Earlier, when the Rajya Sabha met after the first adjournment at 12 noon, the opposition members again started sloganeering demanding discussion on Special Intensive Revision of electoral roll in Bihar. Union Minister and Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, JP Nadda criticized the opposition for staging a walkout during the reply of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the discussion on Operation Sindoor in the House yesterday. Mr Nadda said that during the discussion on the Mumbai terror attack in 2008, the then Home Minister and Prime Minister had replied. Mr Nadda also mentioned that during the Business Advisory Committee meeting, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had made it clear that it is the prerogative of the government to decide which Minister will speak and reply in the House. He said the opposition parties had demanded a discussion on Operation Sindoor but when the opportunity came, they chose to walkout without listening to the Home Minister’s reply. Mr Nadda said, this shows the double standard of the opposition. The Presiding Officer tried to run the Question Hour but the proceedings were disrupted due to the opposition uproar. As the pandemonium continued, the Chair adjourned the House till 2 PM.
