Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that cowardly attempts to intimidate country’s diplomats are equally appalling. He asserted that such acts of violence will never weaken the country’s resolve. Mr Modi called on Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law.

Indian Railways is operating around 22 festival special trains today originating from Delhi-NCR to various parts of the country. These include special trains to Saharsa, Jaynagar, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gorakhpur, Darbhanga, Secundrabad and Malda Town. According to the Railways, 145 extra special trains are being operated from 2nd to 8th of this month to ensure smooth travel during Chhath pooja. The Railway is facilitating the movement of an additional two lakh passengers daily, ensuring seamless travel for millions of devotees during the festive season.
Indian Railways is operating around seven thousand special trains in view of the festive season to accommodate the significant surge in passenger traffic from 1st of last month to 30th of this month. The Railway is set to carry more than one crore passengers during the festive period. This year there has been a notable increase of two thousand 800 special trains compared to the previous year. Last year, around four thousand 500 special trains operated during this season.

Film and Television Institute of India, FTII’s student film ‘Sunflowers Were The First Ones To Know’ has qualified for the 2025 Oscars in the Live Action Short Film Category. This Kannada language short film directed by FTII student Chidananda S Naik is inspired by Indian folk stories and traditions. The film had earlier this year won the first Prize at the Cannes Film Festival’s La Cinef Selection. The La Cinef Jury at Cannes had commended the film for its illuminating storytelling and masterful direction. The film showcases the expertise of a talented team, including Suraj Thakur (Cinematography), Manoj V (Editing) and Abhishek Kadam (Sound Design). The narrative is both poignant and profound, centering on an elderly woman who steals the village rooster, leading to a cessation of sunlight and resulting in turmoil within the community. In an effort to restore order, a prophecy is invoked, resulting in the exile of the woman’s family as they undertake a desperate mission to retrieve the rooster.

अमरीका में राष्ट्रपति का चुनाव अप्रत्यक्ष निर्वाचन प्रणाली से होता है, जिसे इलेक्टोरल कॉलेज कहा जाता है। राष्ट्रपति चुने जाने के लिए पांच सौ 38 इलेक्टोरल कॉलेज वोटों में से दो सौ 70 या अधिक वोट जरूरी हैं।
वोटों की गिनती छह जनवरी को संसद के संयुक्त सत्र में होगी। जिस उम्मीदवार के वोटों की संख्या दो सौ 70 तक पहुंच जाएगी, उसे निर्वाचित घोषित कर दिया जाएगा। राष्ट्रपति का चार वर्ष का कार्यकाल 20 जनवरी से शुरू होगा।

The Ministry of Tourism will participate in World Travel Market London beginning today at ExCeL London. This three-day long international travel and tourism event will conclude on 7th of November. A delegation comprising 50 stakeholders including State Governments, inbound tour operators, airlines, and hoteliers from the Indian travel industry will participate in this event.

The Karnataka minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Priyank Kharge has directed officials to clear encroachments of lakes in the Gram Panchayat jurisdiction. The minister has written to the Additional Chief Secretary in his department to take immediate action. He has noted that the water bodies help maintain eco-system and replenish the source thereby helping the farmers to utilise the water resources for cultivation. Listing out tasks for the district Deputy Commissioners, the minister has asked them to report on the encroachment of water bodies. He has advised coordination with the revenue officials, police officers and take up eviction of the encroachments. He has asked them to initiate action within a month. Priyanka Kharge has also issued directions to monitor the progress of the eviction process and report on the status regularly.

राजधानी में छठ पर्व की तैयारियों को लेकर मुख्यमंत्री आतिशी ने आईटीओ स्थित छठ घाट का दौरा किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने वहां मौजूद सभी व्यवस्थाओं का निरीक्षण किया। मीडिया से बातचीत में मुख्यमंत्री आतिशी ने कहा कि दिल्ली में आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार से पहले केवल साठ घाटों पर छठ पर्व मनाया जाता था, जिसकी संख्या बीते दस सालों में बढ़कर एक हजार हो गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि छठ घाटों पर पूर्ण व्यवस्था के लिए दिल्ली सरकार की विभिन्न एजेंसियां एकजुट होकर काम कर रही हैं।
वहीं, शहर में छठ घाटों की खराब स्थिति को लेकर भाजपा ने दिल्ली सरकार की आलोचना की है। भाजपा प्रवक्ता शहजाद पूनावाला ने कहा है कि यमुना नदी की सफाई पर दिल्ली सरकार, करोड़ों रुपये खर्च करने का दावा करती है, लेकिन यमुना की स्थिति में कोई सुधार नहीं हुआ है। श्री पूनावाला ने शहर में बिगड़ती वायु गुणवत्ता के लिए भी दिल्ली सरकार को जिम्मेदार बताया है।

रेलवे द्वारा छठ पर्व को ध्यान में रखते हुए यात्रियों की यात्रा को सुविधाजनक बनाने के लिए विशेष रेलगाडियों का संचालन किया जा रहा है। भीड़ को देखते हुए 185 विशेष ट्रेनें चलाई जा रही हैं, और लगभग 25 त्योहार विशेष ट्रेनें राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र दिल्ली से देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों के लिए रवाना हो रही हैं। इनमें सहरसा, वाराणसी, अयोध्या, लखनऊ, पटना, मुजफ्फरपुर, गोरखपुर, प्रयागराज, दरभंगा, इंदौर और तिरुवनंतपुरम के लिए विशेष ट्रेनें शामिल हैं।

Telangana Ministers have emphasized the need to find ways of boosting government revenue without imposing any additional burden on the public. At a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting on Resource Mobilization, held in Hyderabad, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and D Sridhar Babu, among others, discussed the importance of resolving disputes in joint ventures to generate more revenue. A release later said a committee of four officials will be formed to address the issues relating to joint ventures which are in disputes and to ensure revenue generation. There are valuable assets involved in these joint ventures. It further said with Special Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao as chairman, the panel will comprise officials from the municipal, housing, and law departments. The sub-committee instructed the officials to develop a plan within a week to resolve the disputes in question.

महाराष्ट्र विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए नामांकन वापस लेने की आखिरी तारीख पर सोमवार को 2938 उम्मीदवारों ने नामांकन वापस ले लिया। चुनाव आयोग की ओर से जारी आंकड़ों के अनुसार कुल 7078 उम्मीदवारों के नामांकन वैध घोषित किए गए, जिनमें से 2938 उम्मीदवारों ने अपने नाम वापस ले लिए। अब राज्य की 288 विधानसभा सीटों के लिए कुल 4140 उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं। मुंबई उपनगरीय कलेक्टर और अतिरिक्त जिला चुनाव अधिकारी राजेंद्र क्षीरसागर ने बताया कि मुंबई उपनगरीय जिले की 26 विधानसभा सीटों के लिए 315 उम्मीदवार अंतिम रूप से मैदान में हैं। इसके अलावा, ठाणे जिले में 381 वैध नामांकनों में से 90 उम्मीदवारों ने अपने नामांकन वापस ले लिए हैं, जिससे अब 18 विधानसभा सीटों के लिए कुल 244 उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं।

World Tsunami Awareness Day is celebrated every year on November 5 to increase awareness about the dangers of tsunamis and encourage preparation in case a natural disaster strikes. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, this day reminds us that effective early warning systems and community education are needed to mitigate the devastating impacts of tsunamis.
This year’s World Tsunami Awareness Day theme aligns with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, and the Summit of the Future, focusing on “youth and future generations.” The activities planned for the observance aim to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Indian Ocean Tsunami by passing on its lessons to a new generation of children and youth.
UNDRR is urging countries at risk from tsunamis to update evacuation routes, install new warning systems, and raise awareness among children and youth. They also encourage youth and learning institutes to play and learn from the Stop Disasters online game to understand how to save lives during disasters.

देशबन्धु के नाम मशहूर चित्तरंजन दास की आज जंयती है। वे एक महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थे, जिनका जीवन ‘भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन’ में युगांतकारी था। चित्तरंजन दास को प्यार से ‘देशबन्धु कहा जाता था। ये महान राष्ट्रवादी तथा प्रसिद्ध विधि-शास्त्री थे। चित्तरंजन दास ‘अलीपुर षड़यंत्र काण्ड’ (1908 ई.) के अभियुक्त अरविन्द घोष के बचाव के लिए बचाव पक्ष के वकील थे। ‘असहयोग आंदोलन’ के अवसर पर इन्होंने अपनी वकालत छोड़ दी थी। 1921 ई. में अहमदाबाद में हुए कांग्रेस के अधिवेशन के ये अध्यक्ष थे। ये ‘स्वराज्य पार्टी’ के संस्थापक थे। इन्होंने 1923 में लाहौर तथा 1924 में अहमदाबाद में ‘अखिल भारतीय ट्रेड यूनियन कांग्रेस’ की अध्यक्षता भी की थी।

भारतीय राजनेता और बंबई नगरपालिका के संविधान (चार्टर) के निर्माता फिरोज़शाह मेहता की आज पुण्यतिथि है। वे अंग्रेज़ी भाषा के अखबार’ बॉम्बे क्रॉनिकल’ के संस्थापक थे। 1904 में उन्हें ‘नाइट’ की उपाधि से विभूषित किया गया। पारसी समाज में एम. ए. पास करने वाले फिरोज़शाह मेहता पहले युवक थे। फ़िरोज़शाह ने चार वर्ष तक इंग्लैड में क़ानून का अध्ययन किया तथा 1868 में वहीं से वकालत (बैरिस्टर) की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण कर भारत लौटे। 1872 के ‘नगरपालिका अधिनियम’ की रूपरेखा तैयार की, जिसके कारण वह ‘बंबई स्थानीय शासन के जनक’ कहलाए। 1886 से बंबई विधान परिषद के सदस्य रहते हुए वह 1893 में गवर्नर-जनरल की सर्वोच्च विधान परिषद के लिए चुने गए। 1890 में उन्होंने भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के छठे अधिवेशन की अध्यक्षता की। 1911 में उन्होंने भारतीयों द्वारा वित्त पोषित तथा नियंत्रित सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ़ इंडिया की स्थापना में योगदान किया। अपने जीवन के अन्तिम दिनों में फिरोज़शाह मेहता ने अंग्रेज़ी दैनिक पत्र ‘बॉम्बे क्रॉनिकल’ का प्रकाशन आरम्भ किया। जिसका देश के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में बड़ा योगदान रहा।

George Michael Cohan (July 3, 1878 – November 5, 1942) was an American entertainer, playwright, composer, lyricist, actor, singer, dancer and theatrical producer.
Cohan began his career as a child, performing with his parents and sister in a vaudeville act known as “The Four Cohans”. Beginning with Little Johnny Jones in 1904, he wrote, composed, produced, and appeared in more than three dozen Broadway musicals. Cohan wrote more than 50 shows and published more than 300 songs during his lifetime, including the standards “Over There”, “Give My Regards to Broadway”, “The Yankee Doodle Boy” and “You’re a Grand Old Flag”. As a composer, he was one of the early members of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. He displayed remarkable theatrical longevity, appearing in films until the 1930s and continuing to perform as a headline artist until 1940.
Give My Regards to Broadway (George M. Cohan)
Known in the decade before World War I as “the man who owned Broadway”, he is considered the father of American musical comedy. His life and music were depicted in the Oscar-winning film Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) and the 1968 musical George M!. A statue of Cohan in Times Square, New York City, commemorates his contributions to American musical theatre.

ध्रुपद तथा ख़याल गायन शैली के श्रेष्ठतम गायक फ़ैयाज़ ख़ाँ की आज पुण्यतिथि है। फ़ैयाज़ ख़ाँ का जन्म सन 1886 में ‘आगरा रंगीला घराना’ के नाम से मशहूर ध्रुपद गायकों के परिवार में हुआ था। इनके जन्म से पहले ही पिता सफ़दर हुसैन ख़ाँ का निधन हो गया था। जिससे उनका पालन-पोषण और संगीत शिक्षा नाना ग़ुलाम अब्बास ख़ाँ के यहां हुई। फ़ैयाज़ ख़ाँ के पिता का घराना ध्रुपदियों का था। जबकि फ़ैयाज़ ख़ाँ के नाना का घराना ख़याल गायकों का था। नाना गुरू ने बचपन से ही इन्हें कठोर रियाज़ कराया जिसे ‘चिल्ला’ कहा जाता है। इस व्रत के अनुसार शिष्य को निरन्तर बारह वर्षों तक प्रतिदिन सूर्योदय से सूर्यास्त तक संगीत का अभ्यास करना होता है। इस तरह ध्रुपद अंग की गायकी इन्हें संस्कारगत में मिली और ख्याल गायकी में इन्होने प्रवीणता हसिल की। उन्हें जन-सामान्य की ओर से ‘महफिल के बादशाह’ के नाम से पुकारा जाता था। अपने प्रभावशाली संगीत से फ़ैयाज़ ख़ाँ ने देश के सभी संगीत केन्द्रों में खूब यश अर्जित किया। उनकी ख्याति के कारण बड़ौदा राजदरबार में संगीतज्ञ के रूप में उनकी नियुक्ति हुई। यहाँ पर इन्हें ‘ज्ञानरत्न’ की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया गया। 1938 में उन्हें मैसूर दरबार से ‘आफताब-ए-मौसिकी की उपाधि से नवाजा गया था। वे ठुमरी और दादरा के बीच उर्दू के शेर जोड़कर उसे और भी प्रभावशाली बना देते थे। आइए सुनते हैं उनकी यह रचनाएँ बहुत प्रसिद्ध हैं-‘बनाओ बतियाँ चलो काहे को झूठी….”पानी भरे री कौन अलबेली…’

Baldev Raj Chopra (22 April 1914 – 5 November 2008) was a prolific Indian director and producer noted for pioneering the Hindi film industry and television series. He’s known for directing notable films, such as Afsana, Ek Hi Raasta, Naya Daur, Sadhna, Kanoon, Gumrah, Hamraaz, Dhund, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Insaf Ka Tarazu and Nikaah. He also produced hit films, including Dhool Ka Phool, Waqt, Ittefaq, Aadmi Aur Insaan, Chhoti Si Baat, The Burning Train, Aaj Ki Awaaz, Baghban and the TV series, Mahabharat. He was awarded Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest award in cinema, for the year 1998, and Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award, in 2001.

सुर सम्राट भूपेन हज़ारिका की आज पुण्यतिथि है। वे क़रीब 70 साल तक अपनी आवाज़ से पूर्वोत्तर के साथ बॉलीवुड में भी छाए रहे। असमिया संस्कृति को विश्व मंच तक पहुंचाने वाले भूपेन हज़ारिका पहले व्यक्ति थे। उन्हें दक्षिण एशिया के श्रेष्ठतम सांस्कृतिक दूतों में से एक माना जाता है। भूपेन हजारिका ने कविता लेखन, पत्रकारिता, गायन, फ़िल्म निर्माण जैसे अनेक क्षेत्रों में काम किया है। हज़ारिका ने अपनी फ़िल्म का निर्देशन 1956 में किया। उन्होंने एरा बतर सुर से अपनी फ़िल्म का पहला निर्देशन किया।
हज़ारिका ने बंगाली, असमिया और हिंदी समेत कई भारतीय भाषाओं में गीत गाए हैं। फ़िल्म ‘रूदाली’ के गीत ‘दिल हूं हूं करे’ के जरिए हज़ारिका हिंदी फ़िल्म जगत् में छा गए। बिहू के गीतों में भूपेन हज़ारिका ने अपनी चिरजीवी आवाज़ दी है। ‘गांधी टू हिटलर’ फ़िल्म में महात्मा गांधी के प्रसिद्ध भजन ‘वैष्णव जन’ को भी उन्होंने ही अपनी आवाज़ दी।
हज़ारिका को असमिया फ़िल्मों उनके अभूतपूर्व योगदान के लिए 1992 में सिनेमा जगत् के सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार दादा साहब फाल्के पुरस्कार से नवाज़ा गया था। इसके अलावा उन्हें राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार क्षेत्रीय फ़िल्म (1975), कला क्षेत्र में पद्म भूषण (2001), असम रत्न (2009) और संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार (2009) जैसे कई प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कारों से नवाजा जा चुका है। हज़ारिका को 2019 में भारत रत्न से भी सम्मानित किया गया।
