The Biju Patnaik International Airport at Bhubaneswar in Odisha has registered the highest passenger traffic in its history during the year 2025. More than 5.15 million passengers travelled through the airport in 2025, the highest annual passenger movement since the airport became operational.

With the rise in passenger traffic, Bhubaneswar Airport has moved up to the 13th position in the country in terms of total passenger movement, marking a significant improvement over previous years. At the national level, Delhi Airport continues to top the list with passenger traffic of around 70 million. Bhubaneswar Airport is now connected to 28 destinations, improving air connectivity and facilitating easier travel for passengers from Odisha.
