A BJP delegation led by senior party leaders and Union Ministers, including Piyush Goyal, Kiren Rijiju and Dr Sukanta Manjumdar, met the Election Commission of India today. Addressing the media after the meeting, Mr Rijiju said free and fair elections should be conducted in West Bengal. He alleged that the Chief Minister of West Bengal and Senior Trinamool Congress Leader Mamata Banerjee and her party have completely hijacked the electoral process in the state. Mr Rijiju added that they expressed their concern related to West Bengal before the Commission, and it responded positively and assured that they will take whatever steps are necessary to ensure free and fair elections.
