Union Civil Avition Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu will flag off the inaugural flight of the Dhruv NG helicopter in Bengaluru today. The Advanced Light Helicopter-Next Generation (Dhruv NG) is the civil version of the indigenous helicopter showcased by HAL at Aero India 2025. It can carry 6 to 14 passengers and will be used for tourism, VIP travel, disaster relief, flood management, and offshore operations. The helicopter is powered by indigenous Shakti engines and includes upgraded features for civil certification.

India’s solar power capacity has crossed 130 Gigawatt as of November this year, according to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. This marks a 41 percent increase from last year’s capacity of over 94 Gigawatt.
The Ministry informed that more than 3,000 Megawatt of solar projects were commissioned this year in various solar parks under the Solar Parks and Ultra-Mega Solar Power Projects scheme. In addition, government entities commissioned around 3 Gigawatt of solar power projects under the solar power commissioning program.

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia passed away at a hospital in Dhaka this morning. She was 80. This was disclosed by BNP in social media post. BNP’s Media Cell said, Khaleda Zia died while receiving medical care at a private hospital. Khaleda Zia, a two-time prime minister, was one of the most prominent figures in Bangladesh’s politics for decades and served as BNP chairperson for many years.

Chennai will soon have a real-time bus arrival system to help passengers plan their travel and reduce waiting time. As part of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) project funded by JICA, LED display boards have been installed at 500 bus stops and 65 bus stands. These boards show live bus arrival times using GPS data from MTC buses and are also linked to the Chennai One mobile app. Around 3,000 buses are already fitted with tracking devices. Trial runs have been successful, and the system is expected to be fully operational by March 2026.

The Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) organised a Walkathon for Cleanliness near Bengaluru in collaboration with the Hesaraghatta and Huralichikkanahalli gram panchayats. Yelahanka MLA S R Vishwanath flagged off the event. He urged citizens to maintain cleanliness as part of the Swachh Bharat mission, avoid littering, and adopt good waste management practices. The walkathon promoted messages on waste segregation, reducing plastic use, and keeping the environment clean and green.

The Telangana government has reorganised police commissionerates in Hyderabad, increasing their number from three to four by creating a new Future City commissionerate. The move aims to improve public services, law and order, and crime control as the city expands.
As part of the changes, Rachakonda commissionerate has been renamed Malkajgiri, with revised boundaries. Cyberabad will now focus mainly on IT and nearby industrial areas, while the Hyderabad commissionerate’s jurisdiction has expanded to include Shamshabad airport and the upcoming High Court complex at Budvel.
The reorganisation follows the expansion of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) up to the Outer Ring Road and the development of the Bharat Future City.

राजधानी दिल्ली में देश का सबसे बड़ा साहित्य तथा सांस्कृतिक उत्सव शब्दोत्सव का आयोजन किया जाएगा। दिल्ली के कला और संस्कृति मंत्री कपिल मिश्रा ने बताया कि यह उत्सव अगले महीने की दो तारीख से चार तारीख तक मेजर ध्यानचंद स्टेडियम में आयोजित किया जाएगा। इस कार्यक्रम में 40 से अधिक पुस्तकों का विमोचन, सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुतियां और कवियों की सभाएं होंगी। कला मंत्री ने बताया कि इस तीन दिवसीय कार्यक्रम में दिल्ली एनसीआर के चालीस से ज़्यादा विश्वविद्यालयों के छात्र भाग लेंगे। कार्यक्रम के लिए दिल्ली शब्दोत्सव की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर पंजीकरण कराया जा सकता है। कार्यक्रम में प्रवेश नि:शुल्क है।

बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम-बीएमसी ने नव वर्ष 2026 के उत्सव से पहले नागरिकों और प्रतिष्ठानों के लिए अग्नि सुरक्षा से जुड़े दिशानिर्देश जारी किए हैं। नगर निगम के अधिकारियों ने दुर्घटनाओं और जानमाल के नुकसान को रोकने के लिए अग्नि सुरक्षा के प्रति सतर्कता के महत्व पर जोर दिया है। बीएमसी और मुंबई अग्निशमन विभाग ने प्रतिष्ठान मालिकों और कार्यक्रम आयोजकों के लिए, अलार्म, अग्निशामक यंत्र आदि जैसे अग्नि सुरक्षा उपकरणों को कार्यशील स्थिति में रखने की सलाह दी है। उन्होंने कार्यक्रमों के दौरान आपातकालीन निकास द्वार खुले रखने और दरवाजों को बिना ताला लगाए रखने का भी आग्रह किया है।

बीएमसी चुनावों के लिए नामांकन दाखिल करने की अंतिम तिथि नजदीक आने के साथ ही, प्रमुख राजनीतिक दल सीट बंटवारे की व्यवस्था को अंतिम रूप दे रहे हैं और उम्मीदवारों की सूची जारी कर रहे हैं। दलों ने एबी फॉर्म जारी करना शुरू कर दिया है। भारतीय जनता पार्टी ने चुनावों के लिए 66 उम्मीदवारों की पहली सूची जारी की है। भाजपा उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे की शिवसेना के साथ गठबंधन में चुनाव लड़ रही है। भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस ने भी बीएमसी चुनावों के लिए 87 उम्मीदवारों की पहली सूची जारी की है। इस बीच, अधिकारियों ने बताया कि बीएमसी चुनाव के लिए मुंबई में लगभग 50,000 मतदान कर्मचारियों को चुनाव ड्यूटी के लिए प्रशिक्षण दिया जा रहा है।

पुण्यतिथियों में आज सबसे पहला नाम है विक्रम साराभाई का जिनको भारत के ‘अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम का जनक’ माना जाता है। (अंग्रेज़ी: Vikram Sarabhai, जन्म- 12 अगस्त, 1919, अहमदाबाद; मृत्यु- 30 दिसम्बर, 1971, तिरुवनंतपुरम) इनका पूरा नाम ‘डॉ. विक्रम अंबालाल साराभाई’ था। इन्होंने भारत को अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान के क्षेत्र में नई ऊँचाईयों पर पहुँचाया और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानचित्र पर देश की उपस्थिति दर्ज करा दी। विक्रम साराभाई ने अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी समान रूप से पुरोगामी योगदान दिया। वे अंत तक वस्त्र, औषधीय, परमाणु ऊर्जा, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और कई अन्य क्षेत्रों में लगातार काम करते रहे थे। डॉ. साराभाई एक रचनात्मक वैज्ञानिक, एक सफल और भविष्यद्रष्टाउद्योगपति, सर्वोच्च स्तर के प्रर्वतक, एक महान् संस्थान निर्माता, एक भिन्न प्रकार के शिक्षाविद, कला के पारखी, सामाजिक परिवर्तन के उद्यमी, एक अग्रणी प्रबंधन शिक्षक तथा और बहुत कुछ थे। पुरुस्कारों की अगर बात करें तो उन्हें शांतिस्वरूप भटनागर पुरस्कार (1962),पद्मभूषण (1966) और पद्मविभूषण, मरणोपरांत (1972) जैसे पुरुस्कारों से सम्मानित किया गया!

Robert Boyle was one of the most prolific figures in the scientific revolution and the leading scientist of his day. He was a proponent of the mechanical philosophy which sought to explain natural phenomena in terms of matter and motion, rather than appealing to Aristotelian substantial forms and qualities. He was a champion of experimental science, claiming that theory should conform to observation and advocating openness in the publication of experimental results, the replication of experiments for empirical corroboration, and the importance of recording even those experiments that failed, at a time when these ideas were revolutionary. He defended and developed the distinction between primary and secondary qualities and supported it with detailed experimental evidence. With the help of his colleague Robert Hooke (1635-1703), he designed and improved an air pump capable of creating and sustaining a vacuum and used it to perform many famous experiments, investigating things like respiration, disease, combustion, sound, and air pressure.

Mrinal Sen (born May 14, 1923-December 30, 2018)
the Indian filmmaker who used a range of aesthetic styles to explore the social and political realities of his homeland. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of India’s parallel cinema in general and Bengali cinema in particular. He is noted for his experiments with form as well as the charged narratives of films such as Padatik (1973; “The Guerilla Fighter”), made during the Naxalite movement in the 1960s and 1970s. Sen’s most enduring work is Bhuvan Shome (1969), which is considered by many as the first Indian film in the parallel cinema or new wave movement. His first film, Raat Bhore (The Dawn, 1956), met with little success. His second film, Neel Akasher Neechey (1959; “Under the Blue Sky”), had political overtones and centered on an immigrant Chinese worker in 1930s Bengal. Baishey Sravana (The Wedding Day, 1960) and Punascha (Over Again, 1961), both dealing with marital relationships, reflected Sen’s political fervor as well as his admiration for the films of the Italian and his colleague.

दुष्यंत कुमार (अंग्रेज़ी: Dushyant Kumar, जन्म: 1 सितम्बर, 1933; मृत्यु: 30 दिसम्बर, 1975) एक हिंदी कवि और ग़ज़लकार थे। समकालीन हिन्दी कविता विशेषकर हिन्दी ग़ज़ल के क्षेत्र में जो लोकप्रियता दुष्यंत कुमार को मिली, वो दशकों बाद विरले किसी कवि को नसीब होती है। दुष्यंत एक कालजयी कवि हैं और ऐसे कवि समय काल में परिवर्तन हो जाने के बाद भी प्रासंगिक रहते हैं। दुष्यंत का लेखन स्वर सड़क से संसद तक गूँजता है। इस कवि ने कविता, गीत, ग़ज़ल, काव्य, नाटक, कथा आदि सभी विधाओं में लेखन किया लेकिन गज़लों की अपार लोकप्रियता ने अन्य विधाओं को नेपथ्य में डाल दिया। उनकी एक कविता हो गई है पीर पर्वत सी, इसका रिसाइटेशन सुन लेते हैं गायिका कविता सेठ की आवाज़ में-

we are remembering Rudyard Kipling was a prolific poet,short-story writer novelist and journalist and one of the most well-known Victorian writers of his time. In 1907, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature for his great body of work which included ‘The Jungle Book’ and his enduring poetic masterpiece ‘If’. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907.

रघुवीर सहाय (अंग्रेज़ी: Raghuvir Sahay, जन्म- 9 दिसंबर, 1929, लखनऊ; मृत्यु- 30 दिसंबर, 1990, दिल्ली) की गणना हिंदी साहित्य के उन कवियों में की जाती है जिनकी भाषा और शिल्प में पत्रकारिता का प्रभाव होता था और उनकी रचनाओं में आम आदमी की व्यथा झलकती थी। रघुवीर सहाय एक प्रभावशाली कवि होने के साथ ही साथ कथाकार, निबंध लेखक और आलोचक थे। वह प्रसिद्ध अनुवादक और पत्रकार भी थे। उन्हें वर्ष 1982 में उनकी पुस्तक ‘लोग भूल गये हैं’ के लिए साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार दिया गया।

Ellas Bates McDaniel (December 30, 1928 – June 2, 2008), Bo Diddley, we are remembering guitarist and singer who played a key role in the transition from the blues to rock and roll. He influenced many artists, including Buddy Holly the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Animals George Thorogood, Syd Barrett, Tom Petty and the Clash.
His use of African rhythms and a signature beat a simple five-accent hambone rhythm, is a cornerstone of hip hop, rock and pop music. In recognition of his achievements, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, the Blues Hall of Fame in 2003, and the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame in 2017.He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Diddley is also recognized for his technical innovations, including his use of tremolo and reverb effects to enhance the sound of his distinctive rectangular guitars.

राजेन्द्र अवस्थी (अंग्रेज़ी: Rajendra Awasthi, जन्म- 25 जनवरी, 1930, जबलपुर; मृत्यु- 30 दिसम्बर, 2009, दिल्ली) भारत के प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार और पत्रकार थे। वे ‘कादम्बिनी पत्रिका’ के सम्पादक थे। उन्होंने जहाँ एक पत्रकार के रूप में कई मापदण्ड स्थापित किये, वहीं अपने साहित्य सृजन में भी अद्भुत सफलता प्राप्त की थी। राजेन्द्र अवस्थी ‘नवभारत’, ‘सारिका’, ‘नंदन’ और ‘साप्ताहिक हिन्दुस्तान’ के सम्पादक भी रहे थे। उन्होंने कई चर्चित उपन्यासों, कहानियों एवं कविताओं की रचना की।

जे. बी. मोरायश (अंग्रेज़ी: John Baptist Moraes, जन्म- 1933; मृत्यु- 30 दिसम्बर, 2014) कोंकणी भाषा के कवि व लेखक थे। वर्ष 1985 में इन्हें साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था। साहित्यकार जे. बी. मोरायश का जन्म सन 1933 में कर्नाटक के कल्लामुंडकूर नामक स्थान पर हुआ। उनका पहला कविता संग्रह ‘नोंनी व्होकोले’ नाम से तथा पहला कहानी संग्रह ‘कोशेददान’ नाम से 1977 में प्रकाशित हुआ था। उन्हें 1985-1986 में कोंकणी में लिखे गए ‘भितरलें तूफान’ के लिए ‘साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार’ द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया।

Richard Rodgers (born June 28, 1902,- December 30, 1979) was one of the dominant composers of American musical comedy, known especially for his works in collaboration with the librettists Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein II. Rodgers wrote more than 1,500 songs and more than 50 musicals, including such landmarks of American theater as Pal Joey (1940), Oklahoma! (1943), and The Sound of Music (1959). Rodgers is one of the few entertainment figures to have achieved EGOT status, having won all four of the major performing-arts awards in North America Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.
