After the resignation of Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh from his post yesterday, the political settlement among the BJP legislators in the state has not arrived yet. The BJP Lok Sabha MP and party spokesperson Sambit Patra, who arrived in Imphal yesterday along with Mr. Biren, held a series of meetings with the BJP MLAs in Imphal today.

Mr. Sambit Patra held a meeting with the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly and BJP MLA, Thokchom Satyabrata, this morning on the present political situation. The political analysts speculated that the rift between BJP MLAs in Manipur has been caused by the grudges between Mr. Biren and Mr. Satyabrata.

Later, the Lok Sabha MP and BJP leader also held meetings with four BJP MLAs, including Yumnam Khemchand and Thokchom Radhesyam. After the meeting, Mr. Khemchand informed the media persons that the decision taken by the party’s high command over the political situation in the state would be accepted and followed. He said that the top priority for the state is to restore peace and harmony at the earliest.
