The BJP-led NDA and CPM led LDF issued the first list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Keralam. The BJP released its list of 47 candidates. Union Minister George Kurian will contest the Kanjirappally seat, while Party State President and former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar will contest Nemom. Another former Union Minister, V Muraleedharan, has been fielded from the Kazakootam constituency. Former State BJP president K. Surendran will fight from the Manjeshwar seat, and Navya Haridas has been fielded from the Kozhikode North seat. Former IPS Officer R Sreelekha will contest from the Vattiyoorkavu constituency.
The LDF announced the names of 75 candidates. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Finance Minister K N Balagopal are among the 75 candidates.
126 Member Kerala Assembly will go to the polls on the 9th of next month. The count is to be held on 4th May.
