BCCI constitutes committee to formulate guidelines for victory celebrations, following Bengaluru stampede

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to constitute a committee to formulate comprehensive guidelines aimed at preventing such incidents that occurred during the IPL victory celebrations of RCB in Bengaluru. The decision was taken during BCCI’s 28th Apex Council Meeting held yesterday. The committee will be led by Devajit Saikia as Chairperson, while it will also comprise of Prabhtej Singh Bhatia and Rajeev Shukla. This committee will formulate the guidelines within 15 days. The Apex Council also expressed grief over the tragic incidents in Ahmedabad and Bengaluru, which led to the unfortunate loss of innocent lives.


Moreover, the Apex Council confirmed the venues for India’s upcoming white-ball home series against New Zealand, scheduled to be held in January next year. The Kiwis will play 3 ODIs, followed by 5 T20Is in India. Baroda, Rajkot and Indore will host ODI matches, while Nagpur, Raipur, Guwahati, Vizag and Trivandrum will host the 20-over matches.


Furthermore, BCCI’s Domestic Season 2025-26 was also approved during the Apex Council Meet. The domestic season will begin with the Duleep Trophy from 28th of August, and it will conclude with the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal Multi-Day Trophy on 03rd of April, next year.
