In a major relief for residents living along the International Border in Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts, the Border Security Force has released funds to pay compensation for land acquired to develop a 135-feet-wide bund and Border Observation Posts. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the development follows the intervention of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, in a social media post, informed that Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, has confirmed that the funds have been received and will be disbursed to the legitimate landowners through the respective Deputy Commissioners in the next few days. This announcement has brought relief to the affected residents who have been waiting for a long time for the compensation.
