Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat Train at Shatabdi Nagar Namo Bharat Station in Meerut today afternoon. He will also undertake Metro Ride till Meerut South Station. After that, Mr Modi will inaugurate and dedicate to the nation various development projects worth around 12,930 crore rupees in Meerut. He will also address the gathering on the occasion. A report:
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the Nation entire 82 Kilometres long Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor. He will inaugurate the remaining sections of India’s first Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). These include the 5 Kilometres section between Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi and the 21 Kilometres section between Meerut South and Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh. With a design speed of 180 km per hour, Namo Bharat is India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System. It will connect major urban centres such as Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Modinagar and Meerut with Delhi at a faster pace. Sarai Kale Khan, the originating station of the corridor, is one of the four Namo Bharat stations will be commissioned with this inauguration. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate Meerut Metro services between Meerut South and Modipuram, operating on the same infrastructure as Namo Bharat, in a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country. Meerut Metro will be India’s fastest metro system with maximum operational speed of around 120 kilometers per hour. It will cover the entire stretch in just 30 minutes, with all the scheduled stoppages enroute. This seamless integration of Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro on the same infrastructure will ensure high-speed intercity travel and swift intra-city movement, setting a benchmark for integrated urban and regional transit in India. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that the new integrated terminal at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati will commence commercial operations from today marking a major addition to the state’s aviation infrastructure. In a post on social media, Mr Sarma said the terminal had been constructed with local participation and symbolised Assam’s growing role as a key gateway to the northeastern region and beyond.
Earlier, Mr Sarma had shared visuals of the new terminal, highlighting its modern facilities and passenger amenities. Officials said the integrated terminal is expected to significantly enhance passenger handling capacity and improve overall operational efficiency, in view of increasing air traffic in the region.

Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan, released the coffee table book titled Atal Bihari Vajpayee: The Eternal Statesman in New Delhi yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President said that the book is a fitting tribute to Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He added that the publication is not merely a collection of photographs, but a celebration of one of India’s tallest leaders, whose life and legacy continue to inspire the nation. Recalling his personal association with Mr Vajpayee, Mr Radhakrishnan said he had the privilege of serving as a Member of Lok Sabha during Vajpayee’s tenure as Prime Minister. In a landmark development and significant boost to specialised medical education in Jammu and Kashmir, National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 24 new super-specialty postgraduate (PG) seats in Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) of Jammu and Srinagar, and SKIMS Soura. The seats have been approved in streams like Cardiology, Urology, Pulmonary Medicine, Medical Gastroenterology, Paediatric Surgery, Neuro-Anaesthesia, Paediatric and Neonatal Anaesthesia and Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology. Welcoming the development, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo described this development as a major milestone, adding that this transformational step underscores the Government’s firm commitment to expanding specialised healthcare infrastructure and medical education opportunities within Jammu and Kashmir.

The revised fare of the Nilgiris Mountain Rail came into effect yesterday. The base fare of the regular NMR trains has been increased by 5 per cent. According to the Railways, there will be no change in reservation charges, surcharges and others. However, GST will continue to be levied. All other terms and conditions will remain same. Tickets issued at pre revised rates will remain valid and no fare difference will be collected.

Horse and donkey owners operating rides along the city’s beaches including Marina and Elliots must obtain mandatory licenses and micro chips for the animals from Greater Chennai Corporation as part of a move to streamline the activity. Owners have been given 45 days until 28th of March to secure the license. Unlicensed horses will be barred from commercial rides from the beaches.

कस्तूरबा गांधी (अंग्रेज़ी: Kasturba Gandhi, जन्म: 11 अप्रॅल, 1869; मृत्यु: 22 फ़रवरी 1944 ई.), महात्मा गांधी की पत्नी जो भारत में ‘बा’ के नाम से विख्यात हैं। भारत के गौरवशाली इतिहास में बलिदान की इतनी गाथाएँ हैं कि सितारों की गिनती तक कम पड़ जाती है। अगर हम अपने इतिहास की विवेचना करने बैठें तो महिलाओं के बढ़-चढ़ कर योगदान देखने को मिलेंगे, फिर चाहे वो संस्कृति हो, परंपरा, राजनीति, अर्थव्यवस्था, युद्ध, शांति या कुछ और, कोई भी विद्या नारी स्पर्श से अछूती नहीं रही है। अगर हम अपने स्वतंत्रता संग्राम की ही बात करें तो अनगिनत महिलाओं का नाम प्रतिबिंबित होता है जो बहुत सक्रिय रहीं सबसे पहली महिला जिनका नाम ही स्वतंत्रता का पर्याय बन गया है वो हैं ‘श्रीमती कस्तूरबा गाँधी’। कस्तूरबा गाँधी महात्मा गाँधी की पत्नी थीं।

It was during that time that her famous Gujarati drama Jesal Toral ran to more than a thousand performances. She acted in more than 75 Gujarati films and also in 15 to 20 Rajasthani movies. Other than these films, she had done several other films. In most of her movies she played supporting characters. She had acted in 125 Hindi films. On television, she also played the role of Sita’s mother “Maharani Sunaina in Ramanand Sagar’s historic blockbuster serial Ramayan.

सोहन लाल द्विवेदी (अंग्रेज़ी: Sohan Lal Dwivedi, जन्म: 22 फ़रवरी, 1906; 1 मार्च, 1988) हिन्दी के प्रसिद्ध कवि थे। सोहन लाल द्विवेदी हिन्दी के राष्ट्रीय कवि के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित हुए। ऊर्जा और चेतना से भरपूर रचनाओं के इस रचयिता को राष्ट्रकवि की उपाधि से अलंकृत किया गया। पं. सोहनलाल द्विवेदी स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन युग के एक ऐसे विराट कवि थे, जिन्होंने जनता में राष्ट्रीय चेतना जागृति करने, उनमें देश-भक्ति की भावना भरने और नवयुवकों को देश के लिए बड़े से बड़े बलिदान के लिए प्रेरित करने में अपनी सारी शक्ति लगा दी।
1930 में काशी विश्वविद्यालय के दीक्षांत समारोह में महात्मा गाँधी पधारे तो युवा कवि सोहन लाल द्विवेदी ने खादी गीत से उनका अभिनंदन किया उनके गीत की इन पंक्तियों से उपस्थित जनसमूह रोमांचित हो उठा-
खादी के धागे–धागे में अपनेपन का अभिमान भरा।
माता का इनमें मान भरा, अन्यायी का अपमान भरा।
खादी के रेशे–रेशे में, अपने भाई का प्यार भरा।
