Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) President and Telangana former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao today suspended his daughter K Kavitha from the party for her anti-party activities with immediate effect. Kavith is sitting MLC representing the BRS. Party General Secretaries T Ravinder Rao and Soma Bharat Kumar, in charge of party disciplinary affairs, have released the order in Hyderabad.
The order said the party leadership has taken a serious view of her behaviour during the past few days, which is harming the interests of the party. It further said party President K. Chandrasekhar Rao has taken a decision to suspend K. Kavitha from the party with immediate effect.
Kavitha spoke up yesterday against her cousin and former minister Harish Rao and another cousin, Santosh Kumar, for tarnishing her father’s image. She alleged that they have a tacit understanding with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to defame her father, as the Revanth Reddy government decided to order a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project.
Kavitha had been removed from Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham a few weeks back. She has been openly speaking out against her party and raised questions over the handling of internal matters for the past some time. It may be known that Kavitha was arrested by the ED in March last year in the 100 crore rupees liquor scam case and later granted bail after 5 months. She was elected to the Lok Sabha from Nizamabad in 2014 and lost the election in 2019.
