Bihar Elections: Grand Alliance Disunity on Display as Partners Contest Against Each Other

Due to the dispute the RJD, Congress and Left parties are contesting against each other. The Communist Party of India (CPI) has fielded candidates in Rosera, Rajapakar, and Bihar Sharif constituencies, against Congress.
In Rajgir assembly constituency, the CPI(ML) has given ticket to a candidate against the Congress nominee. Similarly, on the Bachhwara seat of Begusarai Congress has fielded a candidate against the CPI’s nominee. The RJD has also put up its candidates against Congress in Vaishali and Lalganj constituencies. Additionally, the Indian Inclusive Party (IIP) has filed nominations from Saharsa and Jamalpur constituencies.
The RJD has given space to the Indian Inclusive Party as the seventh partner in the Grand Alliance. However, internal dissent has grown within the Congress as well. Displeased with the ticket distribution, several senior Congress leaders have rebelled against the party leadership. Former MLA Gajanand Shahi and current MLA Chatrapati Yadav have accused the leadership of irregularities in ticket allocation.
