At least 40 people were killed in an attack by Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels in northeastern Congo yesterday. The assault took place at a Catholic church in the town of Komanda, where worshippers had gathered for prayer, according to the UN peacekeeping mission in the region. The ADF, originally a Ugandan rebel group and now aligned with the Islamic State since 2019, has been responsible for thousands of civilian deaths.
