The five-day expo is being held alongside the India AI Impact Summit 2026, and will serve as a national demonstration of Artificial Intelligence in action. The Election Commission has ordered disciplinary action against seven Assistant Electoral Registration Officers in West Bengal over multiple allegations of irregularities. Two from Canning Purba, and one each from Suti, Maynaguri, Samsherganj, Debra, and Farakka constituencies are among those facing action. The Commission yesterday sent a letter to the state’s Chief Secretary, Nandini Chakraborty, directing steps against these seven AEROs.
The letter clearly states that evidence has been found of serious misconduct, negligence of duty, and abuse of lawful authority by these officials involved in the SIR process. Therefore, immediate suspension and disciplinary inquiry have been ordered.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has organized an annual Palaash flower Festival 2026 across multiple locations in the national capital. The festival is drawing large crowds to witness vibrant floral displays and themed gardens. Our correspondent reports that this festival is culminating today.
For the first time, the three-day flower festival is being held simultaneously at four venues- Bansera Park, Ashok Vihar, Jasola, and Narela. Specially curated floral installations and creatively designed gardens, developed with a focus on nature, biodiversity and environmental conservation, are captivating visitors across the city. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, Vice Chairman of DDA, N. Saravana Kumar, said that the festival has been a major success, attracting large crowds at all four locations.

Archaeology students from the University of Madras have found a new Stone Age tool making site near Vellore. Based on the tools, researchers said that it could belong to the middle Palaeolithic period. At the foot of Leoragiri Hill, where the villages of Puthur, Karigiri and Erathangal meet, they found artefacts such as multi platform cores , a miniature handaxe points and notched tools, retouched flakes microliths made from quartz material and debitage. Two post grad students from ancient history and archaeology found the site during their explorations .This set of artefacts has the characteristics of the Middle Paleolithic period.

The Bengaluru North City Corporation on Saturday facilitated the adoption of 20 street dogs as part of its ongoing efforts toward humane stray dog management and animal welfare. The dogs were adopted by Mrs. Sujaya Jagadish, Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar informed. The adoption process was carried out in accordance with the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Animal Birth Control Rules, following prescribed humane procedures. All dogs had been sterilized under the ABC programme, vaccinated, health-checked and properly tagged.

पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार के स्वास्थ्य विभाग ने सरकारी अस्पतालों के बाह्य रोगी विभागों में मरीजों की भीड़ कम करने और स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को अधिक सुलभ बनाने के लिए दोपहर के समय भी ओपीडी (आउटडोर क्लिनिक) खुले रखने का निर्णय लिया है। विभाग के सूत्रों के अनुसार, पहले चरण में सुपर-स्पेशलिटी, राज्य सामान्य और उप-मंडल अस्पतालों में ओपीडी दोपहर 3:00 बजे से शाम 6:00 बजे तक संचालित होंगी। सभी जिलों के मुख्य चिकित्सा अधिकारियों (सीएमओएच) को निर्देश जारी कर दिए गए हैं। शुरुआत में, यह सेवा लगभग 85 सरकारी अस्पतालों में शुरू की जाएगी, जिनमें 71 सुपर-स्पेशलिटी, राज्य सामान्य और उप-मंडल अस्पताल और 14 जिला अस्पताल शामिल हैं। सूत्रों ने आगे बताया कि दोपहर की ओपीडी उन विभागों में संचालित होंगी जहां कम से कम चार से पांच डॉक्टर उपलब्ध हैं। इस नए कार्यक्रम को लागू करने के लिए कई जिलों में तैयारियां शुरू हो चुकी हैं।

Indra Sen Johar (16 February 1920 – 10 March 1984) was an Indian actor, writer, producer and director, who excelled in comedic roles and is best known to international audiences for portraying Gasim in the epic film classic Lawrence of Arabia.
Johar acted in numerous Hindi films from the 1950s through to the early 1980s and appeared in international films such as Harry Black (1958), North West Frontier (1959), Lawrence of Arabia (1962) and Death on the Nile (1978), besides acting in Maya (1967), a US TV series. He also appeared in Punjabi films, including Chaddian Di Doli (1966), Nanak Nam Jahaz Hai (1969) with Prithviraj Kapoor, and Yamla Jatt with Helen.
