प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी आज गुजरात के तीन दिन के दौरे में आज ऐतिहासिक सोमनाथ स्वाभिमान पर्व में भाग लेंगे। वर्ष 1026 में सोमनाथ मंदिर पर पहले हमले के एक हजार वर्ष और आजादी के बाद 1951 में इसके पुननिर्माण के 75 वर्ष पूरे होने पर इसका आयोजन किया गया है। श्री मोदी आज मंदिर की रक्षा में प्राणों की आहुति देने वालों के सम्मान में आयोजित शौर्य यात्रा में भाग लेंगे। वे सोमनाथ मंदिर में पूजा-अर्चना करेंगे। इसके बाद सोमनाथ में जनसभा को भी सम्बोधित करेंगे।

इसके बाद वे राजकोट में सौराष्ट्र कच्छ क्षेत्र के लिए आयोजित दो दिन के जीवंत गुजरात क्षेत्रीय सम्मेलन का शुभारम्भ करेंगे। इस सम्मेलन का उद्देश्य नवाचारियों, उद्यमियों, निवेशकों, स्टार्टअप उद्यमों, वैश्विक साझेदारों और सरकार को एकसाथ एक मंच पर लाना है। गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री भूपेन्द्र पटेल और उप-मुख्यमंत्री हर्ष सांघवी उद्घाटन समारोह में मौजूद रहेंगे। इस दौरान एक हजार पांच सौ से अधिक समझौता ज्ञापनों पर हस्ताक्षर होने की उम्मीद है। राजकोट में खरीदार और विक्रेता बैठक के दौरान एक हजार आठ सौ से अधिक व्यापार बैठक होनी है। सम्मेलन में अमरीका, यूरोपीय देश और ऑस्ट्रेलिया सहित 16 से अधिक देशों के अभियांत्रिकी, कृषि और कपड़ा क्षेत्र से संबंधित एक सौ दस खरीदार भाग ले रहे हैं।
प्रधानमंत्री राजकोट से अहमदाबाद जाएंगे और वहां सेक्टर 10-ए से महात्मा मंदिर मेट्रो स्टेशन तक अहमदाबाद मेट्रो के दूसरे चरण के शेष कार्य का शुभारंभ करेंगे।

इस वर्ष प्रधानमंत्री के परीक्षा पे चर्चा कार्यक्रम के लिए अब तक चार करोड़ से अधिक पंजीकरण हो चुके हैं। यह आंकड़ा पिछले वर्ष तीन करोड़ 56 लाख के गिनिज वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड्स को पार कर चुका है। केन्द्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेन्द्र प्रधान ने बताया कि यह पहल वार्षिक संवाद कार्यक्रम से आगे बढ़कर विद्यार्थियों के लिए परीक्षा का तनाव दूर करने का राष्ट्रव्यापी आंदोलन बन चुका है। शिक्षा मंत्री ने विद्यार्थियों से कार्यक्रम में भाग लेकर प्रधानमंत्री के मार्गदर्शन का लाभ उठाने को कहा। इस वर्ष के लिए पंजीकरण एक दिसम्बर, 2025 से शुरू हो चुका है। पंजीकरण माई जीओवी पोर्टल पर कराया जा सकता है। शिक्षा मंत्रालय के अनुसार, भाग लेने वाले विद्यार्थियों की भारी संख्या, कार्यक्रम की बढ़ती लोकप्रियता तथा परीक्षा का तनाव दूर करने और शिक्षा के प्रति सकारात्मक सोच को बढ़ावा देने में इसकी कारगर भूमिका का प्रमाण है। स्कूली शिक्षा और साक्षरता विभाग प्रतिवर्ष इस कार्यक्रम का आयोजन करता है। कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभागियों को पढ़ाई-लिखाई के दौरान मानसिक स्वास्थ्य और व्यक्तिगत विकास के बारे में प्रधानमंत्री से सीधे बातचीत करने का अवसर मिलता है। शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने अधिक से अधिक विद्यार्थियों से कार्यक्रम के लिए पंजीकरण कराने को कहा है।

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that India can become self-reliant only by embracing mantra of Swadeshi and Swabhasha. Addressing a function at Jodhpur in Rajasthan, he urged people to make and use local products and to converse in their mother tongue at home. Mr Shah said that the language is key to preserving any society, culture and religion. He said, while any language can be learnt or spoken as required to progress in the world, only local languages should be used for conversation with children at home, as it will help strengthen their connection with their roots.

Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia has announced two new India Post services, Speed Post 24 and Speed Post 48, which will ensure delivery within 24 and 48 hours. This announcement, made through at program at Pichor in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, is being considered an important step towards the modernisation of postal services. Speaking on the occasion, Scindia said that Speed Post 24 and Speed Post 48 will set a new standard of punctual, reliable and fast delivery.

In Cricket, India is all set to start their 2026 season today, as they face New Zealand in the first match of the three-match ODI series in Vadodara, Gujarat. The match will start at 1:30 PM. This will be the last ODI series for India, before they head into full T20 mode with the T20 World Cup 2026 and the IPL 2026 on the horizon.
The second ODI will be played at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on January 14, while the third and final match is set to take place at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on January 18.

Tamilnadu may soon get the first hot air balloon adventure park at Coimbatore. The Tamilnadu Balloon adventures has launched the trial phase of the safari in Pollachi. It will be conducted in Madurai and Tiruvannamalai as well. A permanent hot air balloon flight operations hub and aviation park will be established in one of these three places based on the outcome of the trial phase. The trial is being held on the campus of the Pollachi Institute of Engineering and Technology Poosaripatti. It started on the 4th of this month and will conclude on the 26th. Benedict Savio, founder of the Tamilnadu International Balloon Festival said that the trial phase will evaluate operational feasibility, safety standards, visitor response and long term scalability.

The Bangalore Political Action Committee, B PAC tied up with Bengaluru City West Corporation and Resident Welfare Associations to strengthen dialogue between civic administration and citizen groups. B PAC is a non-partisan non profit organisation working on means to improve governance in the city. The meeting held today discussed means to improve urban governance in Bengaluru. The Resident Welfare Association and Civil Society Organisations shared their problems, concerns, suggestions and practical insights on key civic issues. They sought to foster participatory governance, enhance transparency and encourage citizen led solutions for sustainable urban development.

Telangana State Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has called upon cardiologists to join hands with the government to prevent heart diseases and reduce avoidable deaths. He laid emphasis on awareness, early intervention and community participation for addressing the issue. He said preventive medicine was often neglected, and educating citizens about healthy lifestyles and emergency response techniques can improve survival rates and overall public health. He also invited cardiologists to train school students in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Addressing the Fellows India 2026 conference held in Hyderabad last evening, the Chief Minister highlighted the need for a united effort involving doctors, government and society to save more people even as heart ailments continued to claim a large number of lives.
The Chief Minister said advancements in quantum computing and artificial intelligence were transforming medical science into a highly technology-driven field. Urging doctors to remain updated with the latest innovations, he reminded them not to lose the human touch, which he described as the foundation of compassionate healthcare.

53वां विश्व पुस्तक मेला कल से नई दिल्ली के भारत मंडपम में शुरू हो गया। यह पुस्तक मेला भारत और विश्व भर के प्रकाशकों, लेखकों, पाठकों और संस्कृति के क्षेत्र से जुड़े लोगों को एक साथ लाने का मंच प्रदान कर रहा है। केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने इस मेले का उद्घाटन किया। श्री प्रधान ने कहा कि यह मेला सिर्फ पुस्तकों की प्रदर्शनी नहीं बल्कि विचारों के जीवंत और लोकतांत्रिक संवाद का मंच है। इस वर्ष के विश्व पुस्तक मेले में आंगतुकों को 35 से अधिक देशों के एक हज़ार से ज़्यादा प्रकाशक एक साथ देखने को मिल रहे हैं। लगभग 600 साहित्यिक और शैक्षणिक गतिविधियाँ आयोजित होंगी।
इस वर्ष मेले में कतर अतिथि देश है और स्पेन फोकस देश के रूप में भाग ले रहा है। मेले का विशेष आकर्षण भारतीय सैन्य इतिहास – शौर्य और बुद्धिमत्ता @75 विषय पर आधारित प्रदर्शनी है। नौ दिवसीय मेला इस महीने की 18 तारीख तक चलेगा।

दिल्ली सरकार ने राजधानी की परिवहन व्यवस्था को पूरी तरह ‘ग्रीन’ बनाने के लिए केंद्र सरकार को तीन हजार से अधिक अतिरिक्त इलेक्ट्रिक बसों की खरीद के लिए कल एक प्रस्ताव भेजा है। मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने बताया कि राजधानी के परिवहन विभाग के अंतर्गत इन बसों में सात मीटर, नौ मीटर और बारह मीटर वाली बसें शामिल हैं जो दिल्लीवासियों को संकरी सड़कों पर संपर्क प्रदान करेंगी। श्रीमती गुप्ता ने कहा कि ये बसें दिल्ली के ‘ग्रीन ट्रांजिशन’ का आधार बनेंगी और शहर में प्रदूषण नियंत्रण के लिए निर्णायक साबित होगी। मुख्यमंत्री ने बताया कि मार्च तक दिल्ली की सड़कों पर पांच हजार से अधिक ईवी बसें संचालित हो जाएंगी।
दिल्ली विधानसभा अध्यक्ष विजेंद्र गुप्ता ने बताया कि सदन की विशेषाधिकार हनन को लेकर पंजाब के पुलिस महानिदेशक और जालंधर पुलिस आयुक्त को नोटिस जारी किया गया है। नई दिल्ली में कल एक संवाददाता सम्मलेन में श्री गुप्ता ने कहा कि दिल्ली सरकार ने विधानसभा की कार्यवाही के वीडियो फुटेज के आधार पर राज्य में प्राथमिकी दर्ज करने के मामले में पंजाब पुलिस से 48 घंटे के भीतर जवाब माँगा है। उन्होंने कहा कि सदन में गुरुओं का अपमान देश कभी स्वीकार नहीं करेगा।

महाराष्ट्र के संस्कृति मंत्री और भाजपा के वरिष्ठ नेता आशीष शेलार ने शनिवार को धारावी पुनर्विकास परियोजना का विरोध करने के लिए शिवसेना (यूबीटी) और कांग्रेस की आलोचना करते हुए उनके रुख को विरोधाभासी और राजनीतिक से प्रेरित बताया। एक बयान में, श्री शेलार ने कहा कि किफायती आवास और मुंबईवासियों के विस्थापन को लेकर विपक्ष के दावे पुनर्विकास के प्रति उनके विरोध से मेल नहीं खाते। मंत्री ने कहा कि धारावी पुनर्विकास परियोजना का उद्देश्य किफायती आवास, रोजगार के अवसर, खुले स्थान और आधुनिक बुनियादी ढांचा प्रदान करना है, और उन्होंने कहा कि परियोजना का विरोध करना पुनर्विकास, सस्ते घरों और मुंबईवासियों के लिए नौकरियों का विरोध करने के बराबर है।

बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम के लिए स्वतंत्र, निष्पक्ष और पारदर्शी चुनाव सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कई उपाय किए हैं। अतिरिक्त नगर आयुक्त (शहर) डॉ. अश्विनी जोशी ने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया है कि चुनाव प्रक्रिया के हर चरण में सभी व्यवस्थाएं पूरी हों। मतदान 15 जनवरी, 2026 को होगा, मतगणना 16 जनवरी को होगी। डॉ. अश्विनी जोशी ने यह भी निर्देश दिया है कि 13 जनवरी की शाम 5:30 बजे चुनाव प्रचार की अवधि समाप्त होते ही बैनर, झंडे और प्रचार सामग्री तुरंत हटा दी जाए। भीड़ प्रबंधन, वरिष्ठ नागरिकों और दिव्यांग व्यक्तियों की सहायता के लिए 4,500 स्वयंसेवकों को तैनात किया जाएगा।

भारत में प्रत्येक वर्ष जनवरी माह में मनाया जाता है। राष्ट्रीय सड़क सुरक्षा सप्ताह का आयोजन प्रत्येक वर्ष 11 जनवरी से लेकर 17 जनवरी तक मनाया जाता हैं। ‘राष्ट्रीय सड़क सुरक्षा सप्ताह’ के अन्तर्गत आयोजित होने वाले कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से यातायात नियमों के बारे में लोगों को जागरूक किया जाता है। सड़क दुर्घटनाओं के विश्लेषण से यह पता चलता है लगभग 78 प्रतिशत सड़क दुर्घटनाएं चालकों की गलती से होती हैं। इसके पीछे शराब/मादक पदार्थों का इस्तेमाल, वाहन चलाते समय मोबाइल पर बात करना, वाहनों में क्षमता से अधिक संख्या में लोगों का सवार होना, वाहन की अत्यधिक रफ्तार और चालक का थका हुआ होना है।

जयंती – श्रीधर पाठक (11 जनवरी, 1860, – 13 सितम्बर, 1928)
ब्रजभाषा और खड़ी बोली दोनों में साहित्य रसिकों के लिए रचनाएं करने वाले सुप्रसिद्ध कवियों में शुमान श्रीधर पाठक की आज जयंती है। वे स्वदेश प्रेम, प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य तथा समाज सुधार की भावनाओं के कवि थे। वे ‘हिन्दी साहित्य सम्मेलन’ के पाँचवें अधिवेशन (1915, लखनऊ) के सभापति थे। उन्हें ‘कविभूषण’ की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया गया था। श्रीधर पाठक की ब्रजभाषा सहज और निराडम्बर है, परंपरागत रूढ़ शब्दावली का प्रयोग उन्होंने प्रायः नहीं किया है।
‘भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत’ की ध्रुपद-धमार शैली के प्रसिद्ध गायक पंडित राम चतुर की आज पुण्य तिथि है। भारतीय संगीत के सर्वोत्तम स्वरूप की साधना करते हुए उन्होंने विभिन्न देशों में संगीत प्रेमियों के लिए प्रस्तुतियां दीं। मल्लिक जी ध्रुपद, खयाल, ठुमरी और मैथिली लोकगीतों के अनुपम गायक थे। राम चतुर मल्लिक का जन्म 5 अक्टूबर, 1902 को बिहार के दरभंगा में हुआ था। इनके पिता का नाम ‘पंडित राजित राम’ था, जो कि दरभंगा महाराज के दरबार में प्रसिद्ध संगीतज्ञ थे। यह माना जाता है कि पंडित राम चतुर मल्लिक के पूर्वज राजस्थान से बिहार आ गये थे और संगीत में ‘दरभंगा घराने’ की नींव रखी थी।
Theodor Schwann (born December 7, 1810, died January 11, 1882, ) physiologist who founded modern histology by defining the cell as the basic unit of animal structure. He was a cofounder (with Matthias Jakob Schleiden) of the cell theory. From the beginning of his career, Schwann was interested in the histology and physiology of the nervous system and muscle tissue. In the 1830s, he conducted a number of experiments in which he tried to make an objective determination of the force of muscle contraction under stimuli at varying intensities. His new methods made him a pioneer of neurophysiology and quantitative physiology.
Veeramachaneni Madhusudhana Rao (14 June 1923 – 11 January 2012) director, producer, and screenwriter, known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He is popularly known as ‘Victory’ Madhusudhana Rao. He directed nearly 70 films, including musical hits such as Annapurna (1960), Aradhana (1962), Aathma Balam (1964), Zamindar (1965), Antastulu.
क्रिकेट जगत के मिस्टर भरोसेमंद” (Mr. Dependable) भारतीय क्रिकेट के दिग्गज राहुल शरद द्रविड़ का आज जन्म दिन है। अक्टूबर 2005 से सितम्बर 2007 के बीच वह भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के कप्तान रहे। 16 साल तक भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करते रहने के बाद उन्होंने वर्ष 2012 मार्च में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय और राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट के सभी फॉर्मैट से सन्यास ले लिया। 1999 के विश्व कप में वे 461 रनों के स्कोर के साथ रन बनाने में अग्रणी रहे।
Rahul Dravid the Wall of Indian cricket and the legend who made test cricket gorgeous to watch every time he played Rahul Dravid (born January 11, 1973, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India) former Indian international cricketer considered by many to have been one of the greatest batters in the history of the game. During his career he was also a wicketkeeper and an occasional bowler. Nicknamed “the Wall,” Dravid scored 24,208 international runs in his career and was known for his exemplary powers of concentration and discipline when batting. He was a member of the “Fab Four,” a highly regarded and successful list of Indian batters of the 1990s and 2000s—along with Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and V.V.S. Laxman—who made up the backbone of the Indian batting lineup of their time. Moreover, Dravid captained the Indian Test and One Day International (ODI) cricket teams. It’s Ankita Ravinderkrishan Raina’s birthday today The professional tennis player. Currently, she is the India’s number one women’s single player. She has won one title on the WTA Tour & one more title at WTA 125 tournaments in doubles. It is along with 11 singles & 22 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Raina entered the top 200 singles ranking for the first time in April 2018.
