The Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded the removal of the officials allegedly close to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) from the upcoming Assembly election process. BJP spokesperson Debjit Sarkar stated that state officials who have had close relations with the ruling dispensation since 2011 should be barred from election-related duties.
