The BJP today released another list of 12 candidates for the Bihar Assembly Polls today. Folk singer Maithili Thakur who recently joined the party has been fielded from Alinagar. Former IPS officer Anand Mishra will fight from Buxar seat. Dr Siyaram Singh will contest from Barh constituency and Mahesh Paswan will fight from Agiaon seat. With this the party has announced the name of 83 candidates, so far.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), today released the first list of 14 candidates out of the 29 seats allotted to the party in the seat-sharing arrangement within the NDA for the Bihar Assembly elections. The party has fielded Raju Tiwari from Govindganj, Sanjay Kumar Singh from Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Vishnu Dev Paswan from Darouli, Seemant Mrinal from Garkha, Surendra Kumar from Sahebpur Kamal, Sanjay Kumar from Bakhri, and Babulal Shaurya from Parbatta.
Earlier in the day, the Janata Dal (United) has also released its first list of 57 candidates. The party has again given tickets to several sitting MLAs and state ministers. Ministers currently serving in the state cabinet have been given another opportunity to contest. Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar will contest from Nalanda. Senior party leader and Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary will contest from Sarairanjan constituency.
Social Welfare Minister Madan Sahni and Education Minister Sunil Kumar have also been renominated. Meanwhile, the name of Umesh Kushwaha, the state JD(U) president who filed his nomination papers yesterday from the Mahnar constituency, is also included in the list. Another minister, Maheshwar Hazari, will contest from Kalyanpur in Samastipur district. Former MP Ashwamedh Devi has been given ticket from the Samastipur Assembly constituency.
