In Sikkim, an awareness and capacity-building programme ‘Workshops on Flagship Schemes’ under the MyBharat initiative was organised at the Kaputhang Government Polytechnic in Pakyong district yesterday. Akashvani correspondent reports that youth, students, and community members attended the programme and took part in its deliberations.
The program intended to inform youth and members of local communities about various centrally sponsored flagship schemes and to facilitate their understanding of procedures for accessing benefits. The programme formed part of MyBharat’s outreach activities aimed at disseminating information on the Government of India schemes at the district level.
Mangal Jakhar, Deputy Director, Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, MyBharat Gangtok, provided an overview of youth-oriented Government programmes and discussed the role of young people in community-based implementation & outreach. President Awardee and National Service Scheme (NSS) Programme Officer Arjun Pradhan shared perspectives on youth participation, volunteerism, and community service based on his field experience.
The workshop covered a range of Government schemes, including Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY, PM Mudra Yojana, Digital India initiatives, Skill India Mission/PMKVY, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, Stand-Up India Scheme, and PM Ujjwala Yojana. Information was provided on eligibility criteria, application procedures, documentation requirements, and available benefits. Participants were given the opportunity to seek clarification through interactive discussions.
