सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति भुषण रामकृष्ण गवई भारत के अगले मुख्य न्यायाधीश होंगे। केंद्रीय कानून और न्याय मंत्री अर्जुन राम मेघवाल ने कहा कि राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मु ने न्यायमूर्ति गवई को भारत के अगले मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में नियुक्त किया है और उनकी नियुक्ति अगले महीने की 14 तारीख से प्रभावी होगी। न्यायमूर्ति गवई 52वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश होंगे। वे वर्तमान मुख्य न्यायाधीश संजीव खन्ना की जगह लेंगे जिनका कार्यकाल अगले महीने की 13 तारीख को समाप्त हो जाएगा।

The Char Dham Yatra will begin today in Uttarakhand with the opening of the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams in the Uttarkashi district on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya. After six months of winter residence in Mukba village, the palanquin of Goddess Ganga was sent off for Gangotri Dham yesterday. Tirtha Purohit Rajesh Semwal said that today, the palanquin journey will proceed from Bhairavghati to Gangotri, where the temple gates will be opened at 10:30 AM with traditional prayers and Vedic chants.
On the other hand, the palanquin of Maa Yamuna will depart from her winter abode in Kharsali this morning for Yamunotri Dham, where the temple gates will be opened at 11:55 AM for devotees. The portals of Kedarnath Dham will open on Friday, and the gates of Badrinath Dham will open on Sunday.
Amid chanting of Vedic hymns and other religious rituals, the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri Temple will be opened. This year, the pilgrimage is anticipated to be more divine and grand, with the state government leaving no stone unturned to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the convenience of pilgrims. State Government has made eleborate arrangements with special focus on security, traffic management, crowd control, health and sanitation. A mock drill was alo conducted to test the preparations. The Ministry of Culture for the first time is holding an exposition of the sacred Buddha Relic of Sarnath in Vietnam during the gala celebrations of the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025. The exposition is being organized in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation. The relic will be ceremonially brought to Delhi today from Sarnath's Mulagandha Kuti Vihara and will be placed at the National Museum for prayers and meditation. Tomorrow, the relic will be transported to Ho Chi Minh City on a special Indian Air Force aircraft, escorted by senior monks. The sacred Relic will be ceremoniously enshrined, venerated, and worshiped from the 2nd to the 8th of May.

A special team from Delhi Police arrested 33 Bangladeshi Nationals residing illegally in Chennai. In a two day search, they picked them from Mangadu and Kundrathur which are suburban areas near Chennai. Investigations revealed that they collected rags from roadsides and lived illegally in the region for more than a year. The Police are probing the illegal way that they had entered the State and are investigating whether they are associated with any terror organisations or involved in any illegal activities during their stay in Chennai.

Training Command Air Officer, Commanding in Chief, Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor laid the foundation for a new state-of-the-art multi-storey hospital complex at Command Hospital Air Force in Bengaluru. The new hospital building will supplement the 157 years old existing Command hospital that caters to around three lakh patients in the OPD. The new hospital will be a state of the art 800 bed facility. It will have 16 modular operation theatres, modern ICUs, high end diagnostic services including advanced imaging and laboratory facilities with a pneumatic chute system.

The special teams of Government Railway Police have traced a total of 130 mobile phones belonging to rail commuters and citizens, which were either lost or stolen during the last month using the Central Equipment Identity Register (C.E.I.R) portal. The recovered phones were handed over to their owners.
GRP officials requested passengers to be careful about their belongings and if any mobile phone theft occurs in railway stations then block their mobile phones with IMEI numbers in CEIR portal immediately by logging at www.ceir.gov.in. Alternatively, passengers who lost mobiles should immediately contact the nearest police station to block IMEI.

महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने नागपुर भोंसले राजवंश के संस्थापक और छत्रपति शाहू महाराज के शासनकाल के दौरान मराठा सेना के प्रमुख कमांडर रघुजी भोंसले की ऐतिहासिक तलवार को प्राप्त कर लिया है। इसे हाल ही में लंदन में नीलामी के लिए रखा गया था। राज्य में सांस्कृतिक मामलों के मंत्री आशीष शेलार ने कल को एक प्रेस वार्ता कहा कि पहली बार राज्य ने नीलामी के माध्यम से विदेशों से एक ऐतिहासिक कलाकृति को पुनः प्राप्त किया है। श्री शेलार ने तलवार को सुरक्षित करने में सहयोग के लिए मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस को धन्यवाद दिया।

महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने राज्य सरकार द्वारा संचालित भिक्षुक गृहों में रहने वाले निर्धनों को दी जाने वाली मामूली वित्तीय सहायता में संशोधन कर दिया है। यह निर्णय लगभग पचास वर्षों के बाद पहली बार लिया गया है। इसके अंतर्गत प्रतिमाह दी जाने वाली पांच रूपये की सांकेतिक राशि को बढाकर 12 सौ रूपये कर दिया गया है। कल राज्य मंत्रिमण्डल ने इस निर्णय को स्वीकृति दी। महाराष्ट्र में 14 भिक्षुक गृह चलाए जाते हैं, जिनमें चार हजार एक सौ 27 लोग रहते हैं। इन भिक्षुक गृहों का उद्देश्य उन लोगों को आश्रय और व्यवसायिक प्रशिक्षण देना है जिन्हें कानून के तहत भिखारियों की श्रेणी में रखा गया है।

She was the first African-American woman and first Native American to hold a pilot license, and is the earliest known Black person to earn an international pilot's license.She attended one term of college at Langston University. Coleman developed an early interest in flying, but African Americans, Native Americans, and women had no flight training opportunities in the United States, so she saved and obtained sponsorships in Chicago to go to France for flight school. Coleman died in a plane crash in 1926.
