In Brazil, at least eight people have died following an accident involving a hot air balloon in the southern region of Santa Catarina today. Governor Jorginho Mello said rescue teams were searching for other people, as preliminary information indicated there were 22 people on board. Local media reported that a hot air balloon caught fire while in the sky before deflating and falling to the ground.
