Bangladesh celebrates 11th International Day of Yoga

The High Commission of India in Bangladesh organised a grand Yoga event in Dhaka on the occasion of 11th International Day of Yoga. The Common Yoga Protocol was led by the Yoga teacher and students of Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC). In addition to this, six yoga associations including Art of Living Bangladesh, Evergreen Yoga, Hu Art of Yoga, Joysun Yoga, Notre Dame Yoga and Meditation Club and Self Healing Hub took part in the main event.

Addressing hundreds of Yoga enthusiasts assembled at the High Commission in Dhaka on the occasion, the High Commissioner Pranay Verma said that Yoga is a precious contribution of ancient Indian civilization to the modern world. Yoga has the ability to connect individuals across borders, across cultures and across beliefs. It can serve as a unifying force, promoting physical and mental well-being among the people of India and Bangladesh, he said.

Yoga practitioners and enthusiasts gathered in large numbers at the venue to take part in the event. Famous Bangladeshi actor Chanchal Chowdhury, celebrities from the different fields and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
