Awareness Walk on Dyslexia Held from Vijay Chowk to India Gate

Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar along with Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Rajesh Aggarwal flagged off the Walk Dyslexi from Vijay Chowk to India Gate in New Delhi today. The event organized as part of the National Dyslexia Awareness Month campaign is aimed at promoting understanding of dyslexia, encourage early identification, and highlight the importance of inclusive education.
 
 
Addressing the media, Mr Sanjay Kumar underlined that awareness and timely recognition of learning difficulties are essential for effective support and treatment. He also urged parents to remain observant of their children’s learning patterns and to seek expert advice without hesitation if any difficulties in reading or writing are noticed. Mr Kumar noted that many individuals with dyslexia have gone on to achieve excellence in various fields, including Nobel laureates, and emphasized the need for greater acceptance and understanding of learning differences. 
 
 
The event included participation from students, teachers, and other volunteers. The campaign aligned with the vision of the Accessible India initiative to ensure equal opportunities in education for all.
