The Budget Session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly commenced today. The session, which will continue till the 20th of March, will have a total of fifteen sittings. During his address, Governor Ramen Deka said that the Chhattisgarh Government is preparing the state to serve as a powerhouse for a developed India. He said the Energy Summit was also organised for this purpose, which received investment proposals worth three lakh fifty thousand crore rupees. The Governor said that the government is committed to developing the state as a hub for manufacturing and service industries.
Meanwhile, the State Finance Minister OP Choudhary presented the Economic Survey in the House today. According to the survey, Chhattisgarh’s Gross State Domestic Product is estimated to grow by 11.57 per cent in the year 2025-26 compared to the previous year. The per capita income in the state is also projected to register an increase of nearly ten per cent over last year. The Finance Minister will present the Budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the Assembly tomorrow.
