Chennai on Wednesday.The accident occured at the East Coast Road when the car travelling from Mamallapuram towards Chennai at a high speed rammed the rear of the stationary truck parked on the roadside due to malfunction. The Traffic investigation wing and fire and rescue services personnel rushed to the spot. Case has been filed against the truck driver for negligence.

Startup Karnataka which is an initiative of Government of Karnataka has announced a strategic partnership with CII Green Entrepreneurship Council to encourage CleanTech start-ups in Karnataka. CII Green Entrepreneurship is set up by CII Sorabjee Green Business Centre. The partnership is said to strengthen the CleanTech ecosystem in Karnataka to attract start-ups, investors and industry stakeholders. Under the program, applications will be called from start-ups with ready to go to market products that offer solutions in energy efficiency and conservation, renewable energy, water monitoring and conservation, waste management, digitisation and green and sustainable materials. The Karnataka minister for ITBT Priyank Kharge has informed that Karnataka Clean Tech Startup Accelerator will mentor, fund and fulfil resources to the clean technology start-ups in the state. CII Green Entrepreneurship will extend six months training to these start-ups.

Hyderabad is hosting a two-day Global Artificial Intelligence Summit-2024 themed “Making AI Work for Everyone” today and tomorrow. Organised by the state government, the Summit will be formally inaugurated by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy later this morning at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre. Aimed at fostering discussions on various aspects of AI, the Summit is expected to amplify the state’s ambition to become a global Innovation Hub. The summit will feature a series of parallel tracks, including a central plenary and specialized sessions that delve into AI advancements, practical applications, and future opportunities. The Chief Minister will be joined by Information Technology and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu.
The event is expected to draw over two thousand delegates from across the world.

The Telangana government has stepped up relief measures at erstwhile Khammam district and other rain affected areas while the met officials issued warning of heavy rain till 9th of this month. Some parts of Kothagudem, Mulugu and Ranga Reddy districts recorded heavy rain since last night. Venkatapuram of Mulugu District recorded 108 mm of rainfall till 6 AM this morning. Meanwhile, the authorities issued the first warning for floods at the temple town of Bhadrachalam as the water level in River Godavari reached 43 ft. District collector Jitesh V Patil asked the authorities to shift the residents of vulnerable localities at Bhadrachalam to relief camps. The authorities including in Hyderabad, have issued guidelines for the public to follow, till 9th of this month, due to expected heavy rainfall.

दिल्ली के परिवहन मंत्री कैलाश गहलोत ने रिठाला-नरेला मेट्रो कोरिडोर को दिल्ली-हरियाणा बॉर्डर तक बढ़ाने की घोषणा की है। एक प्रेस वार्ता में कल श्री गहलोत ने बताया कि इस कोरिडोर की पहले लंबाई 22 दशमलव नौ-एक किलोमीटर थी जो अब बढकर 23 दशमलव सात-तीन किलोमीटर हो जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि यह कोरिडोर आगे हरियाणा के कुंडली और नाथूपुर गांव तक भी जायेगा।
दिल्ली मेट्रो की मजेंटा लाइन के विस्तार कार्य के कारण, मेट्रो की येलो लाइन पर कल रात दस बजे से समयपुर बादली और जहांगाीरपुरी मेट्रो स्टेशन के बीच मेट्रो रेल एक ही रेलवे ट्रैक पर परिचालित हो रही है। इन दोनों मेट्रो स्टेशनों के बीच रेल परिचालन का यह परिवर्तन रोजाना मेट्रो सेवा शुरू होने से सुबह सात बजे तक भी जारी रहेगा। दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल निगम-डी.एम.आर.सी. ने बताया है कि रेल परिचालन में यह बदलाव अगले आदेश तक लागू रहेगा।

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक-आरबीआई के केंद्रीय निदेशक मंडल की छह सौ 10वीं बैठक कल मुंबई में आयोजित की गई। बोर्ड ने वैश्विक और घरेलू आर्थिक परिदृश्यों की समीक्षा की। बैठक में स्थानीय बोर्डो के कामकाज और चुनिंदा केंद्रीय विभागों की गतिविधियों सहित भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक के विभिन्न परिचालन क्षेत्रों पर भी गहन चर्चा की गई। बैठक की अध्यक्षता आर.बी.आई. गवर्नर शक्तिकांत दास ने की और इसमें डिप्टी गवर्नर डॉ. माइकल देबब्रत पात्रा, श्री एम. राजेश्वर राव, श्री टी. रबी शंकर और अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी शामिल हुए।
महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री अजीत पवार ने कल पैरालिंपिक 2024 में पुरुषों की शॉट पुट एफ-46 स्पर्धा में रजत पदक जीतने पर सचिन सरजेराव को बधाई दी। एक्स पर एक संदेश में, श्री पवार ने महाराष्ट्र के सांगली जिले के सचिन सरजेराव की असाधारण प्रदर्शन के लिए सराहना की। 34 वर्षीय खिलाड़ी ने 16 दशमलव 3-2 मीटर की एशियाई रिकॉर्ड दूरी के साथ रजत पदक जीता। सचिन के बाएं हाथ में चोट है, जो बचपन में साइकिल दुर्घटना के कारण लगी थी।
महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने गणेश उत्सव के लिए कोंकण जाने वाले निजी वाहनों के लिए टोल टैक्स न लेने की घोषणा की है। आज से नौ सितंबर तक मुंबई-बैंगलोर राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग, मुंबई-गोवा राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग और लोक निर्मााण् विभाग के अंतर्गत कोंकण की ओर जाने वाली सभी अन्य सड़कों पर टोल मुक्त यात्रा होगी। श्रद्धालुओं को ‘गणेश उत्सव गणेश दर्शन’ नामक एक विशेष पास जारी किया जाएगा, जिसमें वाहन का पंजीकरण नंबर, मालिक का नाम और अन्य विवरण अंकित होंगे। ऐसे पास पुलिस स्टेशनों, ट्रैफ़िक पुलिस चौकियों और आर.टी.ओ. कार्यालयों में उपलब्ध होंगे। वापसी यात्रा में भी वही पास मान्य होगा।

पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार 15 साल पुराने वाहनों को चरणबद्ध तरीके से हटाने के कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय के फैसले को चुनौती देने के लिए सर्वोच्च न्यायालय जाएगी। राज्य परिवहन विभाग ने बताया है कि वह 20 साल पुराने वाहनों को चरणबद्ध तरीके से हटाने की अवधि बढ़ाने के लिए सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में अपील की जाएगी। वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी राज्य सरकार की ओर से इस मुकदमें की पैरवी करेंगे।

आज हम याद कर रहे हैं तमिल भाषा के विद्वान् और प्रख्यात समाज-सुधारक चिदंबरम पिल्लई को। प्रसिद्ध तमिल ग्रन्थ ‘तिरुकुरल’ पर उनका भाष्य बहुत प्रसिद्ध हुआ था। ‘बंग-भंग’ के विरुद्ध आंदोलन में चिदंबरम पिल्लई ने स्वदेशी का प्रचार-प्रसार किया और लोगों को अंग्रेज सरकार के विरुद्ध प्रेरित करने में महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। ब्रिटिश सरकार ने चिदंबरम पिल्लई को देशद्रोही ठहराकर उन्हें आजीवन क़ैद की सज़ा सुनाई थी
Today is the death anniversary of Mother Teresa, an Albanian-Indian Catholic nun and the founder of the Missionaries of Charity. Born in the Ottoman Empire, she moved to Ireland to join the Sisters of Loreto and later to India, where she lived most of her life and carried out her missionary work.
Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation that was initially dedicated to serving “the poorest of the poor” in the slums of Calcutta. Over the decades, the congregation grew, managing homes for those dying from HIV/AIDS, leprosy, and tuberculosis, as well as running soup kitchens, dispensaries, mobile clinics, orphanages, and schools. Members of the order take vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience and also profess a fourth vow: to give “wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor.” Mother Teresa received several honours, including the 1962 Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize.
हम याद कर रहे हैं। अपने समय के अनूठे व्यंग्य रचनाकार शरद जोशी को, जिनकी आज पुण्यतिथि है। अपने वक्त की सामाजिक, राजनीतिक और सांस्कृतिक विसंगतियों को उन्होंने अत्यंत पैनी निगाह से देखा। क़लम इतनी धारदार थी की सीधे दिल पर दर्ज होती थी. वह भारत के पहले व्यंग्यकार थे, जिन्होंने पहली बार मुंबई में ‘चकल्लस’ के मंच पर 1968 में गद्य पढ़ा और किसी कवि से अधिक लोकप्रिय हुए।
शरद जोशी का जन्म 21 मई 1931 को उज्जैन में हुआ था। क्षितिज, छोटी सी बात, साँच को आँच नहीं, गोधूलि और उत्सव फ़िल्में लिखने वाले शरद जोशी ने 25 साल तक कविता के मंच से गद्य पाठ किया।
इनकी लेखनी गागर में सागर भरने का काम करती थी। एक बार शरद जोशी ने लिखा था, ‘’लिखना मेरे लिए जीवन जीने की तरक़ीब है। इतना लिख लेने के बाद अपने लिखे को देख मैं सिर्फ यही कह पाता हूँ कि चलो, इतने बरस जी लिया। यह न होता तो इसका क्या विकल्प होता, अब सोचना कठिन है। लेखन मेरा निजी उद्देश्य है।’
शरद जोशी के व्यंग्य में हास्य, कड़वाहट, मनोविनोद और चुटीलापन दिखाई देता है, जो उन्हें जनप्रिय और लोकप्रिय रचनाकार बनाता है। उन्होंने टेलीविज़न के लिए ‘ये जो है ज़िंदगी’, ‘विक्रम बेताल’, ‘सिंहासन बत्तीसी’, ‘वाह जनाब’, ‘देवी जी’, ‘प्याले में तूफान’, ‘दाने अनार के’ और ‘ये दुनिया गजब की’ आदि धारावाहिक लिखे। 1990 में इन्हें भारत सरकार द्वारा पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया गया..

Today is the birth anniversary of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an Indian philosopher and statesman who served as the first vice president of India and the second president of India. He was also the fourth vice-chancellor of Banaras Hindu University.
Radhakrishnan was awarded several awards during his life, including the Bharat Ratna. Radhakrishnan believed that “teachers should be the best minds in the country”. When Radhakrishnan became the President of India, some of his students and friends requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday, on 5 September. He replied, “Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if September 5th is observed as Teachers’ Day.” His birthday has since been celebrated as Teacher’s Day in India.
Radhakrishnan is considered one of the most influential and distinguished 20th century scholars of comparative religion and philosophy. Radhakrishnan’s philosophy was grounded in Advaita Vedanta, reinterpreting this tradition for a contemporary understanding. He has been influential in shaping the understanding of Hinduism, in both India and the west, and earned a reputation as a bridge-builder between India and the West.
Today is the birthday of Pankaj Tripathi, an Indian actor, who predominantly works in Hindi films. He is the recipient of several awards, including a National Film Award and a Filmfare Award. After studying acting at the National School of Drama, Tripathi had minor roles in such films as Omkara, Raavan and Agneepath.
Tripathi gained recognition for his role in Anurag Kashyap’s crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur, after which he had several notable supporting roles. Today is the birth anniversary of Damayanti Joshi, a noted renowned exponent of the Kathak dance form. She believed Kathak is the art of storytelling. She began in the 1930s dancing in Madame Menaka’s troupe, which travelled to many parts of the world. She learnt Kathak from Sitaram Prasad of Jaipur Gharana and became an adept dancer at a very young age, and later trained under Acchan Maharaj, Lacchu Maharaj and Shambhu Maharaj of Lucknow gharana, thus imbibing nuances from both the traditions. She became independent and achieved prominence in the 1960s, before turning into a guru at her dance school in Mumbai. She has received the Padma Shri and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Dance, and had remained Director of the U.P. Kathak Kendra in Lucknow. She was the first person to introduce “Saree” as a costume in Kathak dance. She has been featured in the documentary on Kathak in 1971 made by Films Division, Government of India, and another film entitled “Damayanti Joshi” has been made on her.
