The budget session of the 14th Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly begins today. The session will open with the Governor’s address, while both the ruling party and the opposition have finalised their respective strategies.

The budget session of the 14th Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly will begin today in Shimla with the address of Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at 2 p.m. Ahead of the budget session, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Kuldeep Singh Pathania has convened an all-party meeting, in which members of the Congress and BJP legislature parties will be urged to ensure the smooth conduct of House proceedings. Meanwhile, a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party will be held this morning under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, where a strategy for the session will be prepared, including issues related to the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG). On the other hand, a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party will be held at 11 a.m. under the chairmanship of Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, in which the opposition will chalk out its strategy to corner the government on various issues.
