Bihar CM Nitish Kumar conducts aerial survey of  flood-affected areas

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Bihar.

       

During the survey, the Chief Minister reviewed the situation caused by the floods. Mr. Kumar surveyed the flood-hit areas of Vaishali, Patna, Begusarai, and Munger districts.

 

During this, he inspected the flood situation in Raghopur Diara of Vaishali district; Kala Diara, Rupas Mahaji, Ramnagar, Kasaha Diara, as well as the Tal areas of Mokama, Barh, and Fatuha in Patna district.

 

In the State, the rise in water levels of major rivers, including the Ganga, Gandak, Kosi, Bagmati, and Mahanand, has affected 10 districts from floods. More than 25 lakh people have been impacted by the floods. Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Vaishali, Munger, and Patna are the worst-affected districts.

 

Meanwhile, several parts of Purnea district in the Seemanchal region have also come under the grip of floods.

 

For the past week, the monsoon has been extremely active in the State. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in most parts of the state for the next 24 hours.
