Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that the law and order in West Bengal has completely broken down. BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya said police had summoned the BJP leaders and MLAs who took part in the Nabanna march last week. Supporters of BJP participated in the protests which was called by the parents of the R G Kar Medical College doctor, who was brutally raped and murdered last year. The mother of the doctor was allegedly beaten by the police while participating in the Nabanna march. Her father was also injured. A FIR has been filed regarding this incident.

 

 

Meanwhile, Kolkata Police informed the media today, no video footage was recovered revealing police assault on the mother of the victim of the R G Kar case. Police is investigating the incident. On Saturday last week a large rally was organised towards the state secretariat Nabanna demanding justice in the rape and murder of a PGT doctor in the intervening night of 8th and 9th August last year.
