In Bihar, the festival of Raksha Bandhan being observed with joy and enthusiasm. On this occasion, since morning, huge gatherings of devotees are witnessed at temples across the state. The state government has provided women and girl students with free travel facilities in Bihar State Road Transport Corporation buses today and tomorrow on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan today, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conveyed a message of environmental conservation by tying rakhis to trees. In the Rajdhani Vatika Park, Patna Mr. Kumar tied rakhis to trees and observed Tree Conservation Day.

He also planted saplings on this occasion. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had initiated the observance of Tree Conservation Day on Raksha Bandhan 13 years ago.
