केंद्रीय संसदीय कार्य मंत्री किरण रिजिजू ने बजट सत्र से पहले प्रमुख राष्ट्रीय मुद्दों और विधायी कार्यों पर चर्चा करने के लिए आज सुबह 11 बजे सर्वदलीय बैठक बुलाई है। यह बैठक मुख्य समिति कक्ष में होगी और इसका उद्देश्य विधायी कार्यों को सुव्यवस्थित करना और सत्र में उठने वाले प्रमुख राष्ट्रीय मुद्दों का प्रबंधन करना है। कल से शुरू होकर 2 अप्रैल तक चलने वाले इस सत्र का पहला चरण कल से 13 फरवरी तक होगा। वहीं दूसरा चरण 9 मार्च से 2 अप्रैल तक चलेगा। बजट सत्र में 30 बैठकें होंगी और केंद्रीय बजट 2026-27 1 फरवरी को प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा। राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मु लोकसभा और राज्यसभा दोनों सदनों के सदस्यों को संबोधित करते हुए सत्र का औपचारिक उद्घाटन करेंगी।

Uttarakhand government has implemented an amendment ordinance to reform several provisions of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). It has introduced about a dozen and a half changes, including stringent penal measures against coercion and fraud in marriage and live-in relationships. The Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, came into force with immediate effect after receiving the assent of Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh. The state government has brought this ordinance for necessary amendments to the UCC 2024.

The 20.9 km port -maduravoyal expressway is being built as a double decker corridor passing through key city areas and running largely above the Cooum River. The first 5.7 km stretch from Vanagaram to Koyambedu will remain single deck as older pillars built in 2008 are being reused with existing foundations. The old pillars are being strengthened with fresh concrete to support an 8 metre high flyover which later expands into a double decker corridor inside the city. After entering the Cooum River at Padi Kuppam the flyover expands into a second corridor at 16 metres height near VR Mall after crossing 100 feet road.

The South Western Railways earned a gross revenue of 6939 crore rupees from April to December last year. This is a 16 percent growth over the previous year. The Passenger revenue rose to 2543 crore rupees while freight revenue set a new record at 3976 crore rupees. The railway operated 481 special trains and attached 614 extra coaches during festival seasons and generated an additional 232 crore rupees revenue. Handicapped friendly ramps were built at 126 stations and passenger conveniences were improved with 78 lifts and 62 escalators.
