In Bihar, political upheaval continues over the seat sharing arrangements and announcement of candidates names. After an agreement on seat sharing within the NDA, the announcement of candidates names still pending as Rashtriya Lok Morcha President Upendra Kushwaha is reported to be unhappy over the seat allocations. The Rashtriya Lok Morcha has been allotted six seats. Efforts are underway by the BJP to pacify Upendra Kushwaha.
On the other hand, the Grand Alliance has not been able to make a formal announcement on seat sharing today. Leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress are engaged in discussions to resolve the matter. Congress’ Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru said that talks are in the final stage and the announcement will be made soon.
Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party today released its second list of 65 candidates. Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD president Lalu Prasad, also released a list of 21 candidates for his newly formed party, Janshakti Dal. Tej Pratap, who is currently a MLA from the Mahua constituency, has announced that he will contest again from the same seat.
