Bharatiya Janata Party BJP today requested the Governor to intervene in the early declaration of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam result. The result of this year’s state JEE examination has not been declared till now because of anomalies relating to OBC quota reservation, in which the case is subjudice.
Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Suvendu Adhikari accused the state government of trying to include 76 Muslim communities in the OBC list. He said that, due to the non-declaration of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam result, many students are not in a position to get admissions in educational institutions, while in other states, classes have already been started. He informed the press that the BJP would organise a sit-in protest next week if the results are not published.
