The document is prepared by the Finance Ministry’s Department of Economic Affairs under the guidance of the Chief Economic Advisor. Union Budget 2026-27 will be presented on Sunday. The first phase of the budget session will be held until 13th of next month. The second phase will take place from 9th March to 2nd April. There will be 30 sittings during the Budget Session.

Uttar Pradesh government has launched a helpline for farmers which will assist them in getting complete information about the welfare schemes run by government. Now, farmers will no longer need to visit government offices repeatedly to get information about the Agriculture Department schemes. All information will be available through a single phone call.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, along with Minister of State Baldev Singh Aulakh, inaugurated the Agriculture Department helpline at the Directorate of Agriculture in Lucknow. Through this helpline, farmers across Uttar Pradesh can get information by calling on the phone number 0522-2317003, from Monday to Friday, between 10 am to 6 pm.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said, the objective of this helpline is to ensure that farmers do not have to wander or make repeated visits for information about schemes.

In men’s cricket, India suffered a 50-run defeat against New Zealand in the fourth T20 International of the five-match series at Visakhapatnam last night. Put into bat first, visitors posted 215 runs for seven wickets in their stipulated 20 overs with the help of Tim Seifert’s 62 off 36 and Devon Conway’s 44 off 23 balls.
In reply, India were bowled out for 165 in 18.4 overs, despite a quick 65 off 23 balls by Shivam Dube and 39 off 30 balls by Rinku Singh. New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner claimed three wickets.
Despite the loss, India continue to hold an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
The fifth and final match will be played on Sunday at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

The ponies and other working equines will get protection under a new State Policy. The rules mandate registration, micro chipping, capped working hours and fixed retirement. The government order makes the owners legally accountable for the condition of their animals and gives authorities powers to seize equines that are overloaded, starved, injured or cruelly treated and shift them to rehabilitation shelters. FIRs can be filed under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and it is also punishable by imprisonment and penalty. Under the new rule, if an animal dies due to neglect, the owner may face a permanant ban from keeping equines. Repeat offenders may be publicly listed and animals that are retired or seized cannot be put back to work. The order stated that every equine must have a unique identity, including a micro chip number, a health card, a vaccination record and a registered owner. Tamil Nadu Animal Welfare Board surveyed 122 equines in Chennai.

Visvesvaraya Technological University Vice-Chancellor Dr S Vidyashankar causioned the interns that separate inspection squads will be appointed to monitor the functioning of students and companies. He was speaking at the inauguration of the workshop on Internship Implementation for Coordinators in Educational Institutions in Bengaluru yesterday. The Vice Chancellor came strongly against the fake internship certificates submitted by the interns. Some companies, he added, have demanded money from the interns though they are meant to be free. He said an internship portal was introduced to control the fake certificates. As of now, 81 thousand students have registered through this portal and their internship will begin from the first week of next month. Mr Vidyashankar said disciplinary action will be initiated against companies demanding money from the interns. The Executive Committee member of the University G Rakesh informed that 14,000 companies are offering internships through the portal. Over 200 internship coordinators from various Engineering colleges participated in the workshop, who will resolve the issues faced by the interns.

The historic Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara, often hailed as the “Kumbh Mela of Telangana,” witnessed its first significant milestone last evening as Goddess Saralamma arrived at the sacred platforms (Gaddelu). Amidst a wave of spiritual fervor and traditional rituals, the goddess was brought from Kannepalli to Medaram, marking the official commencement of the tribal festival’s core events. The proceedings began at the Kannepalli temple with intricate tribal rituals performed by the traditional priests (Pujaris). Before the goddess began her journey, deities from neighboring regions, including Govindarajulu from Kondayi, were brought to the village. Following a two-hour special prayer session led by chief priest Kaka Sarayya and others, the idol of Saralamma left Kannepalli around 7:00 PM. Thousands of devotees lined the route, dancing to drumbeats and seeking blessings as the procession crossed the Jampanna Vagu stream. With the first phase successfully completed, the focus now shifts to the arrival of Goddess Sammakka today, an event that draws millions of pilgrims from across the country.

दिल्ली नगर निगम की स्थायी समिति की अध्यक्ष सत्या शर्मा ने कल इस वित्त वर्ष के लिए निगम का बजट पेश किया। बजट में 17 हजार करोड़ रूपये से अधिक की आय का लक्ष्य रखा गया है, जबकि साढ़े 16 हजार करोड़ रूपये व्यय होने का अनुमान है। इसमें नगर निगम की आय बढ़ाने के लिए संपत्ति कर के दायरे में आने वाले सभी परिसरों से कर वसूली की जाएगी।
दिल्ली में भलस्वा, गाजीपुर और ओखला लैडफिल साइट को कूड़ा मुक्त करने के बाद वहां की खाली भूमि पर हरियाली, जन-सुविधाएं तथा विकास परियोजना शुरू की जाएंगी। तीन सौ से ज्यादा चार्जिंग स्टेशन शुरू स्थापित किये जाएंगे। फिलहाल निगम द्वारा ऐसे 419 स्टेशन संचालित हैं। इसके अलावा, शहर में व्यापक स्तर पर वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम चलाया जाएगा। बजट के अनुसार, निगम के स्कूलों में सीसीटीवी कैमरे और सुरक्षा गार्ड तैनात किए जाएंगे। हर वार्ड में आयुष्मान आरोग्य मंदिर की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी। गर्भवती महिलाओं और नवजात शिशुओं की सुविधा के लिए हर विधानसभा क्षेत्र में मातृ-शिशु केंद्र स्थापित किए जाएंगे।

महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार का अंतिम संस्कार आज सुबह लगभग 11 बजे पुणे जिले के बारामती में पूरे राजकीय सम्मान के साथ किया जाएगा। श्री पवार का कल एक विमान हादसे में निधन हो गया था।

उत्तर मुंबई में 210 हेक्टेयर में फैली खरपतवारग्रस्त, पवई झील से सीवेज निकालने का कार्य शुरू हो गया है। निगम ने झील में कच्चे सीवेज के प्रवाह को पूरी तरह रोकने के लिए मई तक की समय सीमा निर्धारित की है। पवई झील में भारतीय दलदली मगरमच्छ और आईयूसीएन में सूचीबद्ध कई प्रजातियां पाई जाती हैं। बीएमसी के अनुसार, लगभग 18 मिलियन लीटर प्रतिदिन सीवेज झील में आता है। पवई झील को केंद्रीय पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय द्वारा एक प्रमुख आर्द्रभूमि के रूप में सूचीबद्ध किया गया है।

पश्चिम बंगाल में वन विभाग ने चौथे सुंदरबन पक्षी महोत्सव के परिणाम जारी किए हैं। इनमें मुख्य, बफर और आवासीय क्षेत्रों में कुल 30,986 पक्षियों को दर्ज किया गया है। 23 जनवरी से शुरू हुए इस अभियान में छह टीमों में विभाजित 36 पक्षीविज्ञानियों ने भाग लिया। सर्वेक्षण में 168 प्रजातियों की पहचान की गई, जिनमें 111 स्थानीय और 57 प्रवासी प्रजातियां शामिल हैं। रिपोर्ट में किंगफिशर की सात अलग-अलग प्रजातियों की उपस्थिति दर्ज की गई। 14 प्रजातियों को लुप्तप्राय श्रेणी में रखा गया है। यह पहल सुंदरबन बाघ अभ्यारण्य, दक्षिण 24 परगना मंडल वन कार्यालय और राज्य वन विभाग के संयुक्त प्रयासों का हिस्सा थी।
