Bangladesh Nationalist Party(BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul today said the law and order situation in the country has deteriorated due to the failure of the Mohammad Yunus-led interim government. He urged the government to play an effective role in creating a conducive environment for the elections.
Speaking at a press briefing in Dhaka, Fakhrul said the country is passing through a transitional phase, but dangerous conspiracies by certain quarters are obstructing the process. He claimed such conspiracies led to the killing of political activist Osman Hadi.
Meanwhile, BNP leaders and activists from across the country are heading to Dhaka to welcome Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, who is set to return to Bangladesh on 25th December after nearly 17 years.
