In Bihar, newly elected MLAs of the NDA will meet in Patna tomorrow to elect their leader. 202 NDA MLAs belonging to five constituent parties – BJP, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha – will participate in the meeting. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to be elected once again as the leader of the NDA legislature party in Bihar. The leader of the NDA legislature party will then stake a claim to form a new government in the state.
Before this, the BJP and JD(U) will elect their legislative party leaders in separate meetings. These meetings are also likely to take place tomorrow. Meanwhile, discussions are continuing between the two major NDA constituents – BJP and JD(U) regarding the structure of the government, the size of the cabinet, and the distribution of ministerial posts among various constituents.
For the final decision and discussions with top BJP leaders, JD(U) Working President Sanjay Jha and senior party leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh reached New Delhi last night. Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan are being finalised. The ceremony will be held on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, and senior NDA leaders are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government.
The state cabinet has recommended the dissolution of the 17th Legislative Assembly. It has been recommended to dissolve the current assembly on 19th November. It is likely that tomorrow Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will submit his resignation to the Governor, after which he will stake a claim to form the new government.
