Bihar Gears Up for First Phase of Assembly Polls; Heavy Rain Distrupts Campaigning

In Bihar, as the first phase of polling in the Assembly elections approaches, election campaigning has intensified. Voting for 121 Assembly constituencies across 18 districts is scheduled to be held on the 6th of this month. Senior leaders from the NDA, Mahagathbandhan, and other political parties will address multiple rallies today.

However, continuous rainfall across several parts of the state has disrupted campaigning. Numerous political meetings by star campaigners and senior leaders had to be cancelled yesterday due to adverse weather conditions.

Akashvani’s correspondent reports that Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address three election rallies today in Gopalganj, Hajipur, and Samastipur districts. BJP President J.P. Nadda will address rallies in Siwan and Muzaffarpur. JD(U) National President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will hold nine rallies in Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, and Saran districts. Senior BJP leader and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will participate in several rallies along with NDA leaders in Muzaffarpur and Saran districts.

From the Mahagathbandhan, Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will address multiple election rallies in Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, and Vaishali districts. Congress National General Secretary and MP Priyanka Gandhi will address an election rally in Saharsa today.
