The BJP today staged protests in front of District Magistrates’ offices across several districts of West Bengal, accusing the State Government for deliberately distorting the SIR process. BJP workers protested against the role of certain EROs, AEROs, and BLOs in submitting incorrect information about voters during the SIR process. According to the BJP, this has led to many voters facing unnecessary harassment during hearings. They also condemned the role of district magistrates and SDOs for creating problems for the people of the state. The party organized these demonstrations in front of district magistrates’ offices in 23 administrative districts.
