The Budget Session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will begin today. Meghalaya Governor, C.H. Vijayshankar, will deliver his address to members of the House, marking the commencement of the session. The Assembly’s Business Advisory Committee has allocated seven days for government business and three days for private members’ business. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, who holds the finance portfolio, will present the State Budget for the year 2026-2027 in the House on the 20th of this month.
The proceedings of the House will be extended, if required, particularly on the day when Supplementary Demand for Grants is taken up, with discussions continuing till 3 pm.
