Most Asian stocks edged higher today amid hope of easing trade tensions between US and China. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index surged over 2.3 per cent, Japan’s Nikkei climbed almost 1.9 per cent, South Korea’s Kospi Index ended over one and half percent, and Singapore’s Strait Times index gained over 0.9 per cent. Conversely, China’s Shanghai Composite index fell marginally by 0.1 per cent. Meanwhile, major European indices were trading higher. Germany’s DAX was trading 2.3 per cent up, France’s CAC 40 rose over two per cent, and London’s FTSE 100 was trading over 1.2 per cent up, when reports last came in.
