BJP National President Nitin Nabin launched the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in Cooch Behar district yesterday ahead of Assembly Elections in West Bengal. He declared the campaign a crusade to hold the Trinamool Congress government accountable for widespread corruption. Levying sharp criticisms against the state administration, Nitin Nabin alleged that rather than ensuring women’s safety, the government advises them to remain indoors.
He further accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of prioritizing the protection of infiltrators over the rights of genuine citizens, noting that over 5 million names have been removed from the voter list as part of the SIR in West Bengal. Asserting that neither the Left Front nor the TMC can tackle illegal immigration, Mr. Nabin maintained that only a BJP government can restore order. He also highlighted the R.G. Kar incident, recruitment scams, and “appeasement politics” as key reasons, alleging why the current “corrupt government” must be removed.
The launch of Parivartan Yatra saw a massive mobilization of BJP leadership across the state. In Cooch Behar, Mr Nabin was joined by state president Samik Bhattacharya and former Union Minister Nisith Pramanik. Simultaneously, Union Minister JP Nadda kicked off the Yatra from the Krishnanagar South constituency in the presence of Union Minister Dr Sukanta Majumdar and BJP leader Rahul Sinha.
In Medinipur’s Garbeta, the march was inaugurated by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and LoP Suvendu Adhikari, while Union Minister Annapurna Devi, Smriti Irani, and Dilip Ghosh led the commencement from Kulti in Asansol.
