Union Minister Piyush Goyal Says FTAs boost business and investment opportunities in India

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that free trade agreements with several countries have helped to increase the scope of business and investment in the country.
 
 
Addressing the 98th Annual General Meeting of FICCI in New Delhi today, Mr Goyal said India is in talks with 14 group countries, including the US and the European Union, in this regard. The Minister also called for stronger research and development frameworks and industry participation, stressing that global companies have committed 100 billion dollars worth of investments in India.
 
 
 
Mr Goyal said that Atmanirbhar Bharat has now become a collective national mission, with every citizen contributing in their own way to this vision and journey. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the vision of self-reliance to the centre of the country’s economic progress. The Minister said that the theme FICCI has chosen today for the Annual General Meeting resonates perfectly with Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a self-reliant economic powerhouse.
