BJP today released its first list of 144 candidates for the assembly polls in West Bengal. The party has fielded the Leader of Opposition in the assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, from Nandigram and Bhabanipur. Sitting MLA Agnimitra Paul will again contest from Asansol Dakshin. Former Lok Sabha MP Dilip Ghosh will fight from Kharagpur Sadar, and former Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Das Gupta from Rashbehari. Former cricketer and sitting MLA Ashok Dinda has been again fielded from the Moyna seat. The 294 members of the West Bengal Assembly will go to the polls in two phases on the 23rd and 29th of next month. Counting will take place on 4th May.
