BJP today accused the West Bengal government, led by the Trinamool Congress, of fostering lawlessness in the state. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, BJP Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia alleged that yesterday, 7 judicial officers who were carrying out their duties in the SIR process in the Malda district were taken hostage by TMC party workers. He said every Indian is watching, worried, and anguished by the current ruling government in the state. Citing the Supreme Court order, Mr Bhatia accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of undermining the authority and power of the apex court.
