The External Affairs Ministry has stressed that disrespectful acts such as demolishing statues of deities hurt the sentiments of followers around the world, and should not take place. In response to media queries on the demolition of Hindu deity statue in an area affected by the ongoing Thai-Cambodia border dispute, Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Hindu and Buddhist deities are deeply revered and worshipped by people across the region, as part of shared civilizational heritage. He urged the two sides to return to dialogue and diplomacy, to resume peace and avoid any further loss of lives, and damage to property and heritage.

Playing for Delhi, Virat Kohli scored 131 off 101 balls while chasing a target of 299 runs set by Andhra Pradesh at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru. Delhi won the match by 4 wickets with Priyansha Arya and Nitish Rana’s half centuries, adding to Kohli’s ton.

Moreover, Bihar scored highest ever total in List A Cricket with 574 for 6 in 50 overs against Arunachal Pradesh in Plate Group match at the JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi. Batting first, Bihar’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 190 off 84 balls, while skipper Sakibul Gani remained unbeaten with 128 runs in just 40 balls. बृहन्मुंबई महानगर पालिका-बीएमसी चुनावों के लिए महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे के नेतृत्व में शिवसेना ने पार्टी के 40 प्रमुख प्रचारकों की सूची जारी की है। इस सूची में पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेताओं और जाने-माने चेहरों को शामिल किया गया है। बीएमसी सहित 29 नगर निगमों के लिए होने वाले इन महत्वपूर्ण चुनावों के लिए मतदान 15 जनवरी को होगा। मतगणना 16 जनवरी को होगी।

भारतीय अंतरिक्ष यात्री ग्रुप कैप्टन शुभांशु शुक्ला ने कल भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान-आईआईटी मुम्बई में वार्षिक टेकफेस्ट में कहा कि अंतरिक्ष से देखने पर भारत आज आत्मविश्वास से भरा, सक्षम, साहसी और निडर दिखाई देता है। श्री शुक्ला ने कहा कि अंतरिक्ष में रहने का अनुभव असाधारण है और भारतीय वायु सेना के कठोर प्रशिक्षण ने इस कार्य को आसान बना दिया। श्री शुक्ला ने अंतरिक्ष स्टेशन में अपने प्रवास के दौरान घटी कुछ रोचक और मनोरंजक घटनाओं का भी वर्णन किया।

The Synchronized Bird Census for the year 2025–2026 is proposed to be conducted in two phases by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. This includes Wetland Bird Census including inland and coastal wetlands and Terrestrial Bird Census. During the last year exercise, a total of 397 bird species were recorded, including both migratory and resident populations, and the overall bird count was calculated to 5.5 lakhs.
The Wetland Bird Census is scheduled to be conducted on 27th and 28th December 2025, as the migratory bird season in Tamil Nadu generally begins with the onset of the North- East Monsoon in October and continues till April. The timing is chosen to bridge the data gaps during early part of the migratory season.
The Wetland Bird Census will be conducted in a minimum of 25 locations per Forest Division. In the state-wide bird census, experienced birdwatchers, volunteers, NGO representatives, professional photographers, and Forest Department officials will participate in this mega exercise.

कोलकाता मेट्रो रेल ने क्रिसमस पर आज यात्रियों की सुरक्षा, संरक्षण और सुगम आवागमन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सुरक्षा उपायों को काफी मजबूत करने का निर्णय लिया है। इसके लिए रेलवे सुरक्षा बल के अतिरिक्त कर्मियों को पूरे नेटवर्क पर तैनात किया जा रहा है। किसी भी संभावित आपात स्थिति से निपटने के लिए, पार्क स्ट्रीट, मैदान और एस्प्लेनेड स्टेशनों पर त्वरित कार्रवाई दल तैनात रहेंगे।
पर्याप्त संख्या में महिला आरपीएफ अधिकारी और कर्मचारी पार्क स्ट्रीट पर तैनात रहेंगी। इस स्टेशन पर आमतौर पर त्यौहारों के दौरान सबसे अधिक भीड़ होती है। केंद्रीय नियंत्रण कक्ष से चौबीसों घंटे सीसीटीवी से कड़ी निगरानी रखी जाएगी। किसी भी अप्रिय घटना को रोकने के लिए खोजी कुत्तों की टुकड़ियों को भी तैनात किया जाएगा।

The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission from Karnataka State Government and the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry, FKCCI have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to drive the ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ initiative to transform the districts in Karnataka into vibrant digital and economic hubs. Its objective is to decentralise IT growth, create district level employment and leveraging technology for balanced economic development across the state. Speaking at the MoU signing event, the Secretary in the Department of Electronics, IT,BT and Science and Technology in Karnataka Dr N Manjula highlighted the ongoing efforts to build IT hubs beyond Bengaluru in six operational clusters outside the state capital. She informed that collaborative governance, MSME digitisation, AI led delivery mechanism, tech upskilling programs and local economic accelerator initiatives by the Government will help usher in inclusive growth.

In Telangana, several trade and industry bodies have expressed concerns over recent policy and regulatory developments and cautioned that abrupt changes could hinder the state growth story. They have urged the state government to reconsider these pressing issues, which include power tariffs rules, the lack of renewable energy clearances and the sudden implementation of government orders under the Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy (HILTP). Among others. About a dozen industry bodies, including the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), Telangana Industrialists Federation (TIF), Telangana Iron and Steel Manufacturers Association (TISMA), Telangana State Tool Manufacturers Association (TSTMA) among others represent the interests of over 50,000 manufacturing and services units.

चक्रवर्ती राजगोपालाचारी की आज पुण्यतिथि है। यह नाम भारतीय इतिहास का एक ऐसा स्वर्णिम पृष्ठ है, जिससे एक सशक्त जननायक, स्वप्नदर्शी राजनायक, आदर्श चिन्तक, दार्शनिक के साथ-साथ युग को एक खास रंग देने की महक उठती है। उनके व्यक्तित्व के इतने रूप हैं, इतने आयाम हैं, इतने रंग है, इतने दृष्टिकोण हैं, जिनमें वे व्यक्ति और नायक हैं, दार्शनिक और चिंतक हैं, प्रबुद्ध और प्रधान है, वक्ता और नेता हैं। उनकी उपलब्धियों के वैराट्य को देखते हुए उनको दी गयी ‘राजाजी’ की उपाधि उचित है। उन्हें भारतीय राजनीति के शिखर पुरुष कहा जाता है। गीता, रामायण और महाभारत के अनुवाद उन्होंने अपने ढंग से किए। मौलिक कहानियों के सृजन में वे सिद्धहस्त थे। मोपासां और खलील जिब्रान की तरह उन्होंने जीवन के गहन से गहन तत्व पर बड़ी सहज-सरल भाषा में अपनी अभिव्यक्ति दी। साहित्य अकादमी ने उन्हें उनकी पुस्तक ‘चक्रवर्ती थिरुमगम्’ पर सम्मानित किया। उन्होंने कुछ दिनों तक महात्मा गांधी के ‘यंग इंडिया’ का संपादन कर इस क्षेत्र में भी अपनी प्रतिभा प्रदर्शित की थी।

- Rajagopalachari, born on December 10, 1878, in Torali village, was a prominent figure in India’s independence movement and a key political leader. His journey into public life began in 1917 when he became chairperson of the Salem Municipality. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, Rajagopalachari gave up his legal profession to join the freedom struggle, participating in various movements like the Non-Cooperation and Civil Disobedience movements. He later served as the last Governor-General of India and briefly as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Rajagopalachari was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954 for his contributions to politics and literature, and he founded the Swatantra Party to promote center-right ideologies. He was also a renowned writer, with notable works including his retellings of the Mahabharata and Ramayana in English, as well as Tamil literature.

सत्यदेव दुबे भारत के जाने माने नाटककार, पटकथा लेखक, फ़िल्म व नाट्य निर्देशक सत्यदेव दुबे की आज पुण्यतिथि है। उन्होंने फ़िल्मों में भी काम किया और कई पटकथाएं लिखीं। देश में हिंदी के अकेले नाटककार थे, जिन्होंने अलग-अलग भाषाओं के नाटकों को हिंदी में लाकर उन्हें अमर कर दिया। शुरुआती दिनों में दुबे जी की क्रिकेट के प्रति दीवानगी थी और वे एक नामी क्रिकेटर बनना चाहते थे और अपने सपनों को पूरा करने के लिए मुंबई चले आए थे लेकिन शौकिया तौर पर भारतीय रंगमंच के पितामह कहलाने वाले इब्राहीम अल्काजी द्वारा संचालित थिएटर के संपर्क में आने से उनकी ज़िंदगी बदल गई। पी डी शिनॉय और निखिलजी का मार्गदर्शन रहा। अल्काजी राष्ट्रीय नाट्य विद्यालय के प्रमुख का पद संभालने दिल्ली चले गए तो मुंबई में उनके रंगमंच की कमान दुबे के हाथों में आ गई।
सत्यदेव दुबे ने श्याम बेनेगल की फ़िल्म ‘भूमिका’ के अलावा कुछ अन्य फ़िल्मों के लिए भी कहानी और संवाद लिखे थे। उनके द्वारा चलाए जाने वाले थियेटर कार्यशाला को पेशेवर और शौकिया तौर पर थियेटर करने वाले लोग एक समान पसंद किया करते थे। निर्देशक के रूप में उन्होंने 1956 में काम शुरू किया। वे अनेक मराठी व हिन्दी फ़िल्मों के निर्देशक रहे हैं। सत्यदेव ने कुछ फ़िल्मों में अभिनय भी किया और कुछ फ़िल्मों का निर्देशन भी किया है। उन्होंने निर्देशक श्याम बेनेगल और गोविंद निहलानी की फ़िल्मों के संवाद और पटकथा भी लिखी।

We are also remembring William Collins is regarded as one of the most skilled 18th-century lyric poets. Marking a transitional period in English literature, Collins’s style is formally Neoclassical but presages the themes of the Romantic period. His treatment of individual experience and descriptions of emotion influenced his peers as well as the next generation of writers.
His 1742 publication, Persian Eclogues, was warmly received by both readers and critics, and he followed his success with Verses Humbly Address’d to Sir Thomas Hanmer (1743). Collins moved to London to write, forfeiting his scholarship, but was forced to leave the city after his extravagant lifestyle created a significant debt.
While they garnered little attention during Collins’s lifetime, the poems in his Odes on Several Descriptive and Allegoric Subjects (1746) are among his most celebrated and include “Ode to Evening” and “Ode to Fear.”

भारतीय सिनेमा की प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री साधना की आज पुण्यतिथि है। उन्होंने फ़िल्म ‘अबाणा’ से अपना फ़िल्मी सफर आरम्भ किया था। साधना ने हिन्दी फ़िल्मों से जो शोहरत पाई और जो मुकाम हासिल किया, वह किसी से छिपा नहीं है। साधना का पूरा नाम ‘साधना शिवदासानी’ था। वह अपने माता-पिता की एकमात्र संतान थीं। अपने बालों की स्टाइल की वजह से भी साधना प्रसिद्ध थीं, उनके बालों की कट स्टाइल ‘साधना कट’ के नाम से जानी जाती है।
फ़िल्मी सफ़र
Sadhana continued making films and became the one of the biggest stars of the 1960s with hits like Mere Mehboob, Hum Dono, and Asli-Naqli. In addition to the ‘Sadhana fringe,’ she started the trend of the churidar pyjama and kameez with saleem shai in the film Waqt (1965).

वर्ष 1955 में “राज कपूर” की फ़िल्म ‘श्री 420’ के गीत ‘ईचक दाना बीचक दाना’ में एक कोरस लड़की की भूमिका मिली थी साधना को, उस वक़्त वो 15 साल की थीं, दरअसल साधना को वह एक विज्ञापन कपनी ने अपने उत्पादकों के लिए मौक़ा दिया था। इन्हें भारत की पहली सिंधी फ़िल्म ‘अबाणा’ (1958) में काम करने का मौक़ा मिला जिसमें उन्होंने अभिनेत्री शीला रमानी की छोटी बहन की भूमिका निभाई थी और इस फ़िल्म के लिए इन्हें 1 रुपए की टोकन राशि का भुगतान किया गया था। इस सिंधी ख़ूबसूरत बाला को सशधर मुखर्जी ने देखा, जो उस वक़्त बहुत बड़े फ़िल्मकार थे। सशधर मुखर्जी को अपने बेटे जॉय मुखर्जी के लिए एक हिरोइन के लिए नये चेहरे की तलाश कर रहे थे।
साधना ने कई कला फ़िल्मों में भी अभिनय किया। रोमांटिक और रहस्यमयी फ़िल्मों के अलावा उन्हें कला फ़िल्मों में भी बहुत सराहा गया। उनकी हेयर स्टाइल आज भी साधना कट के नाम से जानी जाती है। चूड़ीदार कुर्ता, शरारा, गरारा, कान में बड़े झुमके, बाली और लुभावनी मुस्कान यह सब साधना की विशिष्ट पहचान रही है। चार फ़िल्मों में साधना ने दोहरी भूमिका निभाई थी। साधना की जो बेहद कामयाब फ़िल्में रही है, उनमें ‘आरज़ू’, ‘वक़्त’, ‘वो कौन थी’, ‘मेरा साया’, ‘हम दोनों’, ‘वंदना’, ‘अमानत’, ‘उल्फ़त’, ‘बदतमीज’, ‘इश्क पर ज़ोर नहीं’, ‘परख’, ‘प्रेमपत्र’, ‘गबन’, ‘एक फूल दो माली’ और ‘गीता मेरा नाम’ आदि का नाम प्रमुखता से लिया जा सकता है।
हिंदी सिनेमा में योगदान के लिए, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय भारतीय फ़िल्म अकादमी (आईफा) द्वारा 2002 में लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट पुरस्कार से सम्मानित भी किया जा चुका है। कई हिंदी फ़िल्मों में उनके पिता का रोल उनके सगे चाचा हरी शिवदासानी ने किया था जो अभिनेत्री बबिता के पिता हैं।
Most of her films were major hits, and many of them still remembered as all time classics. Her films such as Ek Musafir Ek Hasina, Raaj Kumar, Budtameez and Arzoo were known for their romantic plots and beautiful music, but Raj Khosla, her director in Ek Musafir Ek Hasina, saw an enigmatic, mysterious side to Sadhana and cast her in Woh Kaun Thi (1964). The film became a huge hit with its themes of the Alfred Hitchcock film Vertigo (1958) and gave Sadhana her signature role of the “mystery girl,” where her performance kept everyone guessing till the very end. She was nominated for a Film Fare Award as Best Actress, and Khosla later directed her in two more box-office hit suspense thrillers, Mera Saaya (1965)and Anita (1968).
