It added that the programme, organized in New Delhi will highlight stories of bravery, resilience, and selfless service. The programme will also witness cultural performances showcasing the country’s rich civilisational heritage and the spirit of bravery. Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi, will also attend the programme.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate Anti-Terror Conference in New Delhi today. The Ministry of Home Affairs said that the two day conference is a meeting point for operational forces, technical, legal and forensic experts engaged in counter terrorism for deliberations on issues impacting national security and threats emerging out of terrorism. It added that the key focus of the conference will be on developing synergies among various stakeholders by establishing formal and informal channels for coordinated action against the menace of terrorism.
The Ministry also said that the conference will include sessions on collecting evidence from foreign jurisdictions, digital forensics and data analysis in counter terrorism investigations, emerging hybrid threats to national security among others. The two day conference is being organised by the National Investigation Agency.

इस बीच श्री मनोहर लाल ने कहा कि इस पहल से लाखों लोगों को लाभ होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि ये कैंटीन श्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के किसी भी व्यक्ति के भूखा नहीं सोने के सपने को साकार करेगी।

Bangladesh’s deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that Muhammad Yunus-led interim government is perpetrating unspeakable atrocities against non-Muslims in Bangladesh. The 78-year-old Awami League leader also said that the current ruling group, which has seized power illegally, is setting horrific precedents such as burning religious minorities to death, in an apparent reference to the lynching of a Hindu man in Bangladesh last week. In her message on the occasion of Christmas yesterday, Ms. Hasina accused the Yunus government of interfering with the freedom of people of all religions and communities to practice their own faiths. She firmly believes that the people of Bangladesh will not allow this dark time to continue any longer, she said.
The Hindu population in Bangladesh has been affected by a series of incidents against minority communities in the country after the ouster of Hasina government in August last year. Last week, a 25-year-old Hindu worker was lynched by a mob in Mymensingh city.

One of the oldest bird protection areas in India, the Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary located near Chennai not only attracts migratory birds, it also attracts thousands of visitors too. Located at around 80 Kilometers from Chennai, the sanctuary is a freshwater wetland where thousands of migratory water birds gather every year (mainly during the winter months) to nest and breed. This sanctuary is being historically protected by local communities for centuries. An estimated sum of over 25 thousand birds from around 26 species have nested here. Species such as open-billed storks, painted storks, cormorants pelicans, herons, ibises, ducks and spoonbills are commonly seen here. To ease the visitors a digital ticketing system with QR code scanning has been introduced to make entry smoother and manage crowds better during the peak migratory season.

The Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited, KREDL functioning under the State Government has set up a war room for the farmers eligible for the benefits under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan, known in short as KUSUM B scheme in the state. The war room will help address the concerns of the farmers who have applied for KUSUM B scheme. So far 83, 204 farmers have registered online to avail the benefits under the scheme. To be operational till this month end, the war room will provide necessary information over phone about the scheme and address the technical difficulties faced by them. Under this scheme, the farmers can have access to affordable solar energy for their pump sets for agricultural activities. The Central Government provides around 30 percent subsidy for solar pumps for up to 7.5 HP. The State Government has increased the subsidy to 50 percent. The farmers can install grid free solar agricultural pump sets along with solar panels, DC submersible pumps, mounting structures, panel boards, pipes and cables. It also involves five years free maintenance by the supplier. KREDL has advised the farmers to avoid middlemen and call 080 22202100 and 8095132100 for information, online payment and technical issues faced by them. The phone calls are active from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm every day without any leave till the end of this month.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar has issued a stern warning that a zero-tolerance policy will be enforced and made it clear that there will be no leniency for those driving beyond the permissible alcohol limit. Ahead of New Year Celebrations, he personally supervised field-level drunk driving inspections late on last night. He informed that over hundred strategic locations have been identified across seven zones in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, where a Special Enforcement Drive will be carried out till the night of December 31 with intensive checks. He further warned the violators will face immediate seizure of their vehicles, a fine of 10 thousand rupees and a possible prison sentence of up to six months. He added that depending on the severity of the offence, the police will recommend permanent cancellation of driving licence.
