BCCI President Mithun Manhas Pledges Support to Develop Cricket in Jammu & Kashmir

BCCI president Mithun Manhas has assured full support to the Jammu and Kashmir government for developing cricket at all levels in the Union Territory. The assurance came at a meeting Manhas had with Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Youth Services and Sports Satish Sharma in Srinagar yesterday. An official spokesman said, Sharma and Manhas held extensive discussions on the promotion and development of cricket infrastructure and associated activities across Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, the Minister highlighted the Government’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent and strengthening grassroots cricket within the Union Territory. Sharma stressed the importance of modern training facilities, youth engagement programmes, and organised tournaments to identify and support emerging players. Additionally, the Minister called for special emphasis on border areas as well as remote and far-flung regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

He explored the possibilities of hosting inter-district and national-level tournaments, enhancing coaching support, and upgrading existing cricket infrastructure to meet national standards.
