Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with his Mauritian counterpart  Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam. In a social media post, Mr Modi said that during the conversation both the leaders reaffirmed commitment to strengthen the special, historic and people-centric ties that unite both nations. Both leaders also reviewed progress in the wide-ranging cooperation. The Prime Minister further said that India and Mauritius will continue to work together to achieve shared objectives of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region. Mr Modi also said that he looks forward to welcoming Dr Ramgoolam for the AI Impact Summit next week.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that the India-US trade deal is the best agreement in the national interest, in which the interests of farmers have been fully safeguarded. Talking to media after Govardhan parikrama at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, the Agriculture Minister said, the trade agreement will give new wings to the dreams of India’s farmers, women, and youth, enabling them to soar to new heights of progress and development. He claimed that major grains including wheat and paddy have been completely protected in this agreement.

Uttar Pradesh became the first state of the country to present its own ‘Economic Survey’ report showcasing the pace of development and acceleration in industrialization. Finance Minister of state Suresh Khanna today tabled the Economic Review Report of the state Government for the year 2025-26 in the Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly. As per the survey the state’s contribution to the national economy has increased from 8.6 per cent in the year 2016-17 to 9.1 per cent in the year 2024-25. The survey also states that size of state economy has doubled from rupees 13.30 lakh crore in 2016-17 to rupees 30.25 lakh crore (3.25 lakh crore) in 2024-25, and is poised to reach  36 lakh crore rupees in 2025-26.

भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग ने अशोक कुमार को दिल्ली का नया मुख्य चुनाव अधिकारी नियुक्त किया है। वह आर एलिस वाज़ की जगह कार्यभार संभालेंगे। आयोग ने दिल्ली के मुख्य सचिव को लिखे पत्र में कहा कि श्री कुमार को अविलम्ब दिल्ली राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी का पदभार ग्रहण करना होगा।

निर्वाचन आयोग ने जनवरी में दिल्ली सरकार से मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी के चयन के लिए तीन आईएएस अधिकारियों की सूची सौंपने को कहा था। दिल्ली की रेखा गुप्ता सरकार द्वारा निर्वाचन आयोग को भेजी सूची में श्री अशोक कुमार का नाम शामिल था।

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is set to flag off the nationwide ‘Vande Mataram Cyclothon 2026’ today to create public awareness on coastal security.The initiative marks 27 years of CISF service and 150 years of the song ‘Vande Mataram’. A team of 65 CISF cyclists is travelling across nine coastal states and four Union Territories as part of the campaign.

The cyclothon aims to sensitise coastal communities about threats such as drug trafficking, arms smuggling and explosives movement, while strengthening coordination between citizens and security agencies.
In Maharashtra, the cyclothon will be flagged off from the Tarapur CISF unit today, and the state leg will conclude in Ratnagiri on 14th of this month, after which the team will proceed towards Goa.

राजधानी में वायु प्रदूषण से निपटने के लिए दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कल छह नए सतत परिवेशी वायु गुणवत्ता निगरानी स्टेशन – सी.ए.ए.क्यू.एम.एस का ऑनलाइन उद्घाटन किया। साथ ही, सौ वायु रक्षक वाहनों को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। इस अवसर पर, श्रीमती गुप्ता ने कहा कि प्रदूषण के खिलाफ अभियान केवल सर्दियों तक सीमित नहीं रहेगा, बल्कि पूरे वर्ष लगातार कार्रवाई की जाएगी। उन्होंने बताया कि नए स्टेशन जेएनयू, इग्नू, एनएसयूटी के वेस्ट कैंपस, कॉमनवेल्थ स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स, दिल्ली कैंट और तालकटोरा गार्डन में स्थापित किए गए हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने ये भी जानकारी दी कि अब दिल्ली में इन स्टेशनो की कुल संख्या बढ़कर 46 हो गई है।

इस अवसर पर उपस्थित दिल्‍ली के पर्यावरण मंत्री मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने कहा कि वायु रक्षक यह सुनिश्चित करेंगे कि नियम सिर्फ कागज़ों तक सीमित न रहें, बल्कि जमीन पर लागू हों। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदूषण को केवल एक सेक्टर से नहीं, बल्कि वाहन, सड़क निर्माण, धूल नियंत्रण और पौधारोपण, सभी मोर्चों पर एकसाथ नियंत्रित किया जा रहा है।

The fourth edition of the Indian Library Congress is coming to the City for the first time on the 16th and 17th of this month. The program will be held at the Anna Centenary Library. It will have ten sessions addressing topics such as library policy and federalism, and the role of libraries in knowledge production and social justice. महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने राज्य सरकार के विभागों में सत्‍तर हजार से अधिक रिक्त पदों को भरने के लिए नई संशोधित भर्ती प्रणाली के तहत चरणबद्ध भर्ती अभियान की घोषणा की है। सोमवार को मुंबई में सेवा भर्ती नियमों की समीक्षा बैठक को संबोधित करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि लगभग बीस हजार पद महाराष्ट्र लोक सेवा आयोग -एमपीएससी के माध्यम से भरे जाएंगे, जबकि शेष रिक्तियों को अन्य भर्ती एजेंसियों के माध्यम से भरा जाएगा। मुख्यमंत्री ने पारदर्शिता, कौशल आधारित चयन और विलंब एवं अनियमितताओं से बचने के लिए डिजिटल सत्यापन, डिजीलॉकर और ब्लॉकचेन तकनीक के उपयोग पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि इस पहल से सभी विभागों में प्रशासनिक दक्षता में उल्लेखनीय सुधार होगा।

The center of Excellence for Rare Disease at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bengaluru has started conducting blood transfusions on foetuses in cases of anaemia and differing Rhesus (RH) factors between the mother and foetus.

Usually, when the child and mother have different THs -the mother is negative and while father and the baby are positive, during  and the end of pregnancy, the mother receives an injection called anti ‘D’.
In a subsequent pregnancy if there is another RH Positive baby, these antibodies can cross the placenta and attack the baby’s blood cells, causing Haemolitic Disease of Newborn, which can lead to anaemia, jaundice or even death. To save the foetus from HDN, doctors are resorting blood transfusions.

The transfusion facility will be free of cost Asked whether the  initiative will be expanded to other government hospitals a senior officer said , “ blood transfusion is usually needed in rare cases, so patients will be referred to IndiraGandhi hospital instead of offering service everywhere.

सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने आज पश्चिम बंगाल में मतदाता सूचियों के विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण -एसआईआर को बिना किसी बाधा के जारी रखने का निर्देश दिया है, साथ ही दस्तावेजों की जांच की समय सीमा को एक सप्ताह के लिए बढ़ा दिया है। पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार द्वारा दायर याचिका पर दिए गए इस फैसले को सत्तारूढ़ तृणमूल कांग्रेस -टीएमसी और मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी के लिए एक बड़ा झटका माना जा रहा है और इससे अंतिम मतदाता सूची के प्रकाशन में देरी होने की संभावना है।

मुख्य न्यायाधीश सूर्यकांत, न्यायमूर्ति जॉयमाल्य बागची और विपुल एम. पंचोली की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि आवश्‍यकतानुसार न्यायालय केवल प्रक्रियात्मक मामलों में ही हस्तक्षेप करेगा, लेकिन न्‍यायालय ने कहा कि एसआईआर प्रक्रिया में किसी भी प्रकार की बाधा बर्दाश्त नहीं की जाएगी। न्यायालय ने राज्य सरकार को आज शाम 5 बजे तक 8 हजार पांच सौ पांच ग्रुप-बी अधिकारियों के नाम मतदाता पंजीकरण अधिकारियों-ईआरओ को सौंपने का आदेश दिया। इस सूची से, चुनाव आयोग ईआरओ और सहायक ईआरओ की सहायता के लिए माइक्रो ऑबजर्वर की नियुक्ति करेगा ताकि वे चुनावी डेटाबेस में विसंगतियों को दूर कर सकें।

जांच प्रक्रिया के विस्तार के कारण, अंतिम मतदाता सूची के प्रकाशन की समयसीमा आगे बढ़ा दी गई है। राज्य के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी मनोज कुमार अग्रवाल ने पुष्टि की कि अंतिम सूची 21 फरवरी से पहले जारी नहीं की जा सकती है । इसे अब 28 फरवरी तक प्रकाशित करने की योजना है।
मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी के कार्यालय के अनुसार, 13 दशमलव 9 मिलियन मतदाताओं की सुनवाई पूरी हो चुकी है, जबकि 10 दशमलव 6 मिलियन मतदाताओं के दस्तावेज अपलोड कर दिए गए हैं। शेष कार्य को यथाशीघ्र पूरा करने के प्रयास जारी हैं।

To further national research and the blue economy, INCOIS exchanged strategic agreements with the Space Applications Centre, ICCS, and ALEAP. The celebrations coincided with the WCSSP India Annual Review Meeting, drawing nearly 100 experts from India and the UK. Director Dr. T. M. Balakrishnan Nair emphasized that these advancements reinforce INCOIS’s commitment to providing life-saving, user-focused science to coastal communities and maritime stakeholders.

Reflective symmetry has been observed since ancient times. Legend claims that early Egyptians would place two or three slabs of highly polished limestone together at different angles and watch with fascination as mandalas were formed by human dancers. It was not until centuries later, however, that this optical phenomenon was encased in one small tube and given a name. The kaleidoscope was invented and exhibited in 1816 by David Brewster. (The patent would be granted in 1817.) He was a man with as many facets as his invention. Whether delving into scientific research, religion, philosophy, education, optics, photography, writing, inventions, or life on other planets, David pursued each endeavor with incredible energy. He constructed a telescope when only ten years old. This would prove indicative of the chief bent of Brewster’s work and genius. Nature endowed him with some of its choice gifts: dose observation, unceasing inquiry, and a scientific proclivity. Far before his peers, he absorbed all that was available in elementary Scottish education. Because he evidenced an exceptional aptitude for learning.

आज पुण्यतिथि है सुदामा पांडेय धूमिल की। उनका जन्म: 9 नवंबर, 1936 को वाराणसी, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था। (मृत्यु: 10 फ़रवरी, 1975) वे हिन्दी के समकालीन कवि थे। उनकी कविताओं में आज़ादी के सपनों के मोहभंग की पीड़ा और आक्रोश की सबसे सशक्त अभिव्यक्ति मिलती है। व्यवस्था जिसने जनता को छला है, उसको आइना दिखाना मानो धूमिल की कविताओं का परम लक्ष्य है। इन्हें मरणोपरांत 1979 में साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।आपकी मुख्य रचनाएँ संसद से सड़क तक, कल सुनना मुझे, धूमिल की कविताएं, क़िस्सा जनतंत्र, मोचीराम आदि हैं।

On November 8, 1895, physicist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen (1845-1923) becomes the first person to observe X-rays, a significant scientific advancement that would ultimately benefit a variety of fields, most of all medicine, by making the invisible visible. Röntgen’s discovery occurred accidentally in his Wurzburg, Germany, lab, where he was testing whether cathode rays could pass through glass when he noticed a glow coming from a nearby chemically coated screen. He dubbed the rays that caused this glow X-rays because of their unknown nature.X-rays are electromagnetic energy waves that act similarly to light rays, but at wavelengths approximately 1,000 times shorter than those of light. Röntgen holed up in his lab and conducted a series of experiments to better understand his discovery. He learned that X-rays penetrate human flesh but not higher-density substances such as bone or lead and that they can be photographed.

आज पुण्‍यतिथ‍ि है गुलशेर ख़ाँ शानी की। उनका जन्म: 16 मई, 1933 को जगदलपुर, मध्‍य प्रदेश में हुआ था। (मृत्यु: 10 फ़रवरी, 1995) वे प्रसिद्ध कथाकार और साहित्य अकादमी की पत्रिका ‘समकालीन भारतीय साहित्य’ और ‘साक्षात्कार’ के संस्थापक-संपादक थे। ‘नवभारत टाइम्स’ में भी उन्होंने कुछ समय काम किया। अनेक भारतीय भाषाओं के अलावा रूसी, लिथुवानी, चेक और अंग्रेज़ी में भी उनकी रचनाएं अनूदित हुईं। वे मध्य प्रदेश के ‘शिखर सम्मान’ से अलंकृत और उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा पुरस्कृत साहित्‍यकार हैं।

आज जन्मदिन है माधबी मुखर्जी का। वे एक भारतीय अभिनेत्री हैं। बांगला सिनेमा की महानतम अभिनेत्रियों में गिनी जाने वाली, उन्होंने बांगला सिनेमा की कुछ सबसे प्रशंसित फिल्मों में अभिनय किया है। उन्हें बांगला फिल्म दिबारात्रिर काब्यो में अपने अभिनय के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेत्री का राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कार मिला। उन्होंने प्रेमेंद्र मित्रा की फिल्म कांकन तला लाइट रेलवे (1950) से अपने अभिनय करियर की शुरुआत की। उनकी पहली मुख्य भूमिका तपन सिन्हा की फिल्म टॉन्सिल (1956) में थी। बाद में मृणाल सेन ने अपनी फिल्म बाइशे श्रावण (1960) में उनका नाम बदलकर “माधबी” रख दिया। उन्होंने रित्तिक घटक की फिल्म सुबर्णरेखा, मेघे ढाका तारा और कोमल गांधार में अभिनय किया।  उन्होंने सत्यजीत राय की फिल्म महानगर में भी अभिनय किया है।

आज जन्‍म दिवस है के सी बोकाडिया का। उनका जन्म 10 फरवरी 1949 को जयपुर, राजस्थान में हुआ है। वे एक भारतीय फिल्म निर्माता और निर्देशक हैं। उन्होंने प्यार झुकता नहीं, तेरी मेहरबानियां, नसीब अपना अपना, हम तुम्हारे हैं सनम, प्यार जिंदगी है और मैं तेरा दुश्मन का निर्माण किया है। उन्होंने फूल बने अंगारे, पुलिस और मुजरिम, इंसानियत के देवता, आज का अर्जुन, कुदरत का कानून के निर्माता थे।

दक्कन क्रॉनिकल ने उन्हें “50 फिल्में बनाने वाले सबसे तेज़ निर्माता” कहा। जून 2021 तक, उन्होंने विभिन्न भारतीय भाषाओं में 60 से अधिक फिल्में बनाई थीं।

आज जयंती है बालकवि बैरागी की। उनका वा‍स्‍तविक नाम नंद रामदास बैरागी है। उनका जन्‍म 10 फरवरी 1931 को रामपुर, मंदसौर, मध्य प्रदेश में हुआ था। (13 मई 2018), उन्हें राष्ट्रकवि बालकवि बैरागी के नाम से जाना जाता है, भारत के एक हिंदी कवि, फिल्म गीतकार और राजनीतिज्ञ थे। उनके मालवी भाषा के गीतों, जैसे कि बेहद लोकप्रिय ‘पनिहारी’ (पानी ढोती महिला), ने मालवा क्षेत्र में बोली जाने वाली हिंदी की एक बोली, मालवी को मुख्यधारा की हिंदी कविता में एक मंच प्रदान किया। उन्हें राष्ट्रकवि के रूप में सम्मानित किए जाने वाले कई कवियों में से एक माना जाता है।
