In West Bengal, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has accused the state government of fresh deception against the state’s unemployed youth through the distribution of Yuba Sathi application forms.
Speaking at a press conference in Kolkata today, Suvendu Adhikari alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been continuously misleading educated youth since 2013. He said while the state budget initially introduced the Yuba Utsaho scheme-later renamed Yubashree-and promised monthly stipends of 1,500 rupees via the employment bank, the project’s funding has effectively ceased since the 2017-18 fiscal year.
He further alleged that the original list of 17 lakhs applicants from the employment bank has vanished without a trace.
