श्रोताओं आज विजय दिवस है। 16 दिसंबर यानि आज का दिन, वो दिन है जो भारतीय सेना के अदम्य साहस, अनुशासन और रणनीतिकदक्षता की स्वर्णिम गाथा कहता है। विजय दिवस’ हमें उस ऐतिहासिक क्षण की याद दिलाता है, जब भारत ने अत्याचारकी आग में झुलस रहे लोगों को स्वतंत्रता दिलाने में निर्णायक भूमिका निभाई थी। आज हम 1971 भारत-पाक युद्ध में अपने असाधारण शौर्य और अदम्यवीरता का परिचय देते वाले और देश के लिए जान न्यौछावर करने वाले वीर शहीदो को नमन कर रहे हैं।
Today, on Vijay Diwas, we honour the courage and sacrifices of the brave soldiers who contributed to India’s historic victory in 1971. Vijay Diwas is a day to remember the heroes of the 1971 war whose valor and victory continue to inspire the nation.
This day marks splendid victory achieved by India over Pakistan 49 years ago. The “GREATEST VICTORY EVER” saw the emergence of Bangladesh as an independent nation and India rose as a regional power to reckon with. With this decisive victory over a formidable opponent the Armed Forces of India once again affirmed themselves as a strong component of National power. Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Aurora were the key figures of this victory.
Arun Khetarpal, परमवीर चक्र से सम्मानित भारतीय थे। उन्हें यह सम्मान सन 1971 में मरणोपरांत मिला।1971 में हुआ भारत-पाकिस्तान युद्ध, जिसमें बांग्लादेश पाकिस्तान से छूटकर एक स्वतंत्र देश की तरह जन्मा, भारत के इतिहास में ही नहीं बल्कि पूरी दुनिया के इतिहासमें एक महत्त्वपूर्ण स्थान रखता है। यह युद्ध 17 दिसम्बर,1971 तक चला। इसमें पाकिस्तान ने मुहँ की खाई। वह न केवलहार गया, बल्कि उससे टूट कर उसका राज्य पूर्वी पाकिस्तान एक स्वतंत्र राष्ट्र के रूप में जन्मा, जो बांग्लादेश कहलाया। इस युद्ध में अनेक वीरों ने अपने प्राणों की कुर्बानी दी। सेकेंड लेफ़्टिनेंट अरुण खेत्रपाल उन्हीं में से एक हैं।
Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC was an Indian army officer and a Tank commander, who is recognized as the Indian tank ace of aces, credited with 10 confirmed tank kills.
A posthumous recipient of India’s highest military decoration, the Param Vir Chakra, which he was awarded for his valour in face of the enemy. He was killed in action in the Battle of Basantar during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 where his actions earned him the PVC.
Khetrapal is an iconic figure in the ethos of the Indian Army with prominent constructions being named after him. The parade ground at NDA is named Khetarpal Ground while the auditorium and one of the main gates bear his name at the IMA.
In the midst of the fierce tank battle, 2nd Lt Arun Khetarpal’s tank was hit by enemy fire. However, he refused to abandon his position. His final words over the radio, when ordered to withdraw, were: “No Sir, I will not abandon my tank. My main gun is still working.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने कल अम्मान में जॉर्डन के किंग अब्दुल्ला द्वितीय इब्न अल हुसैन के साथ प्रतिनिधिमंडल स्तर की वार्ता की। यह वार्ता राजनयिक संबंधों के 75 वर्ष पूरे होने की तैयारियों के मद्देनजर घनिष्ठ साझेदारी का परिचायक है। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने आतंकवाद, चरमपंथवाद और कट्टरपंथ के विरुद्ध जॉर्डन के दृढ़ दृष्टिकोण की सराहना की। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत और जॉर्डन आतंकवाद से निपटने में एक समान दृष्टिकोण साझा करते हैं। उन्होंने संयम को बढ़ावा देने में किंग अब्दुल्ला द्वितीय के नेतृत्व की सराहना की। श्री मोदी ने कहा कि द्विपक्षीय संबंधों के अन्य क्षेत्रों के अलावा इस क्षेत्र में सहयोग और प्रगाढ़ होंगे।

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारामन ने कहा है कि तीन दशमलव दो प्रतिशत वैश्विक विकास दर की तुलना में भारत 8 दशमलव दो प्रतिशत की विकास दर के साथ सबसे तेजी से बढ़ती प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्था बन रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि चालू वित्त वर्ष में सभी वैश्विक संस्थाएं देश के विकास के अनुमानों को बढ़ा रही हैं। वित्त मंत्री ने कल लोकसभा में 2025-26 के लिए अनुदान की पूरक मांगों के जवाब में यह बात कही। अमरीका के राष्ट्रपति डॉनल्ड ट्रम्प द्वारा देश की अर्थव्यवस्था के बारे में की गई नकारात्मक टिप्पणी पर विपक्ष की प्रतिक्रिया की मांग पर प्रहार करते हुए वित्त मंत्री ने जोर दिया कि भारत को तीन प्रमुख वैश्विक एजेंसियों – डीबीआरएस, स्टैंडर्ड एंड पूअर्स और आरएंडआई – से रेटिंग अपग्रेड प्राप्त हुए हैं और भारत ने आलोचकों को गलत साबित कर दिया है।

India’s Unemployment Rate (UR), declined to 4.7 per cent in November this year, at its lowest level since April, for individuals aged 15 years and above. According to Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) monthly labour force and unemployment data, rural unemployment eased to a new low of 3.9 percent, while urban unemployment fell to 6.5 percent, matching the lowest reading recorded earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) among persons of age 15 years and above rose to 55.8 per cent in November. The LFPR in rural areas also increased to 58.6 per cent last month while in urban areas it dipped slightly to 50.4 per cent. LFPR is an estimate of the number of people actively engaged in the workforce, in Current Weekly Status.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs has advised Indian Private Hajj Pilgrims to apply early and choose only authorised Hajj Group Organisers for Hajj 2026. In the view of the advisory issued by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the Haj 2026, the Ministry directed people to complete their booking formalities on or before 15 of the next month to avoid last-minute inconveniences and to ensure timely completion of all mandatory processes.

Ayush Mhatre led India will look to continue their winning streak after registering victory over Pakistan beating them by 90 runs in the second match in Dubai on Sunday. Aaron George scored 85 runs off in 88 balls, helping India score 240 runs. In return, Indian bowlers restricted the hosts for just 150 runs.
A total of eight Asian teams are competing across two groups. India has been placed in Group A along with hosts UAE, Pakistan and Malaysia. IIT Madras students who are struggling to complete B.Tech degree will now have an exit option with a B.Sc. degree after three years. They should earn 250 credits out of 400 credits to be eligible for the B.Sc degree. Students from 2024 batch can exercise this option from 2027 onwards. The institute is also planning to make it available for senior students from this academic year. However these students should have tried to complete the degree at least once before opting for the B.Sc. degree. The B.Sc. degree will help students to join higher education, including MBA and appear for civil services. Prof. Prathap Haridoss, Dean of Academic Courses, IIT Madras, said that multiple entry and exit to degree programs is one of the key provisions in National Education Policy.

दिल्ली एनसीआर में वायु प्रदूषण के मद्देनज़र केन्द्र सरकार ने कल एक उच्च स्तरीय समीक्षा बैठक की। बैठक का उद्देश्य राजधानी से सटे गाजियाबाद और नोएडा में वायु प्रदूषण से निपटने के उद्देश्य से बनाई गई कार्ययोजनाओं की समीक्षा करना था। इस समीक्षा बैठक की अध्यक्षता केंद्रीय पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्री भूपेंद्र यादव ने की। इस दौरान श्री यादव ने औद्योगिक इकाइयों में ऑनलाइन सतत उत्सर्जन निगरानी प्रणाली की स्थापना के संबंध में केंद्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड से जानकारी ली।

To save crops from changing weather conditions, coffee growers in the state are installing automated weather stations in their estates. India Meteorological Department and the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Center are offering support to estate owners for this venture, apart from various Research and Educational Institutions.
Officials in the Coffee Board said, weather observatories are being setup in various locations, some of them are obtaining permission and certificates from the Board. These stations will help the farmers, as there is need for accurate weather information during blossoming, harvesting and when been is being dried.

महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने कल मुंबई के प्रतिष्ठित महालक्ष्मी रेसकोर्स मेंलगभग 295 एकड़ में विश्व स्तरीय सेंट्रल पार्क विकसित करने की योजना का अनावरण किया। प्रस्तावित पार्क रेसकोर्स के 125 एकड़ और कोस्टल रोड के किनारे 170 एकड़ में फैला होगा, जिसमें पैदल पथों को छोड़कर कोई भी कंक्रीट निर्माण नहीं होगा। श्री शिंदे ने आश्वासन दिया कि रेसकोर्स की ऐतिहासिक धरोहर को पूरी तरह से संरक्षित रखा जाएगा। उन्होंने ठाणे खाड़ी के किनारे 260 मीटर ऊंचे अवलोकन टावर, टाउन पार्क, एक सम्मेलन केंद्र, अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर का स्नो पार्क, मनोरंजन पार्क, संग्रहालय और एक विशाल खेल परिसर की भी घोषणा की।

The Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to fast-track indigenous drone capabilities for land systems, with the collaboration to be coordinated through the 515 Army Base Workshop in Secunderabad. The MoU was signed between the 515 Army Base Workshop, acting on behalf of the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence and the Directorate General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, and Raghu Vamsi Par East Automation Pvt Ltd. An official release stated that the partnership establishes a pathway from evaluation to field induction and scaling up of drone technologies, aligned with operational requirements and indigenous manufacturing goals. The collaboration is to be coordinated through the Army Base Workshop.
The MoU focuses on technology infusion in drone manufacturing, with emphasis on IC engine-based drones and systems capable of operating in GPS-denied environments. Raghu Vamsi Par East will provide technical consultancy to the Army Base Workshop for comprehensive evaluation of drone technologies.
The Army said the agreement strengthens indigenous capability, reduces dependence on imports for critical unmanned systems and shortens the time required to field drone solutions in support of operations.

In Telangana, the statue of legendary playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam was inaugurated on the premises of Ravindra Bharati, a state-run cultural complex in Hyderabad last evening. Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Haryana former Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and Telangana Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu have formally unveiled the statue.
Paying rich tributes to the late singer, Mr Naidu said his statue will educate the new generation about his contributions to the fields of Culture and Language.
Describing the singer as an “emperor of singing”, he said his voice was versatile and it gave an impression as if the actor himself was singing.
Minister Sridhar Babu called Balasubrahmanyam a multi-dimensional genius” who sang about 40 thousand songs in his long career. He said the singer’s influence transcended caste, religion or region, and he was instrumental in upholding Telugu pride worldwide.

Clarence Leroy Van Cleef Jr. was an American actor best known for his roles in Spaghetti Westerns such as For A Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
After suffering serious injuries in a car crash, Van Cleef had begun to lose interest in his declining career by the time Sergio Leone gave him a major role in For a Few Dollars More. The film made him a box-office draw, especially in Europe. One of the best scenes in cinematic history.

रूप सिंह महान हॉकी खिलाड़ी रूप सिंह का जन्म 8 सितंबर, 1908 को भले ही जबलपुर, मध्यप्रदेश में हुआ, लेकिन कर्म भूमि उनकी ग्वालियर ही बनी। उनकी स्टिक से निकले गोलों ने भारत को दो बार (1932 और 1936 में) ओलम्पिक का स्वर्ण मुकुट पहनाया। लॉस एंजिल्स ओलंपिक में 4 अगस्त को पहले मैच में भारत ने जापान को एकतरफा मुकाबले में 11-1 से हराया। इस मैच में 4 गोल ध्यानचंद ने किए जबकि 3 गोल रूप सिंह की स्टिक से निकले। दूसरा मैच मेजबान 8 अगस्त को अमेरिका से था। भारत ने इस मैच अमेरिका को उसी के दर्शकों के सामने 24-1 से धो डाला। इस मैच में ध्यानचंद ने 8 गोल किए। लेकिन पहली बार ध्यानचंद को गोल ठोंकने में अपने भाई रूप सिंह से यहां मात मिली क्योंकि रूप ने 10 गोल ठोंके। अपने पहले ही ओलंपिक में 13 गोल करने वाले रूप सिंह सर्वश्रेष्ठ खिलाड़ी रहे और भारत दूसरी बार हॉकी में ओलंपिक गोल्ड मेडल जीतने में सफल हुआ। 1932 के ओलंपिक में भारत ने कुल 35 गोल ठोंके और महज 2 गोल खोए।
